Didn't watch much of WSW last year, but when I did, Ruka seemed to not really be amongst it. Seems to be a bit of a shadow of his former self (lightning quick breaks down the left).

Does anyone have any idea why such a large proportion of the decent footballers originating from WA in recent times, ie Rhys Williams, Chris Herd, Shane Lowry, Ryan Williams and so on, never came through the Glory ranks, but instead just went straight overseas from the state league? And why those that actually did come through the Glory's system really made their name elsewhere in Aus ie. Taggart and Sainsbury?
Is there just a lack of local scouting knowledge within the Perth Glory or is it something else?

Connections to the UK within most of the clubs/families/communities that sent these boys on.
The other reasons have been done to death on this thread. Sage's need to fastrack success, whilst cutting costs in areas (like admin/backroom set up) that would sustain a long term view... etc.... etc...

Bloody hell.... 442 reporting we are not only trialling Marc Warren, but also Brent Griffiths and Aryn Williams. The latter is playing for local side Floreat after not cutting it in the UK. I recall when Aryn came back there were queries about whether we would look at him, but at the time he was deemed to be well short of A league standard.

What's the verdict on Aryn? Surely cant be worse than the other two options?

Pretty sure I heard Kenny on the radio this morning saying that they have signed Warren. No mention of the other 2 though. Also said that looking for 2 strikers, have approached to Aussie boys but the lure of going to Europe seems more enticing. So the 2 strikers they sign will be foreign players.

Marc Warren is just embarrassing for everyone.

Taggart was sitting behind Mehmet & Smeltz, in a Glory team that frequently used 1 lone striker. GVE had his AIS connections and all that, and attracted a large number of that generation of prospects to the Jerks at that time.

yeehah, first Cockburn, now Inglewood. No time for gel-ling this season, the word "juggernaut" springs to mind.
Glory maintain strong pre-season form Wednesday, 29 July 2015 - PGFC Online
Perth Glory FC has continued its rich vein of pre-season form, romping to a 4-0 victory over NPL outfit Inglewood United … … The victory is Glory’s second in succession.

Change of captaincy on the cards at Glory... http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2015/08/01/change-captaincy-cards-glorySo with word that it is either Garcia or Dino. Looks like it's probably Garcia. Can't get rid of him out of the starting 11.

Any news on when they are releasing FFA and season kits? The PG website says the new edition kit delivery doesn't come until early October.

I did copy this, but is this really the sum total of our squad?
16 players, so are there some missing, do we just add 1/2 dozen or more yooffies, or are we just pacing ourselves before our huge signing announcements? Do we have to get to about 24 or 25 this season? With all the coaches and support staff the teams seem to have nowadays, I guess our saving grace is that all our guys will get one on one coaching.
Ante Čović Jordan Thurtell Jerrad Tyson
Michael Thwaite Alex Grant Joshua Risdon Dino Djulbić Antony Golec
Diogo Ferreira Sidnei Richard Garcia Hagi Gligor Mitch Oxborrow Ruben Zadkovich Nebojša Marinković

One mega positive is that if we're super shit at the start of the season, Kenny might be sacked before January.
