Fucks sake. I know it's not travis's fault, but it's still put me in an even shitter mood. Massive letdown. Taken a lot of shine off seeing Blink at Soundwave now.

To be fair, I wouldn't get on the plane for awhile after being in a serious plane crash that killed all but two on board.

At least they're playing at all. They could have cancelled at any point but Travis gave his blessing for another drummer to take his spot so that you can still hear the same songs with 66% of the band still intact. They were also split up not that long ago.

Have to take it with a "well it could be worse" attitude.

Yeah, I know. I don't have a problem with him not coming at all. It's an incredibly difficult thing for him to do and I don't blame him for opting out.

The thing is, it just won't feel like Blink without travis. I'm glad Tom and Mark are still coming out, but it still sucks.

No problem mate. I reckon teaching probably sucks as a job for the most part, I know I wouldn't be able to handle the students  I'm sure jobs will be coming up in engineering soon enough, it's just hit a rough patch at the moment, but it won't stay that way.

My former boss's daughter finished a teaching degree. No job, onto the end of an enormous waiting list. Went straight back to uni to do another degree.

One of my team-mates only gets casual work every now and then.

Generally pretty woeful prospects Australia wide, but on the uni job board, they are looking for a LOT of Aussie teachers to teach in the UK.

I know, people say the same to me (not about jobs of course though) but things will change. The job market isn't set in stone, so something is bound to come up sooner or later (hopefully sooner).

is this teaching PE only? from what i hear, most teachers can walk straight into a job out of uni EXCEPT pe teachers - who rarely get a job.

one of my good mates graduated 5 years ago as a PE teacher - he's had a few job openings out of state and inland to the west a fair bit but he's too attached to his life around home so doesn't want to move out, and hence hasn't gotten a fulltime PE teaching job since. he teaches year 7-10 music four days a week at a local high school, so also works at woolies (he's been there 15 years now as a casual, and has long service lol) 2 days a week. he has taught 4 lessons of PE in 5 years, and they were all on other teachers sick days. he's applying for the police force soon, and can't wait to get out of teaching. the lesson here is the number of students newy uni take on each year to do solely PE teaching is ridiculous. they take more than 100 kids a year, and i'd imagine a max of 10 actually get jobs out of uni. it's ridiculous. all these lads & "do you even lift bro" type guys just want to go to uni as their 70 UAI allows them to get into it, and they just spend 4 years getting drunk & living the uni life. then they whinge for 10+ years when they haven't found a job, and wind up getting a FIFO job working in a mine somewhere - and working underneath one of the engineers they ridiculed while at uni because while they were getting drunk, the engineer was debugging code late at night.

Nah, this is primary teaching.

I have another mate who started out doing PE teaching but saw the writing on the wall after a year so he changed degrees.

WGMG: Have been having really itchy underarms lately and thought nothing of it then realized today that I've got this huge angry red rash in my right arm pit that is itchy as fuck. I started going to the gym about three and half weeks ago and have a heavy focus on cardio, so I'm thinking that might be the reason and the fact I'm sweating way more than usual from gym and the constant heat don't make things any better.
