Not keep making the same "mistakes" every season.

This season is turning out to be Furgusonesque.

Get high calibre players in, club does well, young players leave, club goes on a slide, no youth from below pushing into the first team to put pressure on, players get old, team slides some more, buy expensive players in lieu of local player development.

Rise and repeat.

The season started off well, but what has happened the past 8 games???? Is Lowe finally being shown up for what he is or have other clubs figure out the one-dimensional Glory game-plan?

Defensively PG are still AOK (except maybe Rison/Jamieson due a rest/break to get their keenness back). It is a worry that I see Keogh more and more isolated each week.

There is that missing link between DM and Keogh, which appear the same problem as other seasons. Maybe Keogh should be partnered up front with Maclaren? They worked well together earlier in the season, but Lowe seems to have moved away from that formation to a lone (and isolated) striker up front.

As ive said before you get a knew boat put it out in calm seas and any captain can handle it along come the rough seas and if the captain is no good the ship starts to sink.
At first with the squod we had which is not to shabby and the way we started it wasent so bad but since then Lowe doesent seem to know how to change it around to suit the different styles played by diferent teams hence all teams have sussed us out and a long ball to now a frustrated Keogh will not do as he is marked by at least two players.
Our midfield are not doing thier job and the defenders are worse now than at the start has he improved the squod i dont think so but all the others have overtaken us on improving as the season wears on no win in eight when you are top of the league is very poor lets hope that we can do something and yes mr Lowe i would be worried.

Bring back Matías Córdoba.

That post is like porn to me.

Been figured out by every team. Was working, still would but there is seriously something missing in front of Keogh. Hersi would often get second, third chances on the ball and then get forward so easily, often behind the back 4. We were playing some scrumptious football with him, but my fear is he'll be back on the injury list in no time. Now can you replace a player like that... like Ben Khalfallah really but obviously not as probably physical

Think we will definitely see Duncan in goal this week.

Can't afford to risk Vukovic with Duncan away with Olyroos after this game (although IMO Thurtell will be better than Duncan very soon, if not right now).

I must've missed something - why was Vukovic not in goals on the weekend? Is he injured?

Variously described as hip injury/quad soreness. Hopefully only the one week.

Contracts up at the end of this year:

Matthew Davies*
Daniel De Silva   joining AS Roma
Jack Duncan
Cameron Edwards
Rostyn Griffiths
Dennis Kramar (V) injury replacement for Diogo Ferreira
Jamie Maclaren
Mitch Nichols on loan from Cerezo Osaka
Dragan Paljic (V)
Riley Woodcock*

Rumour has it that Woodcock is Goneski and Maclaren has been linked with a move away as well. Edwards will go for sure. Would be surprised if we resigned Paljic and Kramar. I'd be keen to re-sign Nichols, Davies and Duncan. I'd be happy to throw another bunch of cash at Maclaren to keep him too. Griffiths is the most important re-signing though.

Do we have Sciola for next season? I thought his contract was up as well.

Griffiths is definitely leaving to try his luck in Europe which sucks, he has been immense for us.

I can't see us keeping anyone on that list but a priority should be to try and make Nichols deal permanent or to get him longer. Good space freed up though to go shopping for next season, I think Ruka and Madaschi may come in

With your 'link-up/Keogh isolation' discussion guys - Isn't that why Marinkovic is there?! And too Nichols!? And with DDS leaving, I guess we all feel that Marinkovic alone, isn't enough? Especially if Hersi's fitness can't be relied on? And dare I say, does Zadkovic help in this area, as he had some good form earlier in the season - linking up and covering some ground?

It just seems soo apparent that Glory will need to utilise another VISA to fill the void DDS will leave and too those slight team functioning issues they currently have?

Fixed with MacLaren removed and I could be wrong, but IIRC wasn't Paljic signed as an IRP for Hersi?!

I'm astounded that Rostyn Griffiths has yet to be re-signed - though I suspect he is another in that kind of 'cap stretching' camp that has seen Glory under investigation. He must be a priority signing, but if they can't and Asia or Europe is calling, then what can you do? Good luck to him if so!

Persisting rumours linking Woodcock with a move over East. :/ Agreed on the temporary VISAs (Kramar and Paljic). I'm not convinced on Nichols, especially if he's worth the value? Nichols would be quite the wage, yet, compare them - who has contributed more in their positions, Griffiths or Nichols? As perhaps that's what it comes down to, in this tighter cap space?!

Good thing may be that Glory will have some VISA spots free, to allow them to strengthen in some weak areas next season. Especially so with DDS gone and too if they see Griffiths depart. Flipside, no Nichols and temporary VISAs, so that may naturally free up some space anyway? :-k

We'll be fine. Can't expect the A-League to consist of only Victorian and Sydney teams.

You eastern staters have plenty to be ashamed of, accusing us for behind the scenes malpractices. You guys get all the support from FFA etc and we are severely disadvantaged already being so far from everything.

Shit and you guys make up the rules as you go along to prevent any other teams of becoming successful. Typical fucking self absorbed deluded Victorian stuff there

Bahh. We got some love from FFA before this season started for being so disadvantaged by travel costs for so many god damn years. I JUST can't see FFA / them throwing the book at us. We've just had a revolution at the club and have finally had the season that every club should be having in the A-League. Sure it might have been handled poorly(?) but we were crying out for this at the club. Before this season started I never thought I would support Glory now I do, credit to everyone at Perth Glory , even the CEO !

I judged our current administrative setup a long time ago, if this turns out to have any weight to it then it merely reinforces my position wrt not giving the club any money. There is zero smugness here, I desperately wanted the club to prove me wrong.

Gee I hope this latest 'Show Cause' news is some kind of elaborate, poor taste, 'April Fools' .... Given we'd already heard about this and Glory should already be dealing with FFA and treading more carefully.

And TBH with all this, if it's true - did we even need to cheat? That's the bemusing thing in all this! It's not like Glory would be too much less, with 1-2 less players. This is why Woodcock and O'Neill are rumoured to be leaving now - this team soo over-abundant with experience, especially in midfield etc... Glory have the luxury in this squad to have the likes of Zadkovich, Nichols, Garcia, MacLaren and perhaps some others, as bench/rotation players. Full strength and Sidnei might even be on the bench, as he was for a period before too. Harold was a bench/rotation option till he saw his chance through injury/ies to Hersi or was it Sidnei's absence?

Same here.

It is not surprising in the least.

If Glory is punished (loss of points, fine, reduction in cap, freeze on new players etc) it will fuck them up for another 2-3 years.

Seems Glory supporters will never have nice shiny things.

Good to see you have resisted the temptation to rush to judgement in the absence of facts (as opposed to allegations).

I judged our current administrative setup a long time ago, if this turns out to have any weight to it then it merely reinforces my position wrt not giving the club any money. There is zero smugness here, I desperately wanted the club to prove me wrong.

Some people plan for the worst and hope for the best others just wear their rose tinted glasses all the time.

Some even take up drinking.

No one approach is better than the other.

Whatever makes the pain go away.

I don't see why if the Club can perform better in [X] Season you would disadvantage it by introducing these shitty salary caps. Do the FFA seriously think our clubs will perform with low paid players.. cheap shit league I say. If the managers want to spend big let em I say

Fuck it will be year 2100 before the league ever gets any where

Without a salary cap we'd either have Sydney and the Melbourne teams winning 95% of the league/titles or a whole bunch of teams spending their way into trouble trying to be competitive. It needs to go eventually, but not until there is actual interest in pouring money into clubs. We still scrape to find owners willing to invest in clubs, most of whom still make a loss despite the salary cap being covered by the TV deal.
