Apparently Risdon has an offer from a Buli2 club and Thwaite has a last big payday in China.

Fernandez has been out for about 2 months with no sign of him coming back soon. Why hasn't he been put on the long term injury list?

Perth Glory's Brazilian midfielder Sidnei has been given a free pass out of the club to sign with an as-yet-unnamed Central American club.

The club confirmed they have come to a mutual agreement with the 29-year-old, allowing him to join a Central American club.

Mexico's the Braves are claiming that he has joined their roster.

Sidnei is currently sidelined with a quad injury and leaves Perth after three seasons and 42 games.

And he may not be the only player heading out of the door.

While the club has not confirmed any more departures, three defenders are being linked to clubs overseas.

Antony Golec is also rumoured to be departing the ninth-ranked Glory, pending the results of a medical.

There are also strong suggestions that former captain Michael Thwaite and newly-capped Socceroo Josh Risdon could also be departing.

Thwaite was a late withdrawal from the Perth side that lost 3-1 to Adelaide United at nib Stadium on Saturday night due to a bruised knee.

However, he is being linked strongly with a team in China, while Risdon is believed to be heading to a second-tier side in Germany.

[size=9]Perth Glory are set to unveil teenage striker Kosta Petratos as part of a four-year rebuild.[/size]

Petratos, 17, from Sydney, is a Football Federation Australia Centre of Excellence player and under-17 Joeys representative.

He is due in Perth today to seal a two-year deal.

Glory chief executive Peter Filopoulos said he expected to confirm the deal later in the week. He said Glory had also tabled an offer to Perth-born Olyroo Adam Taggart.

Filopoulos said the club was not looking at signing players as a short-term solution, despite the loss of three players this month and the likely departure of defender Michael Thwaite.

FFA rules mean Taggart, 22, is ineligible this season as he has already played for two clubs — Dundee United and Fulham’s under-21 side — but Filopoulos said he was a potential linchpin.

“We’re in dialogue with Tags as to what he wants to do. He’s had a challenging last couple of years overseas,” Filopoulos said.

“This season is out of the question, but we are still talking to his management.

“We’re offering him a big opportunity and We want to build our squad around a player like Tags.”

The club has a number of spots open with the while former captain Michael Thwaite is in talks with Chinese clubs Liaoning Whowin and Yanbian Funde.

“We’re busy talking to other players inside this (transfer) window but the players we’re talking too are not about a band aid solution,” Filopoulos said.

“It is about bringing them in and helping us for the next two or there years.

“There are a number of other discussions. There are a lot of balls in the air and we’re working through them one by one.

“We’re building a four-year strategy, everything we’re doing is around a four year strategy. We’re looking at everything on and off the field as a four year outlook.

“We’re trying to determine where we want to get too, what we want to achieve and more importantly how we’re going to get there.

“It’s unfortunate that there are some player exits but the broader perspective is that we’re looking long term.”

Filopoulos did not rule out a big name player but he questioned bottom-placed Central Coast’s signing of former Liverpool cult hero Luis Garcia, bringing him out of retirement after more than 12 months away from the game.

“I’m not too sure what a 37-year-old Luis Garcia is going to offer the A-League to be honest,” he said.

“You look at those opportunities along the way but you have to ask whether they are going to help us achieve what we are after.

“You need a good mix of experience and we are looking at how we build a squad for the next few years.”
