i bumped into ante kovacevic and frank juric at tigerlils on friday night lol ... both generally top blokes ... ante is tall ... and frank is just unbelievably massive haha had a good convo with ante about random topics lol .... - firstly asked him how his liking his new role ... he said he loves it and its good to do the football side of things ... said his always flat out though - talked about how good the signing of sterjovski is and when his gonna start training with the squad and how his sorting out stuff now in england - asked him where the team trains in adelaide for the round 1 clash :) - talked about the formation and where sterjovski will play ..... and i said it will be tough to bench jelic or dadi .. and he said ... he honestly doesnt know ... thats dave mitchell's side of things - talked about chris coyne! ........ he said that dave mitchell has definitely spoken to him ...... which is great ..... BUT .... he said to be honest .... its highly unlikely that we will get him coz he wont fit under the cap - i also made sure i mentioned to him that ivan ergic is available :) haha ... so he knows that now ... and he said he heard about that .... (i bet i was the first to inform him haha) .... and yeh he said his a great player and all that but once again ... i think they got bugger-all money left to spend in the cap ... and yeh .... good bumpin into those 2 giants .... and thankgod i bumped into them when i was partially sober lol also ... check this out haha ... branko jelic great goal! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=226uA64JdtM&feature=PlayList&p=4A41D5B963A64E48&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=10phewww .... i think that post makes up for a weekend's worth of no posts lol

Dadi is an amazing guy. i've bumped into him a few times and each one hes been so sociable. I wonder which of he or Jelic will make way for Sterj. either one would be annoying. Thats a good thing i find from Perth Glory players. whenever you bump into them its always easy to have a chat with them.

Heh, I used to play indoor at the same centre as Ante. He works (or used to work) in IT like myself... watching his matches you've got to feel for opponents; you bust through the line and receive a nice pass, turn to bear down on goal and you've got friggin Ante Kovacevic waiting to absolutely monster you.
He might be 35 and a bit slower now than in his prime, but he still does a great job for Floreat in the state league.

One of the young guys that I think was signed this season (excuse my ignorance, but I'm not sure which one) subbed on last season and my friend pointed at him and claimed he played Futsal against us once or twice.
From memory he was in a team that didn't require a keeper, and absolutely thumped us.

Any Glory members recieve their tickets and not got their preference they wanted?
I have 4 other people going with me and we tried for E6 and got EE6. It's not that big of a deal, but I would have though I would have been contacted, maybe to see if I could get something in a different section, same proximity to the pitch. So much for members priority/preference tickets.
I know MES is small so even the top row get a great view, but I still would have liked to have been notified. I just hope they don't do the same with my membership seats.

Edited by corrupt.ELEMENT: 22/6/2009 01:12:08 PM yeh that happened to me for the EPL friendlies also ... i got 13 tickets ... and wanted EE7 but got E8 .... i dont mind ... still centrally seated anyway and still should have great viewing of the game .... at least all 13 of us are in the same row, and still fairly good seating so i dont mind ....EE6 or EE7 would of been much preferred though lol

Edited by corrupt.ELEMENT: 22/6/2009 01:12:08 PM I didn't specify the seats I wanted, only that I wanted Gold seating. The girl on the phone said they knew which were the best ones and would just allocate the best first... I ended up getting e6 I think, but there are only 3 of us. Inregards to Ercig and Coyne not being able to fit under the cap, maybe Glory could try what a lot of NRL clubs do... Just before the season starts a lot of players fall out with the coach or deals in the UK fall through, but most NRL clubs have little room under the cap to pick up the quality players so they offer them a contract for a year playing for peanuts while giving them a significant pay rise for a contract of say three years to make up for the year playing for peanuts. Both have strong ties with perth and Coyne has already mentioned Perth as his preferred HAL destination. You would think both would be long term prospects, Ercig could even be glory's midfield general for the next five years.
With a number of players on one year deals including Dadi (who I unfortunatly doubt will be offered another deal) and Sikora there will be money to play with in the future. But I have to admit nowhere have I read that Ergic has stated his plan is to come back to WA.

Yeah, get Coyne on a season long loan, then end of season he returns to Colchester for the extra football he needs, vis a vis ensuring a WC place. But around then we seek to gain Coyne on a permanent contract, for 0 transfer fee, for the 2010/11 season. Hopefully he negotiates a release from the final year of his contract, which the following 2010/11 season will be.
It's a shame Glory signed Todd soo early - maybe he might retire end of the next season, so ensuring Coyne can be fit within our cap, our backline is freshened up a bit and Harnwell still sees minutes.

From the perth glory site:
Some of the best players in the world will be stepping onto Members Equity Stadium including Socceroos hero Mark Schwarzer, who’ll be in goal for Fulham, while former Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler will be in town with his new side North Queensland Fury.
This seems carefully worded so as not to say Fowler is actually playing. Does anyone know if he will be?

E7 Row D for the friendlies - almost identical spot to my old season tickets in the first A-league season.
Bit of a shame about the ticket sales, 10k is quite low. Perth don't know how lucky they are sometimes.

im sure ticket sales will pick up a week before the games, im certain the fulham game especially will sell out. as for robbie fowler playing man he must be decaying pretty quickly. with him not even being able to put 20 mins in friendlys you would have to wonder about his fitness. i hope for nth qld and the rest of the league he can get his act together before the start of the season. oh but in regards to him playing here im highly doubtful they would keep him for home fixtures.

Ticket sales are going well and we expect another spike now that the individual match tickets have gone on sale. Been there, done that ;)

Heh... no, literally- been there and done that. That's the response I got 2 days ago :) The answers were included in the latest blog I sent to the site, which never appeared... :| But there's no point in putting it up now as it was a look into the Inglewood game and that was a week ago, and my new blog is nearly ready...
