Are most people going to the Wolves v NQ game at 5:15pm as well? I would imagine so, considering the tickets are for the two games.

I know I've said it before, but for those who didn't know - it is unlikely that it will rain during the game tonight, from my extensive research of about 20 weather websites. We could get a little drizzle, but not as much as we did last Friday, so don't stay away because of the weather, unless you're scared of the few droplets we might possibly get.

Hard to say really, considering we've only seen him for 45 mins in total - but by the amount of times he got caught offside, and his extremely forward positioning, I would say he's a kind of run-on player in the similar like to Rukavytsya - as in, balls get put through, and he runs onto them. Had a brilliant one-on-one chance in the second half, but got the ball stuck, then when the defender came to tackle he did a brilliant turn and shot, but the keeper saved it. Other than that, didn't have much influence. You're right though, awesome name!

I believe he plays/played for a state team (I think eamon mentioned him on LTF this week or last?) so someone must have seen more of him than what we got on Friday night.

Yeah indeed he does.
i have a mate who played with him in the state team.
he said he was pretty skillful and quick.
one of the better players in the youth state set up apparently.
he didnt say his style of play as such though.

hopefully ....

its still pre season so wether we win or not the result doesnt matter ...
i know sydney thumped the fury 4-nil.... but they did look impressive in that second half against the wolves.

i obviously hope we win ... dont think it will be the easiest game though.

.. and we dont have burns ... burns is quality and holds up the centre really well.... so therefore we may have to play sikora and pellegrino out of position again like the game against fulham

That would be delicious. [-o<

I want to echo what somebody else said (forgot who sorry) - I'm keen to see this Perth side work some clear openings for goal - play their way through another team's defence. We haven't seen that much this preseason. (7-0 against Dickburn soooo does not count).

I'm thinking it will take a while for the quality to shine through. But when it does...

Great job guys, I was viewing updates from both streams.

Next time if there are multiple people doing updates it would be great to get them together to alternate tweets for more regular updates. This time the updates were pretty much the same, except where either Harnwell or Sterjovski scored... and then where either Harnwell or David Mitchell were stretchered off...

I get the feeling, looking at today's paper, that this next match could be a bit of a slaughter going the way of Gold Coast United.

Mitchell seems to have been a bit shaken by the injury of Harnwell, and given that Burns, Jelic, and some of our young stars have niggles / are lacking match fitness, we might see a Glory "B" or "C" team front up against GCU. Bit of a pity, but I guess I understand why the coach would be reluctant to lose any of his big signings.

Hopefully the younger lads can put on a good show and stake a claim for the starting XI (or the bench at the very least).

Mile Sterjovski urges A-League players to seek pre-World Cup loan deal
By Adrian Warren
July 20, 2009 Mile Sterjovski says even those who don't fancy their chances of making Australia's World Cup squad should consider a loan stint overseas after the A-League season.

The domestic competition is scheduled to finish on March 20, almost three months before the start of the World Cup in South Africa.

Sterjovski, who has returned to Australia to play for Perth Glory, said he would definitely look to go on loan in that period berfore the World Cup, though he hadn't given much thought yet to where he would play.

"If you want to be part of the World Cup squad you've got to think about those things and you have to go out and play until the World Cup and play regular football," Sterjovski told reporters in Sydney.

"I think that's very important, even for players who might not think they are in the running to be in the World Cup squad, I think they should even look at going out on loan until then."

Sterjovski said he had made a financial sacrifice to return to Australia.

"Financially in Europe, there's much more money, even in Asia there's much more money," Sterjovski said.

"But you have to make these sort of decisions to find out what's best for yourself for the future and I've never made a decision based on money in my career and I have put the Socceroos ahead of anything."

Sterjovski was in Sydney for the announcement of the sponsorship of the Young Footballer of the Year Award by the NAB.

Several of Australia's most promising young players were present, including Gold Coast United striker Tahj Minniecon, who has just recovered from a dose of swine flu.

Minniecon will journey to South America later this week for a Young Socceroos tour.

"I'm feeling good and I will definitely be on the plane on Wednesday," Minniecon said.

While his club wanted him to stay at home, Minniecon said he would have been disappointed not to play for the Young Socceroos as he was always excited to play for his country.

The exciting attacker revealed there had been no sympathy among his team mates after he came down with swine flu.

"There was a lot more teasing than anything else," Minniecon said.
