17 mins to go, Critta jumps up in the air and catches  the bomb from Burto, but gets tackled by Gutho before he lands on the ground. Changeover ruled by the incompetent peanut holding the whistle.
Blatant incompetence by Badger in the bunker and the peanut in the middle.
Go back and have another look at the replay.

Aside from any other consideration,  attackers can't be tackled in mid-air .

If it wasn't a try we should have got a penalty.

A couple of other line ball decisions went against us, ruling out trys.

Without the bad luck, some dodgy calls and a few times our guys got too excited, we probably put 50 on them.

Huge win. We should have won by twenty or more. Just couldn’t find the other try’s. So many breaks. Just lacked crisp finishes.

Didn’t help the ref killed us. Didn’t help that we had a man in the bin. Didn’t help that we had three injuries. But we made no excuses and found a way to win. Best win we have had since I can’t remember. That could be the biggest win of the next ten years. That could be the memorable moment this team needs to go all the way.

It def was a win against the odds... As good as ever...

Good bloody fun!!!...

We were the better team by a margin, yet still found ourselves behind and seemingly running out of time.

But we found a way to win, because we know how to.

That’s what Cirro’s taught us.

A lot of that is on Critta and Curran as well. Great signings.

Overseas and couldnt watch the game. Had my eels supporter niece sending us messages with the scores. Was looking like we would drop the game but pleased to see we managed to find a win.

So important given the context of the season.

Nice to know we could be coming back to a finals bound team. Just need to navigate around these next couple of origin games now and then go hard towards sessons end. Anything is possible now.

Bwahaha! During the Lemons Barrett/Queen Gutho post match presser, The Dogs singing the team song almost drowns them out. Was the same at a recent game too - last week? or The Dragons?

I wonder if they’re deliberately timing it.

Hope so.

Yes dman, it's great to have faith in the team once again. I didn't know Ciraldo was once-upon-a-time embroiled in the Dogs DNA. I see why Gus chose him and offered him the gig....... he gets it!

It's been a looooong time since I thought "we still got this" when 10 points down and 15 to go ...

I wasn't quite as confident, but it would have been a travesty if we lost.

If we can get our top side on the paddock we are dangerous on both the left and right sides.

I also think that we can possibly have more punch up the middle.

I agree with CC the team is still improving and hasn't peaked.

I am hoping that the Preston injury is a bad sprain rather than a break. So worst case he is back in 5 weeks after the next bye. We might even be close to full strength by then with Foxy the only player like to be out,

This bye has come at the right time with 3 tough games coming up.

The timing of the bye is impeccable. We would otherwise have had 4 missing from yesterdays match. As it stands we will be without Mann and Preston but hopefully Kikau to return and I thought Faamausili put his hand up for a recall in reserve grade.

Round 15: Bye
Round 16: Roosters away (Origin players out - No Burton, Crichton plus no Preston and Mann)
Round 17: Sharks at home Friday night (Origin players backing up)
Round 18: Warriors at home
Round 19: Bye

That right edge attack was really pumping.

Once we get Kiks back the left edge will be potent.

Moving the ball fast with accurate passing, playing straight and good depth brings the outside backs and pace into the game.

Yes even the second bye will be handy.

We will want to win 2 out of 3 which will not be easy.

The Chooks play a desperate Eels which will hopefully be an intense game.

Round 16 we might need to give another young player or 2 a run.

Reserve grade won their last match in a canter there must be some candidates.

Unfortunately I think that the NSW selectors might go with Burton and Moses in the halves. I would have Burton and Luai or Burton on the bench. Hard to see how Burton will not be playing and the kicking game for NSW was ordinary game 1.

All teams are beatable this season, especially if we keep improving.

The Panthers game and that last game against Parra were a very high standard. Sometimes young players can come into a well performing side and rise to the standard.

Young players coming into a losing side often even look good for a week or two, before losing starts to breed bad habits. We have a lot of good winning habits at present.

Just watched the NSW cup highlights,

Apart from Farmer, Samarini  and Hello Kitty also impressed me.

I rate all 3 fairly highly, definitely good enough to fill in against the Chooks,.

Xerri played with a hamstring issue and Wilson a shoulder.

The bye should be enough to sort out the hamstring and shoulder, but with Fox out we need another outside back anyway.

The kick Burto put up which Gutho didn't get near was also interesting.

It was a planned move with Sexton passing deep to Burton, the set up and execution of the kick was excellent, we just got the chase slight wrong.

Put up 3-4 of these in a game with a well organised  chase we should get 1-2 results where a result might be a try or 6 more tackles.

It is a unique weapon that only our side has.

Our squad depth,  attack and defence is above average
.
We still have plenty of room for improvement and mastering the use of the weapon is one area where we can improve.

Our attack is far from one dimensional, but this is just an extra dimension.

Thinking more about the large crowd at Acor, both teams played better it definitely gave Dogs players a lift and added to the enjoyment for fans at the game and those watching on TV.

I also remember great atmosphere with a crowd of around 25,000 when we pumped the Broncos once.

And on a cold rainy Friday night, with a crowd of 9,000 and the team playing crap, it can be a truly miserable experience.

We don't need a new ground, the overwhelming problem at Acor is parking.

Perhaps Canterbury Leagues club could build a club/hotel/apartment complex within walking distance from the ground and add parking. Have a fleet of game day minibuses to pick fans up from nearby railway station car parks. After 5pm on a Friday night most of the railway carparks empty out,

A dogs Leagues Club, with a few good dining options and at least 1 keg of beer would be a great place for fans to meet up prior to the game.

Getting our smallest crowd up to at least the 25,000 mark would be a great outcome.  Now that the side is playing competitive and attractive footy fans will want to come, but they need good parking options.

Yes, it looks lovely. Been a long time. We now need the scummy eels to beat Rorters and keep them from leap frogging us and Saints to beat Manly to keep them from creeping into the 8, just to spite them.

Normally I would not want the Eels and Rabbits to win, but for the bext few weeks if they post a few wins that increases the chances of us finishing top 4.

Broncos were ordinary, after seeing that performance I think that we can beat all of the other teams.

So now I want any other team in the top 8 to lose to increase our chances of finishing top 4.
When 2 other top 8 teams are playing I don't care which one loses.

A home semi at Acor would be great.

I still think it’s a tough ask to make the eight. We could easily lose to the Chickens, Sharts and Wahs. We need to from three going into our last bye.

I agree that the games are going to be tough.

We are also tough to beat, I think that we can beat any team in the comp at full strength, even if they play their best footy.

All we are missing is a bit of size and impact in the middle. We still have a lot of improvement to come and some of that is injured players returning to the team.

All that went wrong against Parra and the Dragons was their big players ran hard at the start of the game and we struggled to handle it.

I think we are a chance to finish top 4 and win the comp this season. The Chooks game is one of harder hurdles and we need to be at full strength in key positions for the semis.
