Are you back from your trip Zim?

Got back about 5 weeks ago. Was such an amazing trip, loved it so much. First time ive seen snow in my life. Im still a bit sad to be back. Just dont venture on the forums anymore. Choose to just stalk about and only if i ever see the need for a response i log in. So chances are you guys wont be seeing me on here as often as before.

Really just focussing right now on finishing my degree, then hopefully i will either be heading back to England if things go according to plan otherwise if that falls through, will be sitting here back at square one.

Mechanics. It's not the end of the world, but it was worth 15% of my final grade. Could be worse I suppose.

He owns it...but if I'm running it, it's 'my' bar. I'm making all the informed decisions, I'm the one busting my arse dealing with the messes he keeps making for me.

Mechanics was always my weak-point in physics. Loved particle physics and acoustics...but mech gave me the shits. Maybe ask chillbilly or benelsmore for help?

if you need any help just give us a buzz kc. mechanical engineer over here. chillbilly is too, not sure about benel or any others.

also my brother-in-law does advanced science at sydney uni, majoring in astrophysics & maybe maths, maybe some other awesome physics related thing (sup, big bang theory). i'm more than happy to send things on to him if you need help for anything you're doing also.

wgmg: broke my toe in football last week. we've already got so many people out for the game tomorrow due to a wedding, i have to play. rested it up until last night, and tried it out at training - hurts so much. will without a doubt be pulling up majorly sore on sunday

Cheers mate, at the moment the concepts aren't too bad, it's more just when I get to questions I have no idea how to do anything anymore.

lol welcome to uni life. best advice i can give is steal, rape & pillage until you get ahold of all past papers that you can. check public uni drives for that gem of a person who left past papers on, talk to people in years above - get ahold of anything you can. chances are the tests for each year will either be identical, or a bloody good indicator of what to expect. immerse yourself in worked solutions to questions, and you'll pick up tricks etc that you can expect. that's basically how i study for my courses.

What did mechanics of physics entail? I had a quick look my uni text book and it had over 550 pages covering it.

Did you get to take in a formula sheet or have one provided for physics mechanics or are you expected to memorise.derive them as you need them?
If you don't know what to do try rewrite and draw (always do it for scalars and vectors) the problem. Most lecturers will give you some marks for just doing that. Usually you can match your variables to a formula that will be used to solve the problem.
