+x+xVery late post, have had a lot on of late and posting on an online soccer forum has taken a back seat, but obviously very happy with the Marconi championship. Have said it many a times but Temelkovski is a great striker, lots of potential, great technique and movement. Sad he’s leaving to west Sydney, but that’s football, wish him well, it’s deserved.
Theoretically I’m not a fan of this method of deciding the champions, obviously first past of the post is fairest, and rockdale finished top fair and square despite Marconi beating them 9-0 during the regular season. But in practice in Australia, with no promotion spots or continental football to play for, the league is often over by mid season for most teams in a first past the post format. So the finals is good in that regard. Plus the gfs are occasions which the sport desperately needs in this country
Also as a side note, despite the trophy, still not personally a fan of tsekenis managerial style.
I guess now we wait and see what the league structure looks like next season
9-0??? What was the story there? Absolutely nuts match. well worth a revisit for the highlights. https://www.google.com/search?q=marconi+v+rockdale+9+nil&rlz=1C1CHBF_en-GBAU863AU863&oq=marconi+v+rockdale+9+nil&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQIRigATIHCAIQIRigAdIBCTgzNjhqMGoxNagCCLACAQ&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:2d3092f5,vid:PXa-yTKJSyU,st:0

Take the win brother.... it was a season of two halves for Marconi.... Came home with a wet sail and worthy champions... Bring on 2025... The loss in the cup to APIA still frustrates me.. I get the sense we could have gone on a run if we’d gotten to the national rounds. Both Marconi and Olympic still haven’t really had much luck in Australia cup as of yet…just such a cut throat competition, which of course is also what makes it great, a true football purists comp

9-0??? What was the story there? TAB Sports Betting Certainly wouldn’t rule it out knowing soccer in this country. Not to feed the conspiracies but whole thing was just bizzare, the reason the match was a mid week catch up in the first place was that it was “washed out”…at the time Rockdale cried foul and weren’t happy with the postponement ..the pitch certainly wasn’t that bad at all, was a carpet all season..particularly given that Sydney united v Rockdale covid grand final was able to be played there in much worse conditions

for those not on the pulse for '25 season on re NSWPL. The PPS for NPL clubs has been replaced for next season by the Player Roster Principles meaning- 5 Players under 23 with 2 of them being under 20 being named in the first team match squad- No Visa goalkeepers- 2 Visa players + 1 either from the AFC or OFC- 3 Homegrown players (players that spent 3 seasons between the ages of 15-21) to be included in the first team squad. This same in each State fellas ?

Next year they will insist that NPL clubs have at least 3 right footed full backs under 19 in the match day squad.... ffs... football is a joke in this country

The new rules of having an Australian goalie is so strange to me. Did we have an abundance of international goalies signing to NPL clubs? Have we historically been crap at producing goalies? (no)

hahahahahah What's a Royals membership run for these days, $150? The yayo on the other hand..... well builders gotta do what a builders gotta do... It all sort of explains the "noise" about Royals ground access from a couple of years ago and how it all suddenly "got resolved" ... Bloody Italian clubs ... all mafiosi. hahahahahahahahah

+xto the melbourne NPL followers; Thoughts on Zander Guy who played at Avondale? Better on the wing than striker in my opinion. Was better at Dinamo as he "got lost" in Avondale's stable of players.... He'll do well back in QLD again I reackon.

Looks like the first international goalie to have his life ruined by FA this year.

yer all I can get is paste this up.... ‘Career is basically gone’: Star goalkeeper’s NPL dream in strifeOne of the leading NPL goalkeepers in the country is set to face the tough decision of whether he continues to play in Australia after a shock Football Asutralia ruling was made which impact Visa goalkeepers. Seriously WTF they brought that rule in. I get supporting up and coming locals but it all comes down to performing - if your good enough you force selection. In the meantime your training with a fellow better GK no matter having a passport from elsewhere.

Eg “the strikers in Australia can’t score as often, so maybe if we limit the goalkeepers able to come into the country they can score more and look better.” of course, as someone noted earlier, GK is probably Australia’s strongest ever position, so is a weird thing at all to curtail
