+xI liked the idea of Baccus the RWB and after 5 mins of it I'm not so sure. Think he's done OK so far.

We probably won't hold 2nd spot but we are now in striking distance if we get points off saudi

Always hurts to give up a lead but would have taken a draw in Japan any day.

well we did well in defense which is great
but I thought yazbek was brilliant. We are improving with so many young players breaking through at a young age

Massive point. Deflating in one way but a win would never have been deserved but that's football.
Felt Australia employed their plans better than Japan did.

Great result that. Gutsy effort, save the own goal, the back three were colossal, especially Burgess and Souttar.
Thought Yazbak played well when he came on, Bos had a great game, so too Mcgree.

How has Geria not made this squad earlier. He was bloody excellent.

Baccus at RWB was alright. Baccus is quick but it showed how much quicker Japanese player was. Hadn't occurred to me but Hill said Endo was missing. Most disappointing was the number of times we turned it over down their end but to never get into spaces.
Sucks for Burgess as he had a good game. If cross is lower it's off his boot and away. Height, speed and proximity of cross in the kill zone.

599 passes to 239. 71 to 29 poss.
Wish we'd been able to get more shots away. Goodwin suspension sucks. Hrustic had to come off. Had we lost we'd be annoyed about some rookie winger being on (eventhough likely not at fault)
Bos has secured his spot. Baccus and others to take over RWB. Geria must have a sore head, what a performance! The fact someone can come in an apply themselves that way is nothing short of true professionalism.
McGree with some good touches in close areas. Better support would see more chances created.

You've got to feel greedy in those moments. While it was goalless I was begging for a draw. Took that lead and didn't dare check the live table. In hindsight a big point and learned so much tonight.

China lead Indonesia 2:0 on 44 so that's also a nice dent to the latter nearer to us.

Height, speed and proximity of cross in the kill zone. Way off the pace of the Japanese wingers. It made me think Atkinson is best suited to the role if the opposition has that pace/quality.

Those angles of their goal. Ueda had it lined up but damn. A knee, shin grave and the ball probably bobbles diagonally wide or goes through.
Reminiscent of 2013 in ways but that ending was horrible at the time of that campaign.

Pretty good defensive display.
I'd say Gauci has just claimed the gloves for the next ten years. He was great.

They clearly better but I thought we didn’t look under crazy pressure or a goal coming any second.
Good to see so many a-league players step up.
