+xI didn't watch it but reading this it seems Kuol was poor. Let's hope Irankunda doesn't go down the same path because Garang left with such high hopes. I have to admit, I was a bit of a Garang fanboy talking him up before he got signed & made the WC squad. Since then it's been pretty much all downhill for him - in hindsight, he should've stayed at least another season in the a league, as he wasn't even starting for the Mariners before he left.  No chance this will happen with Irankunda, he started 90% of games this season & was pretty much Adelaide's best player. He's far superior to Garang at the same age, with a far greater ceiling.

But that's the way football is. Games in the middles East extended champions league extended world cup var they don't care about the fans let alone the players

But he has been the victim of managerial changes and illness. TBH I would love to have hom on loan back at CCM. When he is fully game fit and firing he will show his worth. As for his effort last night he had no real opportunities - Spurs had all the ball. I haven't really watched much EPL this season but considering their owners I expected a much better Newcastle side.      And sorry - there is every chance that the same will happen with Irankunda. Being the best player in the current ADL team is a pretty low bar and over two seasons he has not got the better of Jacob Farrell. Is the defence in Germany not going to be at least an order of magnitude better. As Arnold said to Garang - you have done nothing yet. The same applies to Irankunda. This will be a huge step up and one that I hope he can make - but history tells me otherwise.

Incoming Balin Trev. 😉 yep Europe extremely tough on G Kuol and Irankunda yet to test himself against top defenders/keepers. Few people already mentioned Kuol needs more physical bulk/strength- at least Nestory has strong solid build already (bit like Messi has) Garang still could come good but I think Nestor has better potential. Long waiting game to find out…

Correct when your lacking possesion when you do get the ball hang onto it, importantly your first touch needs to be on the money. Call it a stunt, a farce whatever of a mickey mouse game doesn't mean you don't give a shit nor don't put in goos effort when the ball comes to you, eyes are watching regardless. Comments from my daughter from the ground the intensity was far better/lifted by both teams when most of the Jnr's/academy players were on 2nd half. Therefore that was his chance to show not us more so the coaching staff watching. Same applies to any young up and comer.

This will be a huge step up and one that I hope he can make - but history tells me otherwise.   You can never tell, the best player in the Man United Youth side that had Beckham, Scholes, Giggs, Butt, the Neville brothers never made it. He was the first to be considered to make his debut & was regarded the most skillful, but injuries & luck was not on his side & he never made it & faded out of football & died unfortunately in Amsterdam at 27 years old. Adrian Doherty is his name, goggle him. So you never know. However, Irankunda is the best young player I have seen in Australia since Viduka (who was the best ever youth player in Australia) & whether he can make it or depends on his work ethics, mental capacity, injuries & luck.  However, for Australia's sake I really do hope so, love another Dukes (though in different position) level player in the Socceroos.
