13 home games - starting with Wellington on Sunday 18 October (4pm kickoff). 8 Saturday games, 4 Sunday games and a Monday game v Newcastle on the Labour Day public holiday, 7 March (5pm kick off). No mid afternoon games - most kick offs are 4pm early in the season before moving to 6:40pm in summer and a couple of 5pm kick offs late in the season. We play Adelaide, Victory, City and CCM twice at home. We don't play on Friday night at home or away all season and have no more than 2 away games in a row (happens twice - round 8 & 9 and round 18 & 19). Home highlights: v Adelaide 25 October v Victory 8 November v Sydney 21 November v Adelaide 9 January v Victory 30 January v Brisbane 20 February Pity about no Friday night home games although I know some people didn't like them but seven 6:40pm kick offs in the warmer months will be great. Now we just need to get a couple of decent home games in a good FFA Cup run.

Seems a reasonable enough set of fixtures. In first rounds 1 - 9, we play 8 different teams, so a huge improvement in some of the previous stuff we've had. We do get 3 times of both Adelaide and Victory in the first 17 matches but most others all pretty spaced out as it should be. Still not quite the H-A-H-A sequence that the rest of the world has down pat, but is still ok. Always going to query the AET of 7 to 7.30 kick-offs in October/November because FFA continue to dice with Perth weather. Don't know when AET daylight saving kicks in, but could be 4pm Perth kick-offs, but then ok by December fixtures.

Definitely need to look at dean again. He has been doing quite well.
And we need all the good players we can get at the moment.

Would that be Dean's 3rd or 4th stint? He'd be 26 or so right? Where is he playing at the moment? Perth SC?
I'd say we need Susak or Pantalidis back. Both versatile and both with good experience. Hopefully we manage to get a couple of the quality off contract Aussies. Zullo would be great. Would strengthen that LB spot and give us a quality cross in from the left which would be great for Keogh.

More free agent food for thought from the HAL:
Celeski - Would honestly be over the moon. Caravella - Would be fantastic and is happy to travel Dimitrejivic - would be what we've missed since Cordoba Ruka - happy to throw the sink at him Dugandzic - can score goals, creates chances Virgili - Possible back up for Harold, but if pace Zac Anderson - Desperate for a contract Murdocca -unlikely to leave Melbourne, but still only 30

Would like Celeski, Ruka and Dimi. Rather have Dimi than Nebo. But dont see him coming to Perth. Ruka was underwhelming but hopefully can improve and may be better suited working with Keogh in a 442 than as a winger. Has Novillo signed a contract with City yet? He wanted to stay in the a league.

Next season looks like being a long one. Going by here: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/au/news/league-squad-changesQuote:OUT: Jack Duncan (Randers FC), Daniel De Silva (Roma), Rostyn Griffiths (released), Youssouf Hersi (released), Scott Jamieson (Western Sydney Wanderers), Brandon O'Neill (Sydney FC), Danny Vukovic (Melbourne Victory), Riley Woodcock (Sydney FC) + Jamie McLaren (9th departure). Plus, if we wish to, there were the mid-late season releases of fringe players like Jack Clisby, Mitch Nichols, Matthew Davies, Cameron Edwards and Harry O'Brien (14 departures?). I suppose, Oxborrow is a technical replacement for Edwards/O'Neill and Alex Grant a replacement for Clisby/O'Neill? Golec seemed to be brought on-board as depth strengthening at CB/LB, so a kind of Clisby replacement too - but now that Jamieson has gone, aswell as Woodcock, that really changes the potential squad dynamics at LB, atleast. I'm still sure that Lowe will opt to utilise a VISA place there. The fact that Glory have two valuable VISA spots free, may be enough to allay our concerns somewhat. But the recruitment there and utilisation of them on the key positions vacated by some of our star departures, will be crucial from Lowe. Because as we saw with Poppa at WSW - some misfiring key-position VISA signings, can turn your season upside down. :/ EG wrote:More free agent food for thought from the HAL:

And with Dean Evans, Glory did just sign Grant and Golec - so how would that work out in the rotation? Who would Evans be replacing that Grant and Golec haven't already? :-k Edited by GloryPerth: 30/6/2015 01:57:25 AM

Evans is a midfielder and has been playing as an attacking midfielder this season for Perth SC. He would be a squad player providing cover at AM and CM.

Clearly Lowe needs to find the following key position players (and quick smart): 2nd Striker DM AM Winger Looking at the team list it is embarrassing to see hardly any WA "youngsters". Just Risdon. I know people will say that there are no WA youngsters good enough to step up to get first team action, well Risdon is a case in point. He was "lucky" enough to have Neville do his knee and made the position his own. I've said it before and I'll say it again, as long as Sage looks no further than the coming season, Glory will be fucked again. They need to take a long term view of things and build from the ground up. I think the current squad is good enough, but just needs the above key position players and then fill the rest of the squad with WA youth. Glory did that two seasons ago and it ended with Edwards getting the boot and then Lowe chasing glory last season. The end result is that Glory are exactly the same position they were two years ago. Player cull, fresh start, new catch phrase, rah, rah, rah. I'm putting it out there again, as long as Glory do not look further than the end of this season in terms of results, they will be back in this very same situation in another 2 years. Just imagine if the "youth revolution" of a couple of seasons ago had been managed better, what fruits Glory might have been harvesting now? I'm more than happy to have a transparent, strategic, long term vision for the club, if that means short term pain for long term gain. All I've seen is short term pain for long term pain. Edited by hotrod: 30/6/2015 03:55:57 PM Apart from Garcia and possibly Hersi (who I didn't think we needed, and injury prone before and when he arrived), last season's squad was excellent and well balanced. Zadkovich was a luxury squad player that we probably didn't need. Clisby, O'Neill, Cameron Edwards and O'Brien are no loss and will be replaced by better players or players with more potential. We are back where we were two years ago primarily because of the salary cap fuck up, not because of poor recruiting/retention of past it players. Alex Grant is 21 and a product of ECU Joondalup and the NTC where he would have been coached by Lowe. Still a lot of positions to be filled and I'm sure there will be a number of WA players, if not from the local leagues but returning from elsewhere.

why dont you purchase a large waste disposal truck and head round Oz on a rejects collection road trip. Id say you will require around $2000 for fuel and food and you should be good to go. like the bit about Murdocca only being 30 too, gave me a good belly laugh. well done you.

Tom King was lured over to PG's NPL team from Melbourne City with Kenny telling him he's on their radar for a senior gig, so he could be a chance to land a spot, I think he's been struggling with injury though

Is he a left back? Need a left back. Senior team doesn't need any other defenders at the moment...but I guess Thwaite is surely going to be released soon. Leaving it a little late though. Stop toying with my emotions Thwaiteeee.
