My parents broke up because my mum thought she'd be financially better off. :oops: awks. They picked the worst age to do it too, I was 14 and my sister was 11, so we were old enough to know what was going on but not old enough to know how to deal with it or them.

Tbh, it could be that KC's parents fight a lot but can't imagine their lives without each other. I know a few couples like that.

it must be difficult if you know your parents are going to split up but they only staying together for one reason or the other.

like imnos parents waited till they were older, so his parents obviously must have known for a while, its got to be quite hectic. especially if the kids know too.

That sounds like what the situation seems like with my parents too. It sucks, but luckily they don't fight all the time, so at least sometimes I can pretend they're happy together.

I used to be like that. I was kidding myself. I used to play the moderator. Now I just don't give a shit anymore. It was hard carrying that through my teenage years. Still is hard watching shit hit the fan.

WGMG: Used to never drink alcohol regularly, now that I've found a good drink I can't get off of it. Drinking as we speak, video games and card games I can confirm are much more entertaining

Im loosing interest in football too. I finally start playing in a decent team, were i got stuck at defender for the whole season. Scored my first own goal that season too.......and it was in the grand final :(

i've already stopped playing, i wasn't playing at a very high level, and i was missing too mnay matches from fencing tournaments anyway.

How does one start fencing? By that i mean how did you get into the sport.

well, I watched a james bond film (die another day i think) and remarked on how i thought it was really cool, i was 7 i think, and my dad was working at the australian defence force academy at the time. He said there was some fencing going on there, so i went down and had a look, and one of their coaches who also ran a junior fencing club gave me an on the spot lesson and i went from there.

SOunds cool. Is it hard/does it hurt?

It doesnt hurt very much, you'll get the odd bruise but nothing much, although i did managed to accidentally kneecap myself with my own guard once. At a local level its not particularly difficult, and you can find someone of just about any level to fence, but get to the bigger australian comps and its the strangest mix of young up and comings, oldies that were never particularly good, commonwealth games gold medalists and kickarse brits.

That sounds awesome, i may look into this. What level do you play at now, the australian one?

well what basically happens for me is i train at clubs in Canberra, do all the local tournaments, go up to Sydney for some of their tournaments, and go to Nationals, and the National Circuit comps (they have 3 in a year in 3 different cities) and all the junior nationals in a year.

Im in Newcastle. SOunds like an interesting sport IMO.

It is, and great fun too, even if you're just looking to mess around, which is how i spent most of my first 7 years of fencing. well after a quick glance of the NSW fencing website it seems there are two Newcastle clubs, i'm not sure if they'd be running at the moment.
