Please watch a Victory game once this season, then get back to me.

I've watched plenty of games this season and they've all been the same.

Sooo, Hernandez shooting blanks, Muscat/Vargas and co's shitty defending, Petkovic's inability to keep the ball out of the back of the net and Robbie Kruse scoring goals?

Coz that's how it's been all season brah.

Carlos Hernandez is the ony player who's looked consistently threatening when he's had the ball as his feet. His lovelife has nothing to do with it.

No shit. Carlos Hernandez always looks threatening because of his reputation from last season. But when you have over 100 strikes at goals and score 4 of them, you can't really say he has been our best player. Also, Archie... ?

Quote:
Melbourne's defensive inadequacies can be placed purely on Muscat's complete lack of pace and Petkovic's in ability to communicate with his defence.

Vargas has been just as bad as Muscat. Plus a lack of pace isn't the only reason, it's also been his decision making and the fact the defence have let players have so much room around the area.

Quote:
I've never seen any player look a surprised as when Kruse sees the onion bag move when he strikes the ball. Seriously. He's the most exasperating player to watch, both his attitude and his ability to read the play would be out of their depth in a pub team.

Again, get back to me when you watch a game this season. The Kruse you are talking about is the Kruse from last season. Robbie Kruse actually has 10 goals this season and a fair few assists to go with it. The only time he looks crap is when he has no support with him, as have Ricky and Allsopp.

You can't really say a player who's only played half the season is our best player. And if you do that's a massive insult to every other player that's been out on the park and maybe shows just how pathetic the quality of the Melbourne squad is. Have you got an actual source for the number of shots that Hernandez has taken at goal?

I don't think it's that they've 'let' players have so much room. I think that most of the goals Melbourne have conceded is because they've been too slow to close a player down and get caught out in no-mans land between intercepting the pass and closing the player down. Leijer hasn't had this problem. Vargas, not so much - though he has been sloppy for the last two seasons. Muscat has been consistently two yards off the pace.

The Kruse I'm talking about is the same Robbie Kruse that turned out against CCM, against Newcastle Jets and against Perth Glory. What nobody has noticed is that although Kruse has better support around him and fits into the team better this season he hasn't improved nearly as much as you like to think he has from last season. He is still the weakest link in Melbourne's attacking line.

No, I meant Archie has looked more threatening than Carlos. I stated before Kruse has been our best player this season.

Says here he has 97 attempts on goal, but the other day on FoxSports they stated one of his shots was his 100th. Either way it's around the 100 mark.

Leijer has been playing out of his position for most of the season. He has looked good some games and some he has been shocking. This goes for the majority of the team though.

That goes for any team in the league. Any tema that's consistent for more than three or four weeks (other than being consistently bad like Sydney) more or less guarantees themselves the title.

He's getting better service than any Melbourne striker has had since Fred left. He's scored 8 tap ins and got lucky with 2 shots from outside the area (does that sound about right? That seems to be about what I recall). Every time he scores, he looks surprised.

I guess that's shown in that we're talking about Robbie Kruse and Melbourne's style of play. I'm not a Kruse hater, I'm telling it like it is. If it was Thompson wasting opportunities and looking lost on the field I would (and have) called him on it. Stop trolling every post I make, and get a life. Seriously.

"Being in the right place isn't luck, it's a skill". 'Tis what a striker is meant to do isn't it?

Good, you would have seen him not even play against Adelaide (when we got thrashed) and his piece of magic to set up Ricardinho against the Jets and his back-heel against Perth to set-up Archie in games we both won. Right?

My point is, he's not working for his goals. He's constantly looking our of place and looking surprised.

A game lasts for 90 minutes, not a three minute spell where he actually touches the ball.

Getting trashed at the hands of adelaide would be more down to defensive inadequacies than any lack of striking potency, since it was a 4-1 loss, not a 0-0 draw which could be blamed on striking impotence.

You can't say any A-League striker works hard and plays good for the full 90 minutes. I can't speak to much on his performance against the Jets as I wasn't at the game, but he has been outstanding this season and you simply just have to admit he is a much much better player than he previously was.

I never used to like Kruse either, but he has proven me wrong this season and at least I can now admit he has actually turned into a good player.

Any decent poacher works hard for the 90, it is just a different type of work. Watch Shane Smeltz. Doesn't run much but is always there, lurking with intent.

Similar to a pedophile, their job is to lurk and wait for the right moment. Then as soon as the opportunity presents, BAM! You're in the van before you know it. Or in the case of Smeltz, the ball is in the back of the net.

Dunno if I have worded it well, but I think many strikers work hard. It is just a case of the type of work being quite different.

Weren't you just having a go at me for not attending games? I mean, no doubt it was because you were away. But what's the coverage of the A-League like in Uruguay? I'd imagine you saw substantially less of the games that you're having a go at me about, than I did.

I've never said he hasn't improved. I'm saying he's still not very good. Form is temporary, class is permanent, and right now Kruse has about as much class as bonkers, regardless.

Yeah, I was in Uruguay. But before the Jets game, I had watched every single Melbourne Victory game going back to about early 2008... :-"

I've seen every game Kruse played for us last season. I'm pretty sure I can tell he has improved this season. I am sure any MVFC game who isn't ignorant and knows something about the team would know he has improved.

But you can't say he isn't good. He's scored 10 goals this season, be it tap-ins or strikes from outside the box a goal's a goal. He must be good to be called up to the Socceroos as well.

I remember that you didn't go to a game against The Roar in 09. I remember it because it was one fo the few games I asked if you were going to. I also remember you complaining on facebook about missing a game at one point...actually, it was october 16. I guess if you're going to make a claim like that you should probably make sure it's true first...

I didn't miss a game last season, and have only missed the Sydney/Adelaide(AAMI)/Mariners and Jets games this season. And I said I watched them, that doesn't mean I had to be there. Also the fact you remember when I "complained" about missing a game is kinda... wierd.

Just admit it, you hate Kruse so much you are just ignoring the fact he has turned into a good player.

So your reasoning is that first you claim that you've been to every game since early 08. Then it's ok, you don't have to go to every game, as long as you watched the highlights. But...my opinion isn't valid because I can't go to every game. What the fuck kind of perverse logic is that?

You don't watch every game. I know this because you've told me before. You've missed many games because you've been working, many of the games you missed where in the early this season when Kruse was at his best. I'm sure then you wouldn't have been saying he isn't a good player.

Many people use the "I don't rate him" card not because they think he's a shit player, but because they dislike him. Heaps of people know (including Fredsta :P ) that I hate Kruse with a passion, but I won't deny that he isn't a good player. He's improved immensely this season and he's maybe not good enough for the Bundesliga or Socceroos just yet, but he's not a crap player at all....

Lying? When did I ever lie? I've said before the Jets game I had watched every MVFC game since early 2008, and that's the truth. Yeah I missed about two or three live and a few away games, but I always would watch the replay either the next day or the day after. Don't call me a liar.

WFMB: Mass Effect 2. It's even fun to play through as a good guy.

I can't spell it out any more clearly than with your own words.

You're just contradicting yourself over and over and over.

Watched doesn't mean I was there live. I said I would watch the replay of every game I miss either the next day or the day after.
