yeah got my membership today might as well been just a regular day of junk mail. membership was cheaper this year but then again there is no public transport included. im thinking its very convenient that all this bad news of the transport and the packs are just coming out now at the last possible moment before our first home game.

The Worst is saying today that Risdon is 2 months, but not ACL issue.
But the other question is whether they have all gone too early again with the Gallas story and announcement when not yet signed.
Early forecast is for a mostly sunny 27 degrees on Sunday, so should be plenty of sunbathers soaking it up in the new stands. That'll be almost quarter time water break stuff for the 'Eart boys coming here.

So what happens next week? Does Davies come in to replace him, or will CLisby/o'neill play RB?

If we have gone early with this Gallas story and he doesnt end up signing, does Sage go in for another Marquee? He has shown his cards

If there's one available I think he'd go for it. Any news on Thwaite for this weekend? If Gallas comes and makes the defense stronger maybe we could play 4-1-3-2 with Smeltz playing with Maclarren once he's back?

we always drive to games so the public transport thing doesn't affect us but its disgusting to take something like that away from the fans.
It is with out a doubt the best initiative I have seen from Glory. Our gold memberships went up this year and these packs are pathetic. And the public transport thing is salt in the wounds of glory fans.

The no public transport thing has been public for months now. I'm not surprised, though, that Transperth is reminding people of it now.

The PT thing is just a bunch on bullshit to do with cost cutting. GA tickets last couple of seasons never included free public transport so members not having it is the last step in canning it all together.
It's all image shaping anyway. Lower down prices for a selected few who stand in the shed, meanwhile, now that we have a full stadium, make more of the stadium "Gold" areas, which had an increase in price.

Should also comment, that the way Sage handled the Gallas signing was great. Nothing mentioned until he was about to be signed. That's what you want from your CEO. None of this Beckham, Kewell, Giggs stuff like before.

So I take it that it is official - Gallas for 1 year announced at training. I'm always sceptical, especially when it says subject to passing fitness test, subject to finalising a contract, but apart from those 2 minor bits, it's all systems go.

Gallas was immense for Spurs, great ability and great attitude (unlike his time as a Gooner), but he did cop some injuries in his second season there. IF he is fit he will be great. Not sure how long that will take.
Interested to know the motivation for this. Are Sage or the coaching staff getting nervous about our squad after 2 rounds? Or does Sage want him to try and boost the gate? Panic buy, or just moving on him when he became available?

Now if Sage can just time one of his outbursts to coincide with Perth being shafted by FFA with the Socceroos game that never was, he'll be on a roll.

OI! Glory ARE the biggest club in Australia! Longest, proudest history of the 'now' A-League-based clubs? CHECK. 17 years and counting - oldest and best, no doubt baby! Most success, successful club history of the 'now' A-League-based clubs? CHECK. Glory were drawing the crowds, making and eventually winning 'Grand Finals' before an A-League was conceived. THE club which helped instigate the seeds for reform and which one can argue the formation of the A-League can recognise, in-part, is a legacy of this club's success? CHECK. Glory's success, example, was a blueprint for all to follow and likely helped inspire the Crawford re-boot. Glory were the shining light in dark times and that light lead to the 'bright lights' we now see in the A-League. Singe state club from the biggest state in the country. CHECK. Yeah baby, the Western Hemisphere of Australia, the country of Western Australia! The same single state that was basically carrying this economy the past decade or so. CHECK. We're the biggest and the best baby, even still! Carrying the others! One of the most isolated capital cities in the world - we do it our way! We don't even do Daylight Savings - F them over east, we work by our own time! :p 'Boom' state = Big and getting bigger + Resources Magnate as owner, part of this booming economy. CHECK! Most expensive place in Australia to live (And up there in the world), given our 'boom times'? Check! Even Mr Gallas will experience this! WA IS big, literally and otherwise. We're the sleeping giant of the country, only JUST arousing now! AndyToddsElbow wrote:Should also comment, that the way Sage handled the Gallas signing was great. Nothing mentioned until he was about to be signed. That's what you want from your CEO. None of this Beckham, Kewell, Giggs stuff like before. I concur! Glory and Sage are due their compliments for once. They did a great job here, even better than most clubs (Not just their own form), to keep this quiet till the announcement. First class stuff and harking back to an age, that, well, we actually haven't seen in soo long - given the tenancy for near everything to be leaked somehow or another, via Social Media, regular media, fans with connections, or what not. Word spreads soo fast these days. So great job here, pleasing to see. It also has added benefit of, ironically, less pressure, expectation on the player and flipside less risk of the deal collapsing due to being outted earl. The former point, expectation, is great - given the player has had no pre-season and has been out of the game a long while. Despite his obvious quality and experience, he's quite a variable due to his fitness and age. He could easily, FORBID, see injury early into his spell and his game count for the season end up in single digits. I HOPE NOT. But hence it good he's only on the single season deal too. So again, if there was a big build up, hype and coverage on this in lead up, then 'the let down' would be greater once he graced the park and broke down/didn't meet expectations. He's also ONLY a defender/defensive half player too, so he's not an ADP, Ono or even Heskey for attacking half 'highlights' flair. So, all the 'Euro snobs' will know him, even some 'Sports Fans' but the mainstream press etc... wouldn't know or may struggle to get caught up, when he don't have the highlights of some of them.
