WGMG: My friend didn't get chosen for peer support :( I'm gutted for her, I knew she wanted it, and it's really going to suck that heaps of other people will be talking about it. Don't know why she didn't make it in when I did.

~100 people applied at our school, only 40 got chosen though.

Our school had 65 or so.
We must have had a fair few more students

WGMG: Never had peer support at my school.

We've got around 800 students at our school.

Not quite, we don't really have to sort out people's problems, we just have to help the new yr9s adjust to college life. Should be fun :)

Year 9's? You'd think they'd be big enough to look after themselves by that stage.

Year 8's by your standards. And it's their first year of college, so we're basically there to help them to get to know the people in their class, show them around the school, and introduce them to different things that we do such as sports day, feast day, etc, that they wouldn't have had before.

thats just about as wierd as the ACT system, 7 of primary, 4 of secondary, 2 of college.

It's always been 7 primary and 6 secondary in Vic, but the high school I went to had a 'junior campus' for the year 7/8's.

I had it a bit different. 7 years of primary, 3 years in "junior secondary", 3 years in "senior secondary".

Our school was forwarded special consideration when it came to TER score weighting because we lived in a shithole. True story.
