There is a shock Brewer ducking around the question. Expect to see this in numbers on Wednesday night. Brewer is not the savior certain supporter groups think he is. He is just another Yes man who is linked to Sage through other commitments.

The proof is when Brewer recommended Burns was to receive a fine for his part in the Ali saga. Sage over ruled him.

Until Sage hires someone who actually has experience in football club management and has no other business ties with Sage, it will just be the same circus just different clown running the show.

First memo for this week Kenny, as 10 games in, I'm thinking you're needing more of my pointers.

Got to sort out this game plan.
7 weeks in a row, no first half goals.
I'm tired of the "we're flat", "we didn't turn up", "they got the jump on us", and on and on.
At some stage, it should become apparent that the coach plays a part in making sure the team does turn up.
A great many at the pub on Saturday actually "didn't want to turn up", but we still made the effort.
Don't get me started on the word effort, because believe me, I've been saying F - it quite regularly.

Right, the match.
Brisbane like time on the ball.
Every man and his dog knows it, you've got to have the plan to stop it.
Last match we almost - not quite - matched it with them for shots on goals, and only slightly out - possessed.
I'll say that gives us hope - and ignore we played 11 against 10 for 2/3 of the match.

Match 1, possession was 492 passes to 251, 65% to 35%, 22 shots to 5.
(Glory are mentioned 2nd in each category here in case you are asking).

ie. Put pressure on and close them down as a starting point.

GLORY CRISIS

The Wanderers were aided on Saturday by facing the A-League’s newest basket-case Perth Glory.

After fielding Glory’s youngest ever A-League side and having a team laden with some of the country’s best prospects led by midfield whiz Daniel De Silva, the club hierarchy decided to ditch the plan and target a finals berth.

Hence they needlessly spent around $300,000 on signing Darvydas Sernas, Nebojsa Marinkovic and Rostyn Griffiths in January.

Griffiths I cap cop as he’s a WA local, but the foreigners are going to take several months to settle, at the expense of De Silva, Jamie Maclaren, Ryan and Cam Edwards and the array of young talent there.

A heated bust-up in the Perth Glory rooms just moments after the Wanderers loss on Saturday followed a heated exchange between Jacob Burns and Ryan Edwards at training last week.

Alistair Edwards was silly in signing both of his sons but at least he had a plan for the good of the club.

Kenny Lowe is an able coach and I don’t blame him for this mess — the guidelines are set by owner Tony Sage and his ‘man on the ground’, chief executive Jason Brewer.

Glory is now odds on favourite to win the wooden spoon.

un-fucking believable.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but we've reached a new low, absolutely pathetic.

Also saw someone mention on the Facebook page there was another bust up between players after the game.

David Davutovic realises it, he was the only one to write that Glory have been a basket case since Sage took over, he went on SST(who are Sage's friends) who said they aren't a basket case and he defended himself quite well, and in the above piece he's clearly put the blame on Sage.

Fuck didn't realise people were already talking about the post game fight.

Just pissed myself hearing Lowe say "We've got a good environment, there's a good vibe around the place" in the post game presser

Chaos Theory.

To bring Order, there must be first be Chaos, or, Order through Chaos (Or some such :p ).

Heck, that's a positive - More we fail, the greater chance that the tough decisions will be forced to the surface, the b/w - What we need to do, moving forward - to right the ship or what not.

Glory have never yet 'achieved' the Wooden Spoon and that's more by the fortune/luck of rivals (Like the early NZ teams etc) than it's own efforts! Heck, it took the club seasons to reach the finals in a comp where atleast 50% of the teams could achieve that (Now it's 60%!).

The worst part is, is that it was soo promising under Edwards and the necessary change and evolution was slowly unfolding. But the 'out of left field' spanner in the works that hit mid-season, not from without, but within, just killed the season - right there, right then. You weren't going to get the kind of revival you see at Heart or what not - less it were some kind of miracle mid-season motivator, who again, did enough to achieve the contract next season - by now. So it's slid downhill at a knots taking out Lowe and the rest - maybe that's a good thing as the pretenders/hiding on 'past Glory'/reputation like Burns, McGarry and some others (Lowe included too, perhaps) will be found out and finally shipped out?

The ever continuing uncertainty over the coaching regime, continues to diminish Lowe's authority and prolongs instability at many levels (Not just in-terms the coaching regime, but including these continuing squad bust ups, diminishing moral and growing team disunity). Hopefully more 're-signings' ARE with-held till the new coach is sorted and we're entering early off-season, April-ish, when the squad clear outs are happening, confirmed!

Oh, forgot (Or did not remember) about that. I guess in his relatively short-tenure he's already had his fair share of tests within the role. But again, who COULD perform to the role with the Chairman/Board above or what not? No matter who it is, they have their restrictions I guess. But, 'working within' those - surely he must find some constructive ends.

There clearly needs to be a clear-out and the current, evolving, failure of a season will facilitate that process, end of season.

Who is Andrew Ord, and his claim to fame?
An unbiased observer of the team would say, "grab the youngest one and have a go at him".
I thought Woodcock was getting an absolute runaround by Appiah and then by Hersi.
And what did the coaching staff do to address this ..... exactly.

Time to piss players off not wanting to try.

Hey, let's try some youth.

Where have we heard that before???? ](*,)

I truly want this club to die. I fear the problems are just too much ingrained that whole and drastic changes are needed, starting from the owner.

So I've just read Hopey's piece in the West today.

My god.

Sage says the bust-up between Ord and Gallas is a good thing, because it shows Gallas has passion and cares about the club! What a pity Burns/Edwards didn't show the same thing!

He also states that he doesn't regret signing Gallas, saying "Every club in Europe now knows Perth Glory".

I don't want them to know us at the moment! Fucking hell, we'll be on Latvian comedy soccer shows now!

"Every club in Europe now knows Perth Glory".

Which is of what benefit exactly to every club in Europe?
And of what benefit to Glory?

Seems to be what it's all about really.
Who you are, who you know, who knows you, blah, blah, blah.
What about some performances on the pitch first. I'd rather they knew us for that.
Spin, spin, spin, oh it shows passion.

Just read the article.

Sage pays the bills and is saying he's not getting value for money. ](*,)

Moron.

He's a defender, he's not meant to go around scoring 5 goals a game.

He's been injury prone in the past and has the same injury here.

He's 36yo and struggles in 42C weather.

Seriously, what did he expect signing a 36yo injury prone defender??????

Woodcock is still young. He is not as good defensively as he is going forward. When he does go forward, he's better combining with other players rather than just tearing down the line. I see that as a positive, we need some players who actually look for one-two's etc... rather than just running with the ball into dead ends. Woodcock is there because Jamieson is injured. I have no problem in the staff trying to help Woodcock improve, but you have to instil confidence in kids and if you are going to point out weaknesses, abusing them is not going to do that. Esp when the whole team played poorly. Seems from the reports that Gallas stepped in cos Ord was over the top in his dealing with Woodcok? Or did Ord continue his rant AT Gallas? If so, he is lucky that Gallas didn't drop him there and then.

The whole team didn't combine well. Taking a shot at the youngest and most inexperienced starting player is hardly the way to go. Just like Vuko's abusive rant at Harold in the Heart game was well out of order.

I think Glory fans need to accept that, in its current state, Perth Glory is merely a business owned by Tony Sage and we are its consumers. We are not treated as anything more than that.

If you are a consumer of any other product and are dissatisfied with the quality, you may complain but that's highly unlikely to change anything. The only power you have left is to stop purchasing that product. Then and only then will the message get through that what is going on at the club is not good enough.

The first problem is that football fans often have a misguided view that a club is about its fans... well that might be true for some clubs that are either run by people with genuine respect for fans or where fans have a direct say in the running of the clubs. It simply isn't true of Perth Glory. If you've been a member since 1996, if you never miss a game, if you're a member of a fan club, if you're an ex-player, it doesn't matter... you're still just a customer to this club.

The second problem is that when Tony Sage took over, the club was already in a dire state. Therefore... the core group of fans that will never give up on the club were already the majority of fans at games, so to Tony Sage the club has not necessarily gone backwards under his watch. Indeed... it probably hasn't gone backwards, but it has so much potential to grow that it is heartbreaking for most in the WA football community to see it dwelling in such disgrace for such a long period of time.

If you want change, stop going to games. Go watch state league football instead. Show the FFA and any potential owners of a football club in Perth that there is a passionate and sizeable football community in this state that will brilliantly support a well-run and respectable A-League club in WA, but won't stand for the rubbish that we've had to put up with for almost a decade now.

Some may find this difficult to believe, but I used to rail against - very hard against - this line of thinking. I thought you supported the club through thick and thin, no matter what.

But in the last two years I've realised that the above is completely correct. Glory's not in my blood, as it might have been if I was brought up in the UK, and I have plenty of other pursuits I could spend my time on and other sports (or football leagues) I could watch. Thus it's a business and if the business pushes their customer too far, they lose them. Far from being a promoter, you become neutral, then you become an outright detractor. And that's where I'm at for the moment unfortunately, with precious little that can bring me back besides high-level change.

Pretty much sums up my thinking too.

CBF going to games any more and will watch at home if there's nothing else on and I'm not doing something else more important. Just not a priority.
