macktheknife wrote:5 minutes into the 2nd leg (I'm away, won the first leg 2-0 with Valencia getting like 2 shots the entire game), Valencia have already pulled back my 2 goal lead. Sigh. I wish it wasn't so predictable. As soon as my right back lost the ball because he forgot how to pass or move away from a challenge, I knew it was going to end up in my goal.
16 minutes in, it's 3-0. **** off. 8 shots, 8 on target. In 16 minutes. When they had 1 in the first leg.
4-0 at half-time.
Out first shot, 55 minutes in, a 30 yard free kick attempt that goes miles high and miles wide.
Finished 5-0. Lost 2 of my players to long term injuries.
Do you wish to save before exiting?
No thanks, I'll come back later and see if the game wants to be more realistic. I know exactly how you feel. I mentioned this before, but I won 4-0 away with Liverpool against Valencia. We had 70% possesion and Michael owen scored a hat-trick. Came back to Anfield, lost the second leg 5-0, conceded three times in the final 10 minutes. Had gerrard sent off for a second yellow for diving as well.

Yeah. There is a huge problem with 2nd legs and AI managers, the game sees a 2nd leg as the "second half", and the AI will give a "Angry" type teamtalk, fire up his players and they go and play like Brazil. 2nd game they obviously didn't get the huge boost they got from the first BS team-talk, and even then still got a 2-2 draw whilst a man down.
When combined with a 2nd leg home advantage, you can see it often in the 1st KO stage, every team who played at home 2nd won the match. One recent was Everton beating Real Madrid 5-0 at Goodison in the 2nd leg after losing 3-0 in the first leg.
******** UL Juve. 3-2. Challenge Keeper seals the CL final win :*)
My CB equal top scorer with my new striker (20). Probably the first time a new striker has actually scored goals for me the season I buy him. No long droughts either barring 4 or 5 games when he arrived.
Finally on the Favoured Personnel list. Only took promotion to the EPL, an FA Cup, FA Trophy and Champions League to do it.
Move into our new stadium next season :D

A keeper with a shit kicking rating will do that to you, Funky. Quote:Yeah. While the AI treats it like the 'second half', yoru options and the media releases and fans treat it like a completely seperate game. They need to find a balance between the two. Perhaps completely re-jig the match set-up for a two-legged clash. Because as it is there's too much luck involved, even when you're 3-0 up from the home leg or whatever you know full well that you can still be fucked over 4-0 or something.

Oh, this is cool. I arranged some glamour friendlies to open up the new stadium.
So of course it gets delayed by 2 months.
But.. probably an even cooler game, the first game at the new stadium, is our 2nd home game in the EPL, vs Liverpool.

"Liverpool have been docked 9 points for going into administration" What's even funnier is that they were top of the table, and now because of the points being docked, Manchester United are champions.

I'm going all Wegner style, going to sign a full team of 15 and 14 year olds for my u18's. I'm pretty sure I can delay signing anyone this season, Portsmouth haven't budged on the defender I want (even though he's unsettled), and whilst I've found a kid at Inter who could replaced my 3rd choice MC/DM (he'd probably push for a 1st team spot as well), I'm not sure spending 30 million on him is especially wise.

No, Wenger style would be if you signed them all for your first team:p

Funky Munky wrote:No, Wenger style would be if you signed them all for your first team:p That's next season  What the fuck is up with some of these kids. 15 year old German, playing for some shit German team. I make an offer, like 25k. He's only valued at 7k. He wants, get this: Full Time contract (so when he turns 17 in 2 years). Backup status. 16k a week. Fuck that kid. Edit - CBF with Wegner style anymore. Don't feel like paying 1 or 2 million for a kid, when most of them reject contracts anyway. If anyone I've already looked at joins, great, but cbf anymore. Two completely reasonable things that FM does just happened to me, and I hate them both.
1) Player just got sold over my head. The price we got was completely worth it (even though we get dogged half of it to be payed over 12 months), but I would really have rathered we kept the player. He was in incredible form.
2) Clubs calling my bluff. That awesome keeper I posted a while ago, Barca have been bugging me about him. Asked how much, I told them 30 million. He's worth 10. Figured they'd get the hint. They came back with a 30 million pound offer the next day#-o . The money would be incredible, but I can't sell him.
So yeah. Both are too completely fair events. I just hate them:p

Won the European Championship.
Won all 3 Group stage matches 2-1 (Russia, Croatia, Czech Republic).
Spain in the quarters. Won 5-3 on Penalties after a 1-1 draw in regular time. I thought about reloading because that's a completely unrealistic result, but in the end I just made a post on the SI forums asking if it would be fixed for FM10
Italy in the Semi. We scored first 15 minutes in, Italy pulled level straight away, 27 minutes we scored and we held them at bay for the rest of the match.
Unbelievably, we had the Czech Republic in the final who had finished 2nd in our group, then defeated Holland and France to make the final.
We came out hard, 3 goals in front after half an hour. Just as it looked like becoming a rout, they turned it around before half time, scoring 2 goals in quick sucession and it had me worried. However, that was the end of the scoring, as we held out again. \:d/ \:d/ \:d/ \:d/ \:d/ \:d/

Found a new wonder kid last night. Unfortunately I found him at 2 am, and on the last day of the transfer window, so I don't think my judgment was up to it's usual standards. Is this kid worth 16m + 10m over 12 months?

I've got a wonder kid. First time i've got one that's been labelled as one. I posted a screen shot on here a couple pages back but he's grown since. 19 for free kicks and always comes close to scoring if he doesn't. And Funky i'm gonna say...yes.

Is this kid worth 16m + 10m over 12 months? I'd say he's worth almost that much. You've been sucked into the old 'pressure buy' on the last day of the window. But he's still a great pick-up. Who'd you buy him off and how was his form before he joined you? Quote:Edit - CBF with Wegner style anymore. If anyone I've already looked at joins, great, but cbf anymore. The best way to do that is look in Brazil/Argentina's youth teams. I've found so many absolute bargains in there it's almost comical.

Who'd you buy him off and how was his form before he joined you? Aston Villa was his old home. Which also makes it a tactical buy, as I have an FA cup tie against them in 2 days:p. With them he'd played 29, 6 goals, 6.96 rating.

Lol. I was going to post up now that I'd just checked through both u20 teams and not a single player was worth buying based on potential or current ability. I'm about to go through their 23's now.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v369/davidbowieWAU/wtf.jpgThat is the moment my player headed the ball. Somehow he missed. Unless he's managed to jump higher than the crossbar, it doesn't even seem physically possible to miss. What if he'd not jumped at all? Would have scored from the corner? ps. I just won the super cup the super cup the super cup I just won the super cup so early in the morning. \:d/ \:d/ \:d/ \:d/ Take THAT Arsenal! Edited by macktheknife: 8/6/2009 10:20:47 PM
