Really disappointed in Northcote, completely bottled it. 

Would have preferred facing Preston in a national comp next year but that doesnt seem to be happening.... 

As for Northcoete, eh un expected losses to Brunswick and North Geelong would have been enough to help them go up...

3 days to go.... VAMOS HELLAS!!!!!

Well last night was fun. The game had it all, missed penalty, early lead by the travelling team, 1 hour interruption due a spectacular storm (great viewing from undercover in the stand with a beer and souv btw), chasing the equaliser until the 91st minute (so cool and collected Rossco, great goal champion) and then in ET THAT goal by Marco ..... my oh my what a hit son..... Will be remembering that one for a while mate.... 

As a fellow South fan mentioned, its sooo much more entertaining chasing a lead in a cup game sometimes...... the tension in the air was more electric than the lightning :P

Nobody was giving Olympic grief during the game, it was splayed in good spirits despite their industrial tackling... in fact where I was sitting we all thought their goal was nice, well worked and well deserved (and I said so to the QLD couple behind me that I was chatting to) when their #10 stuck his finger up, turned the whole mood nasty.......  I hope he DID get a finger up him. lol

Yep, I believe he was on the/was the head of the Victorian Athletics board (whatever it's called) that organised the move of the athletics track/set-up from Olympic Park (to make way for the ground that Collingwood trains at now) to Lakeside.

That's just a summary, not sure exactly how accurate it is, but Mono would be able to shed more light/confirm it.

To be fair to him mate, he has done everything, fighting tooth and nail, to benefit the club he loves. Collingwood has done whatever they have done DESPITE the  other AFL clubs around them and the AFL as an organisation ... They want something, they go out and get it... 

I just wish we had clubs strong enough and with as much clout behind them in soccer. Dont worry about "uniting" all of football, that will NEVER happen in a million years in Australia, I just hope that 1-2 clubs down here become strong enough to fight for a fair share of the pie. 

So its Hume City in the Semi Final of the league this Friday then again in the Quarter final of the Australia Cup a few weeks later??? That will be 5 times this season :(

We did it the hard way... Nail-biter of a match.. Didn't take our chances when presented and down to 10 men with Rossco getting in jured in the opeining minute and Andy taking one for the team.

In a strange way losing this one didnt bother me, its easier when the match goes entirely as expected. In a perverse way maybe a hint of optimism knowing this fraud of a coach who has bored the clubs fanbase to death will be finally given his marching orders next week.

Club must throw the kitchen sink at luring John Anastasiadis away from Heidelberg.

Aside from the boring grand final, the ffv need to seriously reconsider this lovein they have with the home of the matildas, its simply not fit for purpose for a grand final, i dont care whether they get the venue for free, its your showpiece fixture and you've got people standing on park benches and climbing fences because they cant see the game due to the entire fence line being full. Do better.

Disappointed with yesterday. 3 gf losses in a row is hard to stomach. I still reckon Esteban keeps his job though. Would rather lose to Hume next week than lost to Oakleigh again in the cup though....

Didn't mind the venue, but definitely impacted the crowd, my group was about half as big as it would have been if it was at Lakeside. Also they need to sort out the viewing.... the hill is useless.

My understanding is that Esteban is gone and the decision was made before the grand final to part company.

Sawyer will also join Macarthur as soon as South plays its last cup match.
