This forum's attitude to the right of due process. The reaction to the Santalab saga has been disgusting.

WGMG: a friend of mine is at a religious camp which has organised a few groups to go to various locations around the world to do mission trips. Her group is going to Chile&Brazil in May/June/July. And they're attempting to put the sop-story on us about how difficult it is to raise $20k that is needed for flights/accom/tickets to WC games/etc.
Firstly, don't go to Sth America when the WC is on. Simple. Everything will be heaps cheaper and more available if half the world isn't there at the same time.
Secondly, I'm not going to fork out my money for you to go to the WC when I personally couldn't afford to go myself.
Thirdly, phrasing your sop story like "hey guys, we're still in need of $20k to get us over there for this much-needed spreading of religion in Chile/Brazil. Please pray hard for us that this money will get to us!" is a shithouse way to say "guys, give us money plz".
Fourthly, a quick google tells me that well over 60% of the population of both Chile & Brazil are Christians (and over 60% of indigenous people are Christians, apparently). Why go somewhere where most people are already converted (if that's your plan)? My quick google also tells me that Australia has similar, or even less, Christianity percentage.
Thanks but no thanks, guys. I understand you want to spread love, etc - but do it somewhere that is actually in need of it rather than using it as an excuse to get friends&family to pay for a holiday that they themselves can't afford.

The way I see it, I'm not the one making the choice to be unfaithful and if they were looked after better they wouldn't go looking for some strange. But at the same time, why have they made a commitment which they clearly weren't ready for? That's really not fair on either party.

WGMG: Went to Little Creatures yesterday and decided to have the steak sandwich and chips. Didn't taste great, but I decided to finish it anyway. As a result, ended up spending the evening/night vomiting. In the process, I missed the Alan Davies stand up show I'd been looking forward to for ages :(

WGMG: Have dropped my phone (S3) heavily onto concrete numerous times, and it barely registers a scratch. Dropped it at the bus stop this afternoon, and now it looks it's been shot a few times. FML.
