I didn't realise that the idea that KC is a caring and generous person is 'taking the piss out of her'.

Keep doing it anyway, and hope that maybe one day people will appreciate it. afromanGT wrote:I think suicide is a selfish concept, but not necessarily weak minded. WAGMG: I probably won't be able to walk tomorrow.

WAGMG: I probably won't be able to walk tomorrow. They got that way because they're there - just like you are. Don't let it discourage you and make you feel like shit, use it as a tool to motivate yourself. If you want to, if you truly want to, you can be just like them. When you hop on the treadmill with the intention of going for 20 minutes, go for 30. If you're doing benches and you think you're going to do 10 reps, do 12. If you tell yourself you're only going to go to the gym twice a week, you'd damn well better make sure you kick your ass into gear and go four times because there's a hell of a lot of people who wish they could go but can't. But you can. /end motivation.

I've got a 15 (well, 14 now) session pass that I can use between now and Feb, so I can't go as many times as I want, but I am going to make sure I practically kill myself each time I'm there.

What I suggest then is that you don't waste your time on cardio work in the gym. You can go for a run anywhere, but you can't use machines/weights anywhere :)

They also have various classes there, but they're really bloody hard. Ideally, how long could I/should I spend at the gym? I'll only be going once a week, twice max.

I've never understood people that go to the gym...sitting in traffic driving to the gym to sit on a stationary bike and watch television.

Except I walk to the gym, do many more activities than just bike (I don't actually own a working bike either), and I'm getting it for free so I may as well make the most of it. The vast majority of people don't have a large range of exercise equipment at home, and the gym environment acts as a motivator for many, as well as being able to be used no matter what the weather is.

If thats all you go to the gym for then its no point. Just buy a bike and do that at home. But otherwise going to the gym helps if you doing classes or a proper plan.

Yeah just do a lot of high intensity compound exercises. Dips, push-ups, ab crunches, bench presses, lat pulldowns, pull-ups, all that kind of stuff.

I wasn't surprised one iota. My old next door neighbours dog died today. Choked on a bone in front of their kids. Pretty rough.

You stopped going because some people are morons? You try doing bench when you got some idiots standing around you flexing their muscles and making these stupid noises, "look at my aesthetics bro", "we going to rip it up at sterio", "i hate it when shitcunts come to the gym". Also hate it when they make you feel small and as if you dont belong in the gym. then they spend half their time at the gym posing in the mirror and taking photos of each other and being rude to everyone else. I dont pay $50 a month for that, rather just gym from home with my mates and go at my own pace.
