Got an Xbox 360/ Playstation 2 Slim/ Nintendo 64.

Fav game probably is Guitar Hero, Though I'm planning on picking up Rock Band soon as well.

Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo 64. Been thrashing Mario Kart 64. So good.

Mainly into Fifa and shooters. Rainbow Six, Gears of War, Ghost Recon, Halo, Splinter Cell, all good.

GTA4 also.

yeah gears is good, halo got boring after a while and havent played it for ages, i like call of duty 4,5 too as well

and i really dont like GTA , ever since i had vice city, i really havent had a interest at all in the series.

also people with xbox's and fifa 09, whats your fifa gamerscore?

my gamerscore is 60,000 around there except thats combined with 08's so i think ive gotten about 10,000 since christmas

i worded it wrong i meant the fifa xbox gamerscore as in your acheivements points for fifa/overall

ive got 799 points on fifa, around 5500 overall

Im pretty simmilar to that except I only have the PS2 but we like the same games and on 64 James Bond is the best.

Ratchet and Clank goes off on Ps2 I have all of them now the new ones insane I only bought it the other day. Mercenaries is a great game I am gonna buy 2 soon

I've got Guitar Hero:World Tour, NBA Live 09, Gran Tourisimo 5 and FIFA 09 on PS3. I'd recommend Call of Duty 4 & 5, Rainbow Vegas and Madden 09.

Fifa, COD and Vegas are awesome games.

LOL, I was playing World at War at my mates house with another friend. It was my mate who owned the game versing us two. Me and my friend were up against a wall when we heard barking. We turn round and there's a bunch of dogs trying to kill us. My friend just yells "DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGS". I raced out and picked up a Blu-Ray movie, got home, whacked it in the PS3, pressed play.... NOT.HIGH.DEF. >.<

My console is set to 1080p (as my LCD monitor is progressive not interlaced) and the movie itself is progressive.

The picture was grainy - so im presuming it's my HDMI cable which I picked up for $20. Can anyone recommend a decent and affordable HDMI cable? Or is there some setting Ive overlooked?

Could depend on the movie. A lot of earlier Blurays (and even some newer ones), although being "1080p", are still a very dodgy transfer.

I usually check out the following websites before buying any bluray movies, to make sure I'm not getting any dud "HD" movies:

OK, Im not all that fussed as it was a Xmas Myer Gift Voucher I found in my glove box, SCORE! But that had crossed my mind also.

Its like the earlier DVD releases. Where pretty much just VHS transfers and looked crappy. Its only after a couple of years that some DVDs actually looked good, picture quality wise.

can you get a proper HDMI cable for your xbox, would anyone know?, ive the the one that comes up on my tv as "component" not the HDMI, bit of a n00b at these things, only a month old tv

If the output is a standard HDMI output (which it most likely is) just get any HDMI cable.

Im generally into sports games for consoles, though Im starting to get into FPSs - I need to get the hang of the controls. I prefer FPSs on PC - but mine's a piece of crap.

haha yeah once i get my new computer ill be right, this one i have know is terrible, i can run zoombinis and lemmings along with pocket tanks.:lol::lol:

but yeah on my console i like sports i got fifa, nba, tennis, racing, hunting (its a sport yeah?), plus the fps's like cod and gears of war

If you bought "F.E.A.R." - it's like 4 years old. F.E.A.R. 2 is new I think. Was a sweet game, may get it on PS3. Though COD5 looks good.

I've been putting more hours into my SEGA Saturn. Poor bastards almost dead after 14 years.

Anyway back to other games, I can't really justify paying $99 or more on video games nowadays unless it's something really special (Zelda) or FIFA. 4 year old games are still being sold at their original prices. JB HiFi does a good job with their clearance sales but JB just kicks ass at almost everything.

In fairness to EB they have dropped GTA4 and Farcry2 etc to 84 bucks. But they usually charge 100 for a long time.

I'm the same, I generally just go for second hand games, or only pick up new ones if it's something really special (GH, Ass Creed, etc).

Yeah. Besides FIFA 09, I cant think of the last game I bought for 100 bucks. Would have been a long time ago. I go for things like Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter etc, things that are around 50 bucks.

Ditto. Their 7-day return policy is sweet-as too.

Last full price game I payed for was SSB Brawl and I've spent a grand total of like 5 minutes playing it.

I've only ever returned one game; Gun Valkyrie on XBOX. Fucking one level didn't even give me a general idea on how to complete it. I stopped playing it then came back to it after a few months. I usually clock games that drive me insane doing that but this game, fuck, was terrible. Got like 9 bucks for it but I was glad to get rid of it.

So was I smart to not get Brawl?
I got this game on the PC called TitanQuest. Worst piece of shit game EVER

I borrowed my Metal Gear Solid 4 off my mate... game didn't have ANY instructions on how to play the bitch. Not surprising though.

I never pay $100 for a game. I paid $60 for FIFA about a month out of xmas. I don't like paying fore than $70-80 for a game, and it must be something that I really want. Usually I just wait.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is the best game available on PS3.



While Mario Galaxy isn't as good as Mario 64, it's good enough. Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Zack and Wiki.

For sport games, there really isn't much choice beyond EA. Madden 09 is apparently the best version of the game across all platforms and FIFA isn't too bad either. Wii Sports is kickass but that comes bundled.



Blizzard have been killing the game since endgame got nerfed after guilds failed at Gruul. I only stick with WOW because of the people. I've been playing with the same core group of mates for over 3 years.

:lol: I have just started a new Zelda Twilight Princess campaign as I hadnt used my Wii in a long time and wanted to get some use out of it lol.
Also been playing Mario Galaxy. Good game.

Twilight Princess is essentially the perfect refinement of Ocarina of Time. I'd loved it so much, just like all Zelda games. Saying that, I do want Nintendo to change it up and Miyamoto did come out saying just that so I'm expecting something that rivals what Ocarina of Time did for videogames.

Mario Galaxy on the other hand, was good. Nothing spectacular though. It was just a pretty version of Mario 64 but it didn't have the same feeling that 64 did. I didn't like the planets compared to the wide open spaces that 64 and Sunshine had. It just didn't have that grand feel to it. I thought Nintendo took a step back with Galaxy and I can't really see them changing anything. Sadly Mario has been relegated to cheap sport rip-offs and other mediocre games. I miss the days when a PROPER Mario game came out every 2-3 years. We have had 2 proper Mario games since Mario 64 launched in '96.

Mario 64 is still the game which all platform and adventure games are judged against, 13 years after it's release.

Same for me. Still play it every now and then, but not as often as i did. Still need to get my drumkit fixed too. Can't wait for GH:Metallica, the track listing was just released, it's going to be awesome.

Give it a go. I was the exact same before I started playing it, but there's just something about it. It taps on to that inner desire to be a rock star, and just doesn't let go.

I played GH at JB. It seems pretty fun. I'm not a diehard rock fan but I don't mind if I hear AC/DC, Metallica, Bon Jovi or KISS on the radio. If they are in the game, I'd consider buying it.

Metallica is on GH3, although as funky said,
GH:Metallica is coming out,
Bon Jovi has Living on a Prayer on GH:World Tour
KISS has rock and roll all nite on GH3

i wouldnt mind getting the metallica version and i hope they bring out a "legends" edition with all classic rock songs not some decent songs with some shitty unknown emo/shit songs

I have heard about GH: Metallica. I'll probably pick that up. I saw AC/DC Live on XBOX 360. It's a track pack for RB but I'm not shoveling out all that cash for RB.

I reckon they should do more GH games that are just one artist/band. I'd rather buy 4 different games with the artists I want rather then buy GH:WT and get a bunch of artists I don't like.

I got it for Christmas, it's an awesome game. I play every instrument on medium. I'm having trouble with Prisoner of Society for drums. That's a killer. Scream Aim Fire is damn hard for guitar as well. On practice though, I tried it on expert and got 40% notes hit. Not bad.

Just signed up for 12 months of Live, so will be up for some online action. ID is SpasticZebra. Mainly play Fifa, or Guitar Hero, or a bit of SvR09.
