The FFA need to smarten up and prop up NQF. They can't afford to have Fury fold. We won't have come anywhere since the NSL days if they do. It was always going to be a silly place to start up an A-League team. But now that it's done they have to do their all to ensure that the club remains afloat.

What I don't get is why they chose to expand to North Queensland, but aren't prepared to support the franchise. Every club should have full backing, if their is some uncertainty , the license should never have been granted. Edited by raspberryticklebear: 21/1/2011 11:06:43 PM

They need to re-evaluate, consider relocation and prop up the club. The first A-League club to fold will set the league back five, if not ten years and it can't be allowed to happen.

MvFCArsenal16.8 wrote:nz knights?? Sadly that was doomed from the outset. They managed to do a kind of sideways shuffle to Wellington though. LOL'd today while in the wardrobe - noticed the Charlton Athletic badge on the sleeve of my Knights jersey. Charlton were in the EPL when they hooked up with the Knights. Worked well for both clubs didn't it?

On top of that, football may well be killed if the Fury fold. If we don't want that to happen, the FFA need to do what they can to reenergise the club, but not looking good at all. The wrong time to bring a football club to North Queensland. Like they just plonked a random team in an area which isn't exactly familiar with the game, which I'm sure not much had been done to build the game beforehand.

Like they just plonked a random team in an area which isn't exactly familiar with the game, which I'm sure not much had been done to build the game beforehand. The FFA tried to saturate the Queensland market because they don't have many teams represented up there in the other codes. It was in theory, a good idea. But in practice it was a disaster waiting to happen. Thre should have been a lot more market research done. They should pool the resources and relocate to Western Sydney. I don't think that would fly with many fans, I think I'd be hounded out of town for such concepts...but it's a viable option to stop the club from going under. The alternative, letting the club go defunct isn't appealing to anybody, except maybe the bitter naysayers of the NSL.
