Best: Spent the weekend in Melbourne. 3 days, 3 nights. Been there at least 15 times, but not once in the last 13 or so years. So much has changed. Had a great time.
Went to the Melbourne Aquarium on Thursday. Bloody awesome. I heard that one of the staff got stung by a ray the next day! Ate at MoVida Aqui later that night. I’ve got one of Frank Camorra’s books so I was looking forward to eating in his restaurant. It was very nice. Try their braised beef cheek with cauliflower puree. Shit yes! =p~
Friday was a packed day. Went to the King Tut exhibition. Un-frkn-blv-ble. Anyone with a mild interest in history MUST go to this. I did the 3D movie and audio tour too. The craftsmanship and artistry is unbelievable. It’s a fantastic experience. When I walked out I was starving so I wandered into one of the many cafes inside the museum. This one in particular had large pillars and décor akin to Egyptian times. I look at the menu: Egyptian! So there I am thinking, “surely this is purely coincidental that this place has Egyptian cuisine?”. So I asked the waitress and she said “nope. the café was built specifically for the Exhibition”. Incredible! It cost $500,000 just to set up the entire exhibition! That’s Melbourne for ya I spose.
From there went to IMAX. Watched Hubble 3D. LOVED IT. We used to have IMAX here in Adelaide :( . Then I went into the museum and spent another 2 hours in there. I was completely rooted after that.
From there I went to Grossi Florentino’s restaurant (The Grill side). It was pretty good. Great service. They do some top pasta’s and good mains. Then Friday night I spent the evening amongst Melbourne’s degenerates and derelicts at the Hifi Bar… what can I say, home is where the heart is! I went to see Morbid Angel. It’s a great venue for mid-tier metal bands.
Saturday was spent wandering through shops in Chadstone, Bourke St and Little Collins, but it’s impossible to cover them all. Sat night was spent at Giuseppe Arnaldo & Sons inside the Crown. We ate dinner at 10:30pm. Could not get in anywhere and no one takes bookings there so I pleaded with one of the ‘senior waiters’. “Were from Adelaide. We’ve been recommended here. I want to eat here. I understand there is an hour wait and that your kitchen closes at 10:30pm. We’re going to wait here till then and take the chance. If you can get us in, great, if not, bad luck”. The guy took a sympathetic ear to our cause and told us to get a drink at the bar. Soon after he got us a seat.
I could go into specifics about the food but I won’t. I’ll just say that it was ‘good to great’ food, in spectacular settings, but highly over-priced.
Didn’t catch any VPL action but did manage to drive past AAMI Park in a taxi. That thing looks amazing in real life.
Worst: Being back at my desk of course.

Best: In the middle of some days off Best: Pissing down raining, love it Best: A-League draw and all the planning Worst: Sister is in hospital, all the family shit, etc
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Best: Won 11-0 in the 'City of Clarence' derby. Best: Scored my first goal in two seasons. Worst: Had to be taken off in the second half, couldn't breathe. If it was FM my condition would have been like %40. It was like my asthma that I thought I'd grown out of ages ago just suddenly came back.

Best: Cooked Dinner for the missus and extended family. Chicken & Mushroom risotto. Missus parents raved about my cooking skills. Nobody dropped dead of e-coli or salmonella poisoning, so I guess that's a good start!. Worst: Exams coming up, being really lazy about study.
