A very bad game from Lake, 5.2 only!! You seem to get killed when the opposition make substitutions. Do you change your opposition instructions when they make a change? I'll be honest with you - I always forget!!!!!! (you're right, that probably did get us both times - my defenders were fantastic otherwise, absolutely killed them in the air)

you gotta be on the ball in the second half with subs coming on. It'll get you every time if you're not.

He's made 39 appearances for us so far and he is matching if not bettering my other CM's. He's 19 and still has room for his stats to grow.

No posts on here in almost 2 days! :o Damn i still keep getting called a 'her' in some of my messages! "The Fulham board are pleased with Paul Stevenson who has reaffirmed her commitment to the club" Something like that. It says her about three times! Maybe the game is very stereotypical?

I finished my 6th A-League season over the weekend, having returned to my old haunt at Melbourne, and didn't we do it in style - absolutely blitzed it with 18 wins and 3 draws - the easiest season I've ever had in an FM game - I pretty much just had to let them onto the park and they did the rest - I played the same attacking 3-5-2 formation the whole season - first time I've ever done something like that (not change formations).
I mentioned that one game, we had a 5-0 away win against our main challengers, the Nix (who I also manage in this game).
But, the Nix turned it around in the finals, had a 5-2 aggregate win in the semis, and went on to win the grand final against MV 1-0.
It's a funny ol' game sometimes.
I've now returned to my other FM game where I'm into the start of the 2010-11 season with NEC in the Eredivisie, Livorno in Serie B and the Nix in the A-League.
I've assembled good squads for all three (for their respective comps), so I'm looking forward to doing well.
NEC are also in the champions league, and are in the same group with Liverpool, Rangers and Panathinaikos. So far we've managed two nil-all draws agaisnt the last two, and must play Liverpool soon, who head the group with two out of two wins - if I can jag a point, I'm in with a chance of fininshing top two which would be a damn good effort.
With Livorno, I reckon I've got the goods to win promotion this year, and I've I assembled a great youth team, so I'm hoping for a few players to move through the ranks in the next couple of seasons (the Italian leagues appear to be very tough on home grown rules, so it's important to invest in youth teams).

socceroos_fan wrote:No posts on here in almost 2 days! :o I'm actually going kinda well in some ways, so I don't want to jinx it by posting about it. of course, I'll post about the bad stuff. After doing all that work to get 4th for the CL quals, we lost to Udinese 5-3 on Agg, crashing into the Eufa cup. We got drawn with Roma, Zenit and Villareal, ended up 3rd, on the last match-day, we needed Roma to beat Zenit, us to beat Villareal (who were last), and the GD between us an Zenit to change by 5 goals in our favour. We beat Villareal by 4 goals, and of course Zenit managed to draw with Roma, who never looked like winning (Zenit missed 2 penalties, and Roma had a player sent off), and so we finished 3 by 1 point despite having more goal scored and a better GD. ](*,) I've finally had to get rid of one of my strikers, 3 and a half seasons of constant crying to move to a "bigger" club, he failed to turn up for training before a match against Chelsea, so I dropped him, fined him 2 weeks wages and sold him to Valencia. I am at least thankful I got the 13 million I spent on him back. Now I really only have 2 quality strikers, and probably don't have the transfer/wage budget to get a good 3rd striker inside the January window.

I have about 5 games to go in my 3rd season with oberhausen (a German 2nd Div side) we are currently 3rd and 2pts from 1st. We are only expected to finish mid table but really think the squad is quite capable of promotion. My "star" greek AMR has been complaining about the "pressures" placed upon him so every game that he plays I give him the old "no pressure" pep talk and he has been averaging 7's. However I got an email from my assistant telling me he has not turned up on game day - first time that has ever happened to me, I have had them miss training sessions but not actual games. So I fined him 1 weeks wage, hopefully it wont happen again as I really do not want to sell him but if it comes a habit I will have to.
My team went on a fantastic run at one stage winning 8 games straight and undefeated in 11, we have hit a bit of a slump but hopefully the boys can pull out a few good wins to earn promotion and possibly become league champs....

Yeah was a bit of a suprise for me also - when I get home from work I will see if I can put up a few screenies - this guy is a little bit of a gun (compared to the rest of my team) so I dont really want to loose him - he is only 19 so the age could have something to do with it also...

See if you can set him up with a high rating for teamwork and workrate as a mentor.

The latter, set him up with an older player with experience and who is devoted to the cause. I've never seen that happen before, is that a part of a new update or are you running it unpatched?

Running it from version 9.03 or what ever the most recent official patch is.
When I say it I was like WTF???
Yeah I will try and find a good older player to team him up with. Cheers for that

Yeah, it would be an addition of the 9.0.3 patch to exacerbate a player's lack of professionalism.

Hmmm, His personality type is balanced... Hopefully its a once off - as you can see by his ratings he is pretty talented for his age...

I just received this offer. It made me literally shout out "Jesus Christ". It would be the 2nd highest transfer fee I've ever received in FM, and because the highest (60 million for Valon Behrami) had a 50% onsale clause, this guy has NOTHING, so I'll get the lot and it will be the most I've ever actually received. He's a good player and all (23 years old, greek, his stats are ridiculous, crossing, dribbling, creativity, pace, stamina, strength, technique all above 18, with almost every other pertinent stat above 15), but it's so much money. His current stats so far as 18 Apps, 4 goals, 5 assists, 7.29. The thing is, I only just bought him. I paid 27 million. It's a great opportunity to turn a profit. So I've decided to negotiate it to 65 million. If AC Milan want to pay that then they can have him. Edited by macktheknife: 1/6/2009 09:54:26 PM

Gun right back i signed from, believe it or not, Newcastle Jets. He had way more potential than the a-league. He's putting in impressive performances and scored a mad free kick. His free kick rating is 19 and he is only 19. http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/6413/picture1bdf.png
