Anytime I spoke to anyone about the Glory I would always say how it was finally good to see a season where some sort of progress was being made. But then all this stuff happens and now we are back to the very beginning, arguably even worse off now. Its just depressing.

It felt like this was the season that the WA community were starting to embrace football. So, so disappointed with today's events. It definitely feels like one step forward, two steps back.

Jesus Christ..
I hope to god this sparks a PROPER supporter and player revolt so Sage finally realises he's an absolute crab and a detriment to the future chances of success for the Glory.
Admittedly, credit has to be given to him for investing a lot of money into the club when no one else would but fuck me, again?
It's so sad to see our club, a club with so much potential, to continue to be run into the ground every year.
I remember watching a recent interview of Tony Sage in which he said something like that he wouldn't give up ownership unless he saw it to be in the club's best interest. Well, here's your chance, Sage, the only thing you can do now that would be in the best interest of Glory's long term viability would be to relinquish control. If that means an FFA takeover then so be it, anything is better than continuing to watch you make the same poor decisions over and over again all the while exhausting the ever dwindling support in the WA community of a club everyone is finding increasingly hard to love. God damn.

Facebook comments that Brewer left the stadium early after getting into a verbal altercation with former goalkeeping coach Neil Young. Apparently, Young screamed "You're scum Brewer" into his face. Also at least two people, a women and a young boy were burned by flares set off at the terrace end. Edited by biscuitman1871: 11/4/2015 01:47:22 AM

So, has Glory been damaged for the next 3-5 seasons. They have let go their better younger players to try and get under the cap and sent Nicholls back. Losing Nicholls is not that much of a biggie as he might have been half the problem this year, but letting go younger players just digs a bigger hole for Glory. They will be left in the position of having to again buy their way out of this mess to try and be successful. That will only keep repeating the sins of the past. Getting rid of younger cheaper players and hiring more expensive experienced players just keeps swinging the whole squad into a short term fix mentality. There needs to be a long term view taken. Sages's short sightedness and greed and put Glory in this embarrassing situation. I just can't ever see this change.

Surely a couple of other senior players will have to leave to get back under the cap as well.

Apparently all players can ask for their contracts to be terminated at the end of the season, because of the Club's "actions". Will be interesting to see if any use it as an opportunity to move on, and how many stick around (that is how many can stick around).

In this story: Here's betting that Glory weren't expecting that Reading would contact Edwards at all in Oman. (and by co-incidence no doubt, but real nice and cute the emails going off while he was nowhere near the club). How would he feel when he's off representing his country and gets a phone call from the 3rd party saying his club wants to cancell his deal. Then once found out, the CEO has to justify it with all this preliminary, early stage, future plans stuff. And most still remember a big reason of sacking the coach was because he was playing his boy who - "very happy with Ryan’s performance, he’s done very well for us, ... we are happy to have Ryan here for the rest of the season".
Agree, very underhanded to do it while he's away from the club and that was very weird justification from the CEO. Brewer's style of trying to sweep things under the rug and hope for the best doesn't sit well with me  I just remembered making this post about Brewer after he tried to shaft R.Edwards and also after the underhanded bullshit he pulled with the signing of Marinkovic that the Israeli club were furious about and considered reporting to FIFA, I didn't realise just how well I had Brewer figured out though

from perth glory Quote: Dear Jay,
To say that it’s been a difficult few weeks in football is an understatement.
The events during this time, has left us all feeling shocked, sad, angry and very disappointed.
Like you, I am gutted that our club has been eliminated from the finals campaign and would like to take this opportunity to apologise to you and all our members, fans, and sponsors for the situation the club finds itself in.
Unfortunately I can’t undo what has been done, however, the club has already taken steps to ensure this never happens again.
Last night Perth Glory accepted Football Federation of Australia’s sanctions and discontinued all court action against the FFA.
Overnight, I also accepted the resignation of Jason Brewer who has stepped down as the club’s Chief Executive and I have also engaged the services of an independent auditor.
That means, a line in the sand has now been drawn and the club will work with the FFA to improve Glory’s administration processes and protocols and hopefully our systems will be the benchmark of the Hyundai A-League.
I must stress that while the club has accepted the FFA’s sanctions and fines, the club does NOT have a culture of systemic rorting.
We reiterate that all payments were made from the club's bank account.
It is important to note that for seasons 2012/13 and 2013/14 the club failed to report benefits, in relation to accommodation and vehicles but it did NOT exceed the salary cap for those respective seasons.
From this point on, our focus must be on taking the positive performances on and off the field this season, and preparing for 2015/16.
This process starts this Sunday, when the boys take on Melbourne City in what will be the team’s last home game of the season.
I know some of you are still hurting and may not want to come to the game, but Kenny and the boys need you now more than ever.
This is a situation that has rocked me but it has made me more resolved than ever, to see Perth Glory FC fulfill its true potential.
I hope we can all continue the journey forward, together.
Sincerely,
Tony Sage | Chairman | Perth Glory FC

Unlucky Hotrod, looks like he isn't going anywhere. Poor me. But, how many letters has Sage written over recent years much like this??? This year (the salary cap fiasco) Last year (the failed Edwards revolution) The year before (the Fergie experiment runs out of puff) Two years before that (the Mitchell "youth" policy yields dividends) You can put your house on it, but next season there will be another complete fuck up. Same owner, different shit, same result........a complete waste of a season. The only good thing to come from this, I don't have to find almost $2K for myself, son and FIL to fund Sage's folly. I know it has been said before but I think this could be a turning point.
I have a feeling with such immense pressure from FFA to do everything by the book it might be the encouragement needed for Glory to try and go a whole year without a mind boggling melt down.
Time will tell.

Time will tell. Same things were said at the end of last season, and the season before that, and two seasons before that. It's not getting "Glory to try and go a whole year without a mind boggling melt down" but Sage. He won't and well be back here in 12 months going through the same fucking arguments about the next drama to befall Glory. Whilst Sage owns Glory, there will be no glory.

Things were looking up when Brewer was instilled as CEO, Fan and community engagement, Moving GFU at their request. Advertising and promoting the team. All we need is another CEO that keeps on going with that line of action and we could be ok.

How are we fellas?
Got asked to make a 'Sage out' banner for the final game against WSW... I just don't think I'm hardline enough on the issue to go through the trouble of having a banner at a stadium where fans are known for stealing banners

So Griffiths is gone...
Golec is apparently coming in. I'd bet A LOT of money that Lowe will sign either Matt Simon or Archie Thompson. We really need to find a new Midfield destroyer, and I must admit I'm struggling to think of an Aussie who can replace Griff.

Golec is apparently coming in. I'd bet A LOT of money that Lowe will sign either Matt Simon or Archie Thompson. We really need to find a new Midfield destroyer, and I must admit I'm struggling to think of an Aussie who can replace Griff. only a few games left this season, boys might as well hang around for next . Ins and outs will be curious I'm super curious. I've got faith in Kenny's ability to build over the offseason, I'm just more worried that he'll keep guys like Kramar and Paljic.

With all these guys off contract and very unlikely to be resigned, we won't lose too much of our starting XI, but you'd think some of the guys who are contracted longer will be released too. Sciola, Hersi, Ferreira and Garcia are all candidates to be released.
Daniel De Silva Jack Duncan Cameron Edwards Rostyn Griffiths Dennis Kramar Jamie Maclaren Dragan Paljic Riley Woodcock
With Maclaren looking likely to go, we'll be looking to bring in a cheap back up striker, and I'd be willing to be Kenny would be keen on Matty Simon or Archie (unlikely that he'd sign, but I'm surely Kenny is interested). Midfield will need a stack of help, but Brett Holman is off contract at 31, and he's the run all day player that Kenny loves... I haven't looked to much into who else is off contract overseas, but we'll need cheap options if our cap is relatively full.
