Nothing in the Call of Duty series will ever beat playing the original for the first time and being blown away (literally a lot of the time) by the intense gunplay and sound in battles that actually happened.

Ditto. 3 neither. Anyway, I wasn't saying that the entire COD series had great storyline, just COD 4.

Anyone played shadowrun? Pretty awesome game although the bad thing is that it doesn't have a campaign or anything. Fun to just mess around on though.

COD4 has a story line. It's a very fast paced and relatively simplistic one, but it does that simple storyline well, and manages to build it from multiple viewpoints (although some of the early US missions are vaguely related to the final infiltration and attack on the rebel nuke base).

The story in COD4 is far better developed than Stalker. Stalker's story is more of an older school "go here, get this" type, constrained by limitations in it's engine, and you play more for the atmosphere and open world than the story. It gets stupid at the end as well with the introduction of the c-consciousness which had zero foreshadowing or information from the prior parts of the game.

You didn't play STALKER right then :P

Because once you realise the side quests are infinite and stop doing them, the game is awesome because you don't know WTF is going on. And the Monolith and Wish Maker are indeed mentioned in conversations and PDAs and journal entries. You know what you're getting into on your way to the centre of The Zone.
And that booming voice on the way to the Wish Maker (if thats the path you take..) is really freaky.

Some BS in SF4.. just beat Seth 2-0 first time with Abel.... I spent an hour last night fighting him with Sakura before I cracked the shits and went to bed.... now Ive spent ANOTHER hour fighting him with Sakura again.... >.< Got to within a pixel of defeating him and I hadn't lost any health... then he turns on the BS with 6 straight Specials and Super Combos . :roll:](*,)

Something that would be fun would be all xboxers to have a big game thingo in halo3 (which im assuming everyone has)!

I think that is a decent idea.

The only prob would be getting everyone on at the same time. It would probably have to be a weekend.

would be fun doin somethin like that on the sony with cod 4. it's heaps fun online. and i got heaps good at it when i broke my ankle and had a month of doing nothing but play it in front of the plasma haha. it's better than cod world at war in my opinion. 8 people for free for all :) not gonna happen though.. everyone hire it out haha. :-k :-s

Anyone know what the download usage is for PS3s when playing online? Ive read that games use around 10KB/s (36MB per hour)... does this sound right?

What's shit is that my landlord has us on friggin Bigpond - so we don't have a 'download limit', we have a 'usage limit' ie. are uploads are counted also. ](*,)

What has your landlord got to do with your internet? Are you in a Velocity estate?
