^ Agreed - travel, schedule and some subsequent rotation may be behind it? Not sure when McLaren arrived back from Olyroos duty either. Often players who have come back from long distance travel, like international duties and a longer period away, are only slowly brought back into it. From other reading, is Sidnei fit and training yet?

Sidnei was in the squad but omitted. Just back from injury this week so hopefully the omisssion is due to precaution.

I think the Hersi injury was the major factor in Maclaren not appearing. Without that I think we probably would have seen Nicholls for Garcia and Maclaren for Hersi.

The way the game turned out, it was clear Lowe felt content to defend a one goal lead and even doing that we should have been two goals to the good.

I expect (hope) Maclaren will start on Thursday, Sidnei to come off the bench, Nichols (despite his poor game) in for Garcia (who looks to me like he isn't on the email list for the game plan each week) and Zadkovich left right out. I think that may have been De Silva's first full 90 mins so hopefully that doesn't mean that he will be rested on Thursday.

As Kenny Lowe said after the game, what a long way we have come in a short space of time to be upset at only coming away with 1 point.

Still 2 points dropped and the knives are out, I knew Hotrods would be first to crack.

Read my post.

Not cracking, stating how I feel.

I'll keep the bastards honest and celebrate the good times.

Being a lap-dog is not my idea of being a fan.

Sticking the knife in after dropping two points???

Really, where the fuck did that come from?

But you were never keeping the bastards honest all you were doing is being negative about everything Glory does didn't matter to you that they were doing was for the good you critised one and all. Draw away to Brisbane and what is your response 'is maclaren sleeping with someones wife that he didn't get played'. pathetic

we are top of the league and clearly plenty of room for still more improvement.

Ok, Chairman Begbie. Sorry my differing views to your rose coloured view of the Glory world upsets you so much. I know crossing your fingers long enough and saying positive affirmations 2,134,865 time a day will generally turn things around, so congratulations with that.

You obviously missed the joke regarding Mclaren.

Maybe you need to shag Lowe's wife, or one of his daughters (has anyone confirmed he's got any??? )

any reasons as to why theres a match on thursday night tonight?

Its not a makeup game, and the game will kick off at 4.30pm perth time and people will still be at work?

Was originally supposed to be Tuesday 9 December at 4.30pm. Not sure why it was brought forward, maybe because of cup final on the 16th?

You can hear the naysayers now: "I don't like faded curtains and love waking up at 5am every morning." #-o

Mind you, 5am starts makes it a breeze to fit in 9 holes of golf before work. :-"

Glad the boys finished strong tonight.

Still find it weird that mclaren isn't getting much game time. He won two games for us earlier this season.

A win next Friday and we should go close to 15k the following Saturday. Absolutely epic turn around. I couldn't be happier.

Great comeback, overcoming a good second half from Sydney and some disgracefully incompetent refereeing.

Surprised we didn't see Maclaren earlier, especially when Garcia was stuffed after 55 minutes.

yeh, thought that was poor too. that pen was BY FAR the most ridiculous of the two, at least for Jamo's there was a clash of legs.

Very good effort again from everyone today. Very glad to get the win after that pen' decision.

Probably not if Sidnei stays fit. Reckon we still need another central defender as cover for Thwaite and Dino.

I think we still have room in the squad for defender as injury replacements are supposed to be like for like.

I think both Clisby and O'neill can adequately cover at CB, even Zad or Griffiths could move back there during a game if need be. Any replacement for Hersi I would hope would be like for like, a player that can and will attempt to get past a defender or 2.

Missed the game, mainly for reasons like you guys discuss above - keep getting caught out by this scheduling, more my fault than anything, busy time of the year.

Another good result. Quite interested to read some of Lowe's comments before and after the match - it's part of waht makes Lowe refreshing and appealing, find his perspective quite agreeable and 'right on'. Couldn't give a rats arse what they think over East, if they want to continue to underestimate Glory then it's only to our benefit!

Saw the highlights - Not quite sure why some of you upset with Smeltz, less his celebration infront of away fans?! :s I understand the culture of respecting your former club, but Smeltz is almost the definition of a 'Journeyman Player' and he technically already has 2.5 former clubs in this league alone (Includ GCU), let alone the many in his career. He didn't leave in the best circumstances from here, overpaid marquee, injured and later under-performing - Glory couldn't necessarily help that, nor in some ways could he. He was a peaked player his value naturally dropped during his time here (Like so many Glory acquisitions - Sterjovski and co) and his departure was best for both parties.

Anyway Glory keep on keeping on and if they say we can only win when we're not facing SFC and Victory... well we just beat one of them, away, bring on the other pretender! We just LOVE Muscie over here! :D *Would be nice if somebody had a gif of Howard Fondyke's career highlight - flooring a timewasting Muscie standing over the ball.*

Fair enough for Smeltz to celelebrate in front of what are now his fans, but no need to celebrate like a twat because you managed to score from the penalty spot against your old team, after a very dodgy decision.

Bit over the top. Anyone seeing that celebration would think he must be up for goal of the season.

Hmm I guess the highlights clip doesn't quite reflect/capture that moment then. Just from the snippet in the highlights I think I get the sense of what you guys mean though. It's the era of professionalism though and there are few more-so than journey-man Smeltz. RE: My comments above - are we really that surprised that Smeltz would act that way?

Perhaps he's just soo relieved to have scored for once in a blue moon - It's not like he scored that many in his last season with Glory. I guess even just starting a match is a novelty for him these days - let alone scoring a goal! :p

That's if. Also I don't think he will be playing in the midfield when he is, but maybe as one of the strikers. But I'd like to see Sciola on the left and DeSilva on the right.

I think someone to replace Hersi is needed, and probably another striker before a central defender. I agree that one of the DM and O'Niel/Clisby will be adequate.

Without Hersi or someone on that right side I think we are missing something. Also we not only need a replacement for Hersi but also for DeSilva when he leaves next year. Hope we do look for some signings during the transfer season.
