WGMG: People having a loud cry about Adrian Zahra. All things aside, his behaviour after the tackle wasn't typical of the 'career ending injury' which people keep jibber-jabbering about. Soccer's stigma as a sissy-boy game coming through again.

Edited by thewestisland: 22/1/2011 10:49:45 PM True. If it was that bad why'd he walk off? Don't be silly. Just because in this instance he didn't break his leg, doesn't mean a tackle of that force isn't potentially a career ending one. All it would take would be for a few centimetres movement in a direction and he may have snapped his leg. The style of tackle was a potential leg breaker, but in this case it wasn't. I don't think people are saying that they think Zahra has broken his leg.

WGMG: wannabe hools at the derby last night (from both sides), but it's bound to happen with 32k people there are bound to be a select few who were deprived of oxygen at birth.

just saw that tackle. pretty fucking dog. I go for melb and so I usually think muscat is an angel but a tackle like that can make your knee bend the other way. Shabani Nonda had his done like that a few year ago playing for Monaco IIRC and his lower leg was flat on the ground while his thigh was upright.

I don't think people are saying that they think Zahra has broken his leg. Not saying that I condone the tackle, but it is fairly clear that Zahra's career isn't finished. He has an ACL tear IIRC, which isn't too serious in the scheme of things. With most ACL injuries, the only time it will end a career is through medical misadventure after the event.

Love him or hate the game needs characters like Kevin Muscat to keep it interesting, controversial figures like Kevin Muscat add so much more entertainment to the game. Not condoning his behaviour at all but you can't deny the A League will not be the same without him

He's so far past it anyway.

Yeah I'm a tad biased not just because its Muscat but because I'm a fan of the 'hardman' players but I do believe they add to the excitment of football. His body may be passed it but he is still by far the best captain in the league, probably shouldn't have extended his contract though and just elevated his coaching duties so his mental attributes are still usefull to the team

Yeah hardman players are all fine but Muscat is past that now, he's gone from a hardman to a plain old hack.

It'll generally just be 2 groups calling eachother "faggots" from 20 yards.

Now they've "lost" my certificates of capacity from my doctor. Not impressed.

Exhibit A Followed the AU fans from AAMI to Flinders, then cops came and they ran, such an embarrassment.

In fact fuck it, what really grinds my gears is the fact with my computer crashing I've lost 28 GB of the good stuff, so now I have to get that shit back to where it was
