WGMG: Some genius decided it's a good idea to have ONE unit of study for Critical Studies for Popular Music between 1850 and 1970. Seriously, it's a retardedly massive course, and impossible to study for.

WGMG: Useless coach didn't enter our score in for football, and so we have to face a harder team for semis than we would've had to otherwise, due to ending up second when we were meant to be first. Rage.

Seriously, it's a retardedly massive course, and impossible to study for. 120 years is a very broad period, especially in music. Just focus on the dawn of each era. So the introduction of the phonograph and recording mediums in the late 1870's through to Vinyl Records in the early 20th century enabling people to listen to music that wasn't a live performance for the first time and representation of fidelity. The introduction of the electric guitar in the 1920's and 30's, Spend a good deal of time looking at Les Paul's career and how he developed the effects we hear today like reverb et al and his contribution to amplification of guitars. Look at his radio show in particular. In terms of individual artists, look at: Coltrane, Davis, Sinatra and the crooners, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, The Supremes, the Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Sabbath. They've cut things off before you get to the introduction of guys like Hewy Lewis and electronic music.

Just stick to the core contributions. Each artist can be summarised in a paragraph or two.

WGMG: MW2 has officially become impossible. No matter what I do it just won't stop bullshitting
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

WGMG: Mate crashed his car after being on P's for one day. Jumped a curb after losing control of his car in an abandoned lot, fucked up the front end of the car. Luckily he was unscathed. After I made a Facebook status making fun of him, he called me a dickhead. Yes, maybe it wasn't the smartest thing by me to do, but I think it's a bit hypocrytical when he insisted on going round like a hoon, attempting to drift with no prior experiencem fucking up his parents car and it was a miracle none of my mates in the car with him were injured (although one hit his head on the roof).

chillbilly wrote:WGMG: Need a sport to play over summer and not having enough people interested to form a team. Indoor's a good bet. IF you don't have a team, just go down to your local center and a lot of them have individual sign-ups and they'll find a team for you.

For Menai Futsal you have to have your team in by next Monday. I have a paltry 3 people who might be interested in playing. Everyone either doesn't get home in time from work/uni to play at 6.30 on Mondays or has tafe at that time

If you're interested, I'll probably be playing a 6-a side summer comp in Gladesville. The team is Organised by 'Mr' off here. We won the comp this season which was awesome, especially as the team was a bunch of guys nobody really knew. Although Gladesville might be a little far for you to travel - although if you're interested, you could always drop him a line.
