So Madaschi seems to be out of the equation. Clisby to be cover for Woodcock and Gallas. And with Gallas likely to be out on the weekend we have no one to cover LB and CB.

I have not been past Glory training for a while so can't say if Madaschi is still training with the club. The last I heard was that Glory and him were in negotiations. I would assume that with the release of Cernak his IR contract could now be a full contract. Can anyone here confirm they've seem him still at Glory training?

Nate wrote:From the West Australian today: Quote:·Football Federation Australia announced yesterday Glory's home game against Newcastle Jets on March 30 had been pushed back from 2pm to 4pm.
Glory officials had previously expressed concern over the potential for high temperatures for the afternoon fixture. Nice to see we got some action on something like that. Well, not really as I explained to the CEO before Christmas. The original FFA fixtures have this as a Saturday night fixture, just as the changed pre - Christmas match was a Saturday night game. Many fans will still be unaware of this change, particularly those that downloaded the original FFA fixtures and make the logical assumption that them's the dates that matter. The CEO told me of the 2.00 to 4.00 time change for that Sunday, and I replied with "but we haven't got any Sunday home games after Christmas, they are all Saturday". I'm of the belief that FFA wouldn't give a Rats now what time you play Sunday, since Glory seem to have readily given up 2 of their Saturday evening fixtures for no reason. As for the forecast 41 degrees for Sunday over east, oh, we'll have a drinks break. Time to warn our new recruits again that they're not to worry when everyone runs off the pitch after 20 minutes. "FFA follows a heat policy that was developed and implemented by the FFA Head of Medical Services, Dr Jeff Steinweg and which is consistent with the American College of Sports Medicine’s Position Statement," Head of A-League Damien de Bohun said. "This policy is guided by the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) which takes into account the air temperature, humidity, wind, and radiation to provide a more accurate indicator of the risk of heat related injuries. "This policy suggests a WBGT of 28 degrees as the point above which a game should be considered being postponed.

Something I don't understand is that at the start of the season, Jason Brewer was being lauded as an excellent addition and a top CEO for the club.
Is the general fan consensus that he's all show and no substance, or that Tony Sage and the directors are regularly interfering and making decisions above his head that they shouldn't be touching at all?
Glory seem to desperately need someone at management level who is a football person to act as a definitive boundary between what happens with the club's first-team and what's happening in the owner's box.

Personal opinion, he's a nice guy and easy to talk to, which is good for fan engagement - covers the pandering to active support and demanding fans (myself included at times) quite well... But I fear he's too tightly coupled with Sage and the rest of the board to be the effective breath of fresh air the club needs.

Just heard on the radio that three of Sage's companies were raided by the federal police yesterday. One of them have Brewer, Elias and Sage as directors. Ah, the joys of having a wealthy benefactor. :-"

Is it time to start partitioning the FFA to throw out Sage Palmer-style... and hope that they give the license to someone else in Perth rather than ditching the market altogether?
Based on the last 7 years I'd be happy to see Perth Glory defunct and a new Perth club come into existence... everything likeable about Glory is gone.

There are too many people feeding out of Sage/Brewer's hand to support a petition unfortunately, based on what I see on facebook and fan meetings alone. They're happy to believe whatever they're told, even when what they're told changes. "We've always been at war with Eastasia"http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/21297811/afp-raid-sage-offices-again/Best thing we can hope for is either a) a true breath of fresh air with people truly independent of Sage and Cape Lambert appointed to administer the club, or b) Sage's AFP rabbit hole to turn into something to fail a "fit and proper" owner test with FFA - but let's face it, they're happy to have an owner and ignore Perth as someone else's problem at present.

Mile Sterjovski to retire (at end of season) http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/news-display/mile-sterjovski-to-retire/85220
One of the first of the Socceroos golden generation to return to the A-League, Sterjovksi was adored by Perth Glory fans, who were treated to 63 wonderful matches from 2009 to 2012 which included 15 goals.

Based on the last 7 years I'd be happy to see Perth Glory defunct and a new Perth club come into existence... everything likeable about Glory is gone. Not sure how I'd feel about a new club. Too much history for me, but probably would happily support a new club if Glory continues to be run as JBFC. Would rather continue to support my childhood side and a side with some resemblance of history. That said I would like some rebranding. Don't like our crest.

Wish him all the best, but he was absolute pants for us (both in attitude and ability). Never rated him much for the NT either, but obviously he has played some good football at his time in Switzerland. Edited by GloryB: 6/2/2014 03:26:28 PM

So far this season Burns' has had (going off official site): Rd 1 - Y Rd 2 - Y R7 - 2wks suspension for stomping by MRP R12 - Y, Y = Red R 15- Y R16 - Y R17 - Y
Not sure how its being added up. There are 5 yellows there, leaving aside the two he got when sent off.

Edited by GloryB: 6/2/2014 03:36:00 PM Ultimate A-League doesn't have him getting a yellow in R16 (WSW Away). I can't remember if this is correct or not, but if it is he is only on 4 (which surprises me, but he has missed 3 weeks through suspension and was not played in another)

Bit strange that at least one of the Y,Y->R cards doesn't count against his talley.

I don't know the rules enough, but do players miss a match if they get a red card for a 2nd yellow in a match, or do they only miss a match for a straight red? If your 5th yellow and a Red are together, do you miss 2 matches?
I thought Burns had got his 4th and 5th yellow together (then Red) and so he missed the next match. But then presumed his 1 match ban was because he'd got to 5 yellows rather than a Red, because otherwise he's well over his 5 yellows now if he hasn't missed a match yet because of it.
What I'm really trying to say is, get him out of the team. I don't want us going away, playing the bottom team, stacking everything up, play 1 striker up front, and hope to chance a lucky goal on a quick break. We're playing the bottom team, stop making excuses before we even get on the plane, and go out and try and thump the team. We're history if we can't get a big result against teams like this.

Two yellow cards in a match become a red card and 0 yellows towards your accumulative tally. So whilst he has technically received 6 yellow cards this season, he has already been punished with a suspension for two of them so they do not count towards his season tally for suspension purposes. I may be wrong, but I believe a yellow followed by a straight red (ie: violent conduct, serious foul play) does count the yellow towards your tally as it was not a contributor to the red card and subsequent suspension.

Yeah, YC+RC means both count against your tally. If a 5th Yellow, then both suspensions would take effect. An R7 (2xYCs) send off still carries the Automatic Match Suspension. One you cannot appeal, actually.
