Looks to be a good season.

I thought Sydney FC were agreeing a deal with Janjetovic to replace Bolton if he does defect to Melbourne or go to Asia. It'd make sence as he was the Sydney FC #1 Youth Keeper last season.

GET ready to cheer on the Blacktown Football Club in 2010.

After a tumultuous year the Blacktown City Demons have wiped the slate clean, name and all, and will start next season as Blacktown FC.

At the club’s Annual General Meeting at the end of November a new board of directors voted in favour of the name change.

After being lodged with the Department of Fair Trading, the name was approved on December 9.

The fresh start comes courtesy of Vince Camera who bought the sports club next door and reclaimed the homeground, now known as Lily Homes stadium after his Liverpool business.

The Demons Sports Club went into liquidation in April and the stadium, then known as Gabbie, was sold off to help recover debts, leaving the soccer club in a precarious position.

Camera said the ``Demons’’ will still be there in the background, as can be seen in the new logo, but Blacktown FC was a more appropriate football name.

``Everybody’s confident and happy where we’re at and where we’re going,’’ he said.

Instead of electing a new chair following the resignation of David Fitzharris, a board of five businessmen; Joe D’Agostino, Brett Seagar, Christian Harders, Greg Walker and Camera, will preside over the club.

Their focus will be to get the licensed club turning a profit.

``The more money we generate from the clubhouse, the better it is for soccer,’’ Camera said.

A woodfire oven has already been added to the kitchen and Camera hopes to reopen the club mid February - just in time for the start of the Premier League season.

As seen in the Blacktown Advocate http://blacktown-advocate.whereilive.com.au/sport/story/goodbye-blacktown-demons-hello-blacktown-fc

Is Matt Mayora still playing for Sydney Olympic?

I know he had an unsucsessful spell in Indonesia where he came close to signing for several clubs. But haven't hear a squeak outta him yet.

Well those players have only signed one year deals so depends what happens after this season. Weather he goes to Sydney FC or waits for Rovers:p

Sutherland Sharks recruit two strikers for 2010

2009 NSW Premier League Champions Sutherland Sharks have added two new recruits to its player roster for 2010 with attackers Benjamin Vidaic and Steve McConologue joining the Shire based club.

Vidaic is well known to many in the NSW Premier League as he has played senior football for both Sydney United and more recently Marconi Stallions. The 21-year-old was a former Sutherland Sharks youth product before moving off to the Blacktown City Demons but was delighted to be once again playing with the Shire side. The big 6 foot 4 striker will add much needed steel to the Sharks attack after losing 2009 Gold Medal Winner Bradley Boardman to the Bonnyrigg White Eagles.

Linking up with Vidaic up-front will be Scotsman Steve McConologue.

The former Scottish Schoolboys star played in the Scottish Third Division for Stranraer F.C. before coming to Australia where he met up with close friend and Sharks tough midfielder Neil Jablonksi

LOL at Vidaic. Was great at United got into the Sydney FC squad. Then comes back and plays for bitter local rivals and flops and now off to the shire for more mediocrity. He did show great potential but hasn't lived up to it can't do much except head the ball well he's slow and has the touch of a hippo.

the thing with syd united that worries me is that they may have 400 season passes. but how many of these will go to most away games. i have many cro mates. and out of these only 1 person goes to all home matches and all away games. yet once syd united play syd fc all my cro mates go. FFS i have to get them to go watch the game when they play blacktown city at endensor park.
i do hope that the likes of syd united, marconi, olympic and basically all NSWPL state teams can pull decent crowds for this season. as i have seen blacktown city go through alot of shit. so hopefully teams can get a solid crowd going to all their matches
