I know shouldn't compare men and women but the skills and intelligence of some players are huge.

They got Caitlin Foord on LW and we have Metcalfe. The got a very talented Mary Fowler and the Socceroos got none of that kinda player. 
As much as I love the Socceroos, they are so painful to watch.

It certainly does. Gross error sucks when replays are shown and that was where the idea came from. I'd be fine with no VAR provided the media and pundits totally shut up about all the small offsides, fouls and handballs. We never used to be shown replays of all the studs up challenges. Players also used to just get on with it. Now they know VAR could send an opponent off they lie down prompting checks.
