Kiwichick, the one thing i have learned from my whole debacle is to NEVER, EVER trust anyone when it comes to a ball. Everyone goes crazy wanting dates. Does this guy know any of your friends? If he does, and if your friends are really serious about dates, then they might be thinking the same idea as you if they are good friends. You've said there's what, two months till the ball? Start searching now, don't put it off, thinking you might have a back-up guy, cos he might have plans. I really can't stress this enough. Get out there and find someone you KNOW you will have fun with. You DON'T want to end up like me, whinging about your problems on the internet. It doesn't make you feel any better, it will make you feel worse if anything.

If you can't find anyone, shout me a plane ticket and I'll go with you :P

WFMB: Playing football.
It seems really simple, but running three sheets to the wind down a touchline makes me feel like nothing else. Went and played with a group of about 30 kids from my old college - Norwegians, Kenyans, Aussies, Japanese, Lybians, Frenchmen and a guy who allegedly played for the Italian U16s - and didn't think I'd be any good after six months out of the game, but my fitness held up and my keeper reflexes were still pretty good. Had a really good time and met some great people.
