Well that’s certainly just taken us right back to last season. Have no idea what our strategy or game plan was, a complete jumble, did we have one? Strange team selections too. Don’t have a problem selecting Cam Edwards to start for the 4th time this season, but half the stuff from last week was about him getting favoured treatment even when he was only a sub. And the complaints about Zahra not getting a game after scoring, well if Sidnei is fit enough game day, he should be on the pitch. And Burns, an absolute, unbelievable shocker. You looked old, you looked slow, heaps of overhit passes, and you spent most of the match pointing to everyone else to pick up players, and merrily gave paddocks of time and space to any Adelaide player near you. Extremely disappointed if anyone thinks we’ve just taken a step in the right direction.

I dont know where the extra 1000 were, but I couldn't see them.

After a fucking shit week, in front of 9,400, we serve up some of the worst fucking shit. Absolute fucking borefest, nothing going forward at all. Did it look like more people than last week? Reckon attendance was doctored... I thought it was a bit suspect too.

I was massively disappointed when Ali was sacked, but I went to the gameto support my team. I expected a big game from the four senior players that drove the revolt, but I walked away seething!! I though the guys would be fired up to show everyone that they were right, but they just looked comfortable to sit their and take it easy. McGarry got a full 90 playing in his PREFERRED position. It was immediately evident why Ryan Edwards has been starting at no10. Ryan's work rate is far superior to McGarry's and he didn't offer much in attack either. Burns was woeful, and Thwaite and Vuka spent most of the second half arguing!!!!

Not a chance, there were more than usual in the family stand and the east stand definitely had more than the nix game the other week.

Mcgarry had a decent game, Cam Edwards looked lost in a more attacking role and was continually trying to drop back rather than move forward to help McGarry. Burns was solid as usual, Clean sheet so job down for Vuka and Twaite. McLaren is a stiker all out of luck/confidence and needs to drop into the NYL. I haver never been sure of his ability because preseason his goals came against state league opposition. Nagai was his usual poor self. Harold didn't have a great game. Sidnei came on and gave us a little spark but that was all. On paper a draw against the team that scored 4 against current champions last week should be a decent result but the perormance was just plain flat.

I doubt McGarry even managed to get one pass to it's intended target. I've never seen him play so badly.

McGarry was shit. That CM three were all pretty average. And that's being nice.
Thought Harold and Woodcock were our best. Davies played well at times. Even then, you can't really say anyone played well.

McGarry was woeful as he has been most of this season, burns was also ordinary. I would expect more from two blokes who think they DESERVE to be part of the side more so than the manager. There was no fire there, the crowd deserved a big performance from those two and it was sadly lacking.

Woodcock was very good as well, barring that one horrific pass across the top of the box late in the game. Here is the reason that the calls of nepotism are bullshit... Our best players this season- Jamieson, Vuka, Sidnie, Davies, and Thwaite. None of those guys are central or attacking mids, Burns, and McGarry have been poor by their standards. Ryan Edwards was one of our best in the first few games but has tapered off, Cameron has been good without being sensational. Harold wasn't great yesterday but has been brilliant at times, but still inconsistent. Zahra has been pretty average other than against Wellington where he was very good. Not a single midfield player has outplayed the other, Burns act of thuggery left the team short of experience for two weeks. The entire midfield have been underperforming for most of the season yet people complain that Ryan Edwards was getting game time but not about McGarry? Guys like McGarry and the O'neills and Zahras and even Cernacks can no longer hide behind the excuse of nepotism, it's time for them all to step up and deliver!!! I'm concerned about McGarry.
He has started in the more advanced midfield position twice now and both times looked a shadow of Ryan Edwards at his worst, let alone his best. He has done passably in the deeper midfield position (as Rooster9 has said- our midfield is our weakest performing area. Passable is a compliment) but I'd struggle to justify his position in the match day squad.
In the deeper positions I'd have Cam over him at the moment, Burns as well (on form and ability, discounting what may or may not have gone on in the last week.) In the advanced position in the absence of Ryan I'd put Maclaren in there with Harold or Makeche up front. I don't think using a bench spot on McGarry is productive as he is hardly an impact player.
McGarry hasn't offered enough to suggest he should be offered a new contract and time is fast running out to change that situation.

On a positive note, I felt Clisby's effort against Adelaide has been rather underrated. One of the kid's better matches for us.

The game was an un-inspirational nil all draw. Burns had a mediocre game; his passing was woeful. However, he did make two forward passes, which is two more than usual. He also made several others that were shockers. He made a great last ditch tackle, but it looked ugly. Overall, our inspirational Captain was decidedly uninspiring. I wonder why?
McGarry played. But I didn't notice him for 80 minutes of the game.
Maclaren is out of form but the service he is getting can be described as shit-sugared.
The elder Edwards lad played and Burns and he barely exchanged a word during the game. Edwards ran out of legs and was subbed around sixty minutes by O'Niell, who looked good and deserves more game time.
Sidnei came on and looked solid. He will be better for the short gallop. Nagia has apparently dona a hamstring and that will be him for 8 games the way he was carried off. Zahra complained loud enough and came on, he got off a shot or two but was otherwise ineffective.
Thwaites didn't do too much. But was serviceable. Clisby looked much better and more secure in his role. Give him more games and as his confidence increases - I think he will get better.
Davies and Woodcock were targeted by Adelaide. Woodcock did well, apart from a tragi-comedy of a square ball across the box at the end. Davies was targeted in the second half and while he was exposed twice, he fought back and came out around even.
Our central midfield was like the Bermuda Triangle. You know where it is but when the ball goes there it somehow gets lost forever to us!
Vuka did make some great shotstops but he has weak foot skills.
Overall, the youngsters did well. The senior players were there usual collective mediocre self.
