This link is to a photo taken on Wednesday night at the finals of the 6 a side that Burns has put on over summer, doesn't look too isolated to me.

Ha ha ha that'll upset the Burns Haters

What has this got to do with the price of fish in China?

It has nothing to do with the validity of another Burns-Edwards bustup.

And it was an OUTSIDER fan who made a joking reference to Burns being outcast.

Come on...
On another thread it was said that David Davutovic made the "isolated" comment on Kick Off on Foxtel. So not just some random Wanderers fan ...

Burns v Edwards handbags =/= Burns outcast.

They're two different statements.

No need to be rude.

My comment was based on this post in another thread:
"David Davutovic mentioned on Kick Off that Ryan Edwards and Jacob Burns had a fight at training and Burns has become more isolated from the team". I didn't see Kick Off as I was still at work.

Dear Kenny,
Memo - Game Plan
I don't rate Topor Stanley as a player of great skill.
He is tall.
He wins lots of headers, and I mean lots, and especially against smaller players.
Smeltz does not win lots of headers.
Darvy and Sidnei win less than Smeltz.
Therefore, I will be mighty peeved if we start thumping high balls up forward today.
Good luck today

You must be peeved then???

Sage needs to appoint the FT coach NOW.

Get him in and start applying their philosophy.

Burns and McGarry need to go with a view of allowing the coach to get the players he wants for next season whilst he can see what's available now.

Someone who knows how to fix Glory's front third turds.

Think your message only partially got through Shanagar. Sure, we played less long balls from deep, but when we got the ball into the final third, it was crossing, crossing and more crossing.

Only positive for me was that we tried to pass the ball up the park a bit more, with some success, but for the most part, when we got to the final third, we had NFI.

Well done fellas?? After that performance?

I'm too frustrated and exhausted from watching that to even begin giving my thoughts on that game. Might come back tomoz after I've vented a little more on twitter.

Can anyone explain what was going on between the shed and GFU? Saw a lot of shit being thrown around and security get involved, meanwhile the WSW supporters were busy out singing us.

Yes, peeved to the max.

What an absolute load of crap.
To sum up - Thwaites, Risdon and Vukovic had our last 3 shots at goal, or near enough.
Says a lot about us.

And DDS showed in 14 minutes why he should be starting every match.

Was a pretty nifty Tifo actually.

Eh, only groups of note on the FOTS are GFU and Avanti and they're pretty joined at the hip. Shed is pretty dissolute, just an amorphous "right" not so bad side, and the "shit" left-side, which consists almost of arm-folders and other inhabitants of god's waiting room.

Sorry Perth but at the start of the season I was quite interested and exited about the direction the club was going but now I just hope you RIP.

This season was a write off once Edwards was sacked. Lowe had a brief chance, but the fact no stand was taken on Burns and co and couldn't be, due to both precedent and due to the 'interim coach' scenario, meant the 'compromised scenario/team morale' and 'instability' lingered on - RATHER THAN - the 'usual' insta-boost you see with a mid-season change in coach. Players were not fearful or too shaken up to re-unite and push to impress the new regime. Nor did the 'new regime' have 'the authority' needed to re-marshall this rabble and re-organise them in a disciplined way. He's tried, in his own way, with the new recruits - but sadly they are too little, too late and their missed touches, passes and lack of input in games helps us not at all. Maybe they suffer 'late-arriving itis' but instead of a boost, it's another false restart and the 'write off' continues.

It's been about preparing for next season once Edwards left IMHO and it's just continued that way.

We all really doubt Glory and their coaching selection capabilities when the only time they DID stumble onto a good thing, coaching wise, they then ballsed it up and turned on him. The team with one of the best defences/defensive records in the league, pushing for the finals, has fallen apart due to ill-discipline, self-interest and constant instability and lack of authority, support, behind the coaching staff.

Atleast maybe once the coach is appointed, some tough but overdue decisions will be made, on the squad, in view to new season and those necessary decisions will be made, for the better of the team entering into next season.

Indeed.

Burns and Vuka are clear good mates - has been evident through the whole scenario and even reflected in the late bicycle kick from Vuka, provided by Burns' directed headed towards him and the high five after. Mates to the end, fellow Eastern States Mercs. McGarry another beyond peak veteran playing for his contract and struggling at that.

People have just got a bit over-excited putting their spin to suggest 'he's isolated' - he will be far from, not with that 'clique' in existence. If anything it's poor young Ryan who'd be isolated if anybody and indeed he's frozen out from the team and in limbo since Glory tried to release him from his loan early, only for that to be rejected. Now he's in no-man's land with distinctly unfriendly senior team mates!

All good - technically Davutovic may've 'meant' isolated from the team in regards to Lowe and his selections? ;)

Or it was just lazy, generic spin from an Eastern States journo - where the detail here, is far different, as we know, infamously, from the public fall out from before. :/

We couldn't break down the tactically compact and better form Wanderers and it only took them tiring and sitting on their 2-0 lead and only the likes of Thwaite roaming forward to seize initiative with two great strikes on goal edge of the box, forcing better than average saves from Tyson! Thwaite deserved a goal, with one of those strikes!

Burns ego got a boost with his cameo and topped off with his little 'training ground' assist to Vuka for the spectacular but too little too late, bicycle kick on goal.

As Shanagar forewarned - It was same old, predictable. Too slow in transition and switch. Insisting on width, insisting on the tactic of crosses into the box. One of the times of creative joy late in the game was when good ole young Woodcock took some initiative and cut inside a few times, one time laying off to Sernas cutting into the box - where the striker opened a good half chance but flashed wide or earned ANOTHER corner - which, as all game, every cross ball in resulted in NOTHING! ](*,)

No 'playing through' at all and the mid-season signings are all disappointing at present - not sure why - perhaps match fitness/lack of, climate adjustment/fitness issues or still gelling with the team? But #8 Marinkovic was poor and not into the game. Rostyn Griffiths again was slow and too missing touches and the odd pass. Sernas suffered the same issues, when he was subbed on. And even Sidnei has 'caught the bug' and missing passes, touches - though he was voted Supporters MOTM - due to being our main outlet, his crosses were as ineffective as the rest, no matter if they were 'more numerous' and he was not as effective as we needed in cutting inside, seeking to play through.

It was atleast good to see Danny De Silva getting a run atlast AND Riley Woodcock growing into his role and in confidence! Young Riley was one of the few ones to come out unscathed, IMHO, and he and Sidnei were combining to an ok degree - though as we pushed Riley did too and contributed more on the overlap.

McGarry was poor as seems custom nowadays? Infact so much so I hardly noticed him so was wondering who, Marinkovic aside, was the second player, subbed off was for the dual-sub of Burns and Sernas just after h/t!

Gallas - boy oh boy. You expect no more technical quality that your Marquee man and he had a shocker within that 5 minute period. He accidentally knocked a goal-bound ball away from their own goal mouth! That would've made it 1-1 around the 70th something min mark. Then only 1-2 mins later, that now infamous air swing gifting Juric - immortalised in the likes of ATE's sig!

With performances like that and the continuing struggles for the team - he could be another of the growing list who's contracts are no renewed beyond this season. I just hope it inspires him to play in the form of his life, in the remaining games of the season and make his Marquee status/wage semi-worthwhile! [-o<

I may sound unfair, he is far from the problem - but it's an outcome and contributor to the wider team failure. From front to back, back to front - it's a dysfunctional team who's season ends more towards the trajectory of oblivion/write off rather than Top 6!

I don't know what the waiting game is around the coaching appointment? Maybe they're canvassing Hierro or others of the like? But again, it's a mystery as to what their actual 'coach selection process' is - informed by what parameters, who is judging/assessing these candidates? How wide is our net - what's the pay scale?

Can't Bernd Stange be coaxed? Or is he content in semi-retirement/retirement now? :/

Maybe, once/on condition of Burns, Zahra, McGarry and some others leaving, somebody like Gareth Naven can return to the club, this time in the senior role? He has the credentials and more than enough NYL coaching/senior assistant experience!

That may take the club admitting their were wrong or some such though - so unfortunately can't see that happening. :/

So that explains the make up?

Was wondering - The Shed a bare shadow, if that, of it's former self? But later in the game they arced up, when GFU had pretty much retired?

They were more 'active' or 'standing' atleast, The Shed, in the games I attended earlier this season - but tonight was kind of disturbing, just seeing the entire Shed sitting there like the rest of us in stands!

GFU reflected the frustation of the evening, with a flare finally being let off. Not good, ugly and typically juvenile. But same time just emblematic of the night, the feeling and frustration, on and off the pitch I guess.

Indeed - A small but passionate contingent. They tried, but still too small a contingent travelling here - they put on their Wanderers show but were dead for periods too.

Their doing the 'Who do we sing for" "We sing for Wanderers' 'self-chant' amongst the 20-30 of them was rather hilarious, I must say. Pointing back and forth within their small group!

But now I'm being a poor sport and redirecting frustration outward. Good on them for making the trip! I'd only want to see more of them, packing out the Away Bay, to show up our sorry crowd and rile some motivation and perhaps even the sorry bunch on the pitch! The Wanderers Away fans bring it in droves with their Eastern States games - but the true tester is coming here, and so far only a few dozen - still have room for growth over here - You Wanderers faithful! Or does CL not cover it? Whoops, there I go again! ](*,)

Agreed with a lot of that GloryPerth.
But this bit, as I thought Burns/father had been in WA for years?
"Burns and Vuka are clear good mates ......... Mates to the end, fellow Eastern States Mercs".

Anyway - highlights from the A League summary -

Western Sydney Wanderers cruised to an easy 2-0 win over Perth Glory at nib Stadium on Saturday night despite missing a trio of key players.
The Wanderers went into the match without Shinji Ono (illness), Ante Covic (groin) and Jerome Polenz (suspension), but had little trouble dispatching a lifeless Perth side playing to keep their season alive.
It was the seventh game in a row Glory has failed to score in the first half.
Adding to Perth’s wounds, Thwaite picked up his fifth yellow card of the season and will miss next weekend’s away trip to Brisbane.
Glory has not recorded a win in their past six outings and remains ninth on the table with 21 points as their finals hope fade quickly.

The stats say possession was 65% for Glory.
Really - well we did a lot with that.
10 shots at goal by Glory, 4 shots on target.
At minimum 2 of these were in the last couple of minutes which forced saves.
0 shots on target in the first half.

So basically, a team with 3 stars missing, record an easy win away from home with only 35% possession, against a team with everything to play for.

Over to you, our Chilled out leader.

Awful, indeed. Don't even need stats to notice that, though they well back up what we saw.

And only 8.5k at the ground - it's wearing thin with punters, finally but sadly. One of, if not the lowest crowd in what has otherwise been the most promising season, in terms of crowds, for Glory in it's A-League history! But off and on the park, they had to balls it up again, and the reputation takes that dip again!

Meanwhile my bro just inquired about Wildcats membership for next season and a family friend is a member there too. Might be losing two more to the Wildcats at their fancy Arena, at this rate! I'll still come, but again, this club tests the punters!

Agreed with a lot of that GloryPerth.
But this bit, as I thought Burns/father had been in WA for years?

I sound harsh and even naive in this modern, professional sporting realm - where loyalty rarely exists etc... And in that regard perhaps we could respect Burns, where the likes of Colosimo up and leave. But he's arguably only here soo long because nobody East would want him nor were willing to offer what we probably did, back in the day!

They're mercs who are there to serve self, over others. Evident in the recent history, off-field turmoil, especially. Some of the local lads, like Harnwell, they put the club first and he was prepared to play any role for Glory, come off the bench, whatever! He was even Captain and relinquished the role! We don't see Captain Hero doing that now - despite some very compromising, squad morale affecting, circumstances!

They're overpaid mercs - paid a premium when they signed with 'Marquee' Sterjovski and co (Look how Sterj's form and confidence improved, as 'non-marquee' with the Mariners). Fellow Mercs like Heffernan already playing against us with Eastern States opposition. 'Home' is naturally over East, for Burns and Vuka, that's Sydney. They will go back there, once they've departed/retired from Glory, taking their fat savings with them. All remants of the 'Glory Retirement Home' era, with Dodd, infamously, the last of those signings (Rejected his own home club, for our over-generous, multi-year deal and he's been injured ever since!). Though arguably Gallas' signing rearing that era's head!

More Risdons, more Woodcocks, De Silvas - giving their all, pulling their fingers out when the club needs - for the club, the greater cause. Not in-fighting, bitching, tearing down their coaches, forming ostracising cliques against their young team mates... The enthusiasm, vigour and optimism of youth. They see what's happening, they notice, they HAVE to sit back quietly while the elders squawk! Their time will come, soon enough - will help once some of those squawkers, who pick on their fellow young team mates, have gone!

Morale has gone to the dogs - lead by the clique. Lowe tries to break it up and instill his own way, with key new signings in that centre midfield - but too little, too late and seems 'Limbo Lowe' is struggling to instill his authority within this trying scenario. Season was all but a write offf since Edwards - so inevitable for any successor. Lowe has the burden and maybe with his signings and the inevitable clear out coming, the new regime will have an easier job of it, next season. Even if Lowe IS that new regime!
