Funky Munky wrote:socceroos_fan wrote:Just wondering, is it only worth it to make up training schedules for positions for young guys? I can't really see how it would help with older players... It depends. I have training schedules for all my players, because my tactics require certain skills to be high, and so my training increases those skills. Otherwise, the 'General' schedule that always starts seems fine, unless you really know what you're doing. Ah k. I don't really know what I'm doing so I'll leave the older ones on 'General'

Yeah, I was going to ask you about that Funky. I've just signed two gun regens, both who have potential ability of the one above quality. ('Regarded as a definite purchase)
How do I make sure they fulfill that potential. One is a RB, one is a AM RL.
Also, what are the important attributes for coaches/youth coaches.
Just signed Pavel Nedved as a coach

The important attributes for coaches depends on what type of coaches they are. If you want them to be training in the attacking side make sure they have good attacking, shooting etc. attributes and for defending make sure they have good defending attributes. As for youth coaches, working with youngsters is a big one and if you have a couple youth coaches then the same as above.

Good question imno, usually I go for high stats in working with youngsters and good stats in attacking, technical and mental coaching. I signed Giggs a while ago as a coach too so hopefully works out well, Neville just retired so I will wait to see whether or not he wishes to coach. S_F, I paid 19 mil straight up as thats what my assistant thought it would take but straight after it was accepted I realized I missed that he had a 13 mil buyout. He is worth it though I agree as at the moment he is rating way higher than Foster ever was and my defence is looking better than it ever has since VDS left. My last few results Friendly: Altrincham 0-8 Manchester United Friendly: Stoke 0-3 Manchester United Friendly: Ajax 0-3 Manchester United Friendly: Malaga 0-1 Manchester United Euro Cup Qualifier: Some Portuguese team 0-3 Manchester United EPL: Manchester United 4-1 Portsmouth EPL: Manchester United 3-0 Ipswitch. I have started the EPL really well and am playing the best football of my career, Veloso has been incredible for me so far with three goals and three assists in all competitions, Tevez has three goals and two assists in all competitions. Im sitting first with two wins on goal difference from Villa and City with Chelsea yet to record a win and Liverpool and Arsenal having just the three points from two games. Tevez has been made captain after the retirement of Neville and Fletcher is vice captain

Yeah, I signed a guy with Youngsters, Attacking, Mental, Technical and Tactical all above 18. Was just making sure I didnt miss an important one, cause he had poor motivating etc.

Quote:Veloso has been incredible for me so far with three goals and three assists in all competitions Thats what Tales does for me every season. 31 assists, 17 goals last season iirc. This year he has 14 assists and 7 goals in 16 games. He is nuts. Sign him, everyone.

It's hard to find a coach who is willing to leave their club that has great stats everywhere. That's a pretty dandy coach right there though.

Serie A is a bit tougher than SPL   Last time I looked he was alright, I had better, but that was two/three years ago. Don't really need an AM though...

Yeah, but he becomes a freaking gun . I reckon he would cut it in Serie A. I had bids for him from Serie A clubs as well as EPL clubs.
Yeah, most coaches say it takes a large offer to persuade them, so I give them a large offer . This guy was cheap though, he was from brazil, on like 1000 a week. I gave him 3k.
My assistant at Ireland, Liam Brady, was Arsenals youth coach. So I went and sniped him from Arsenal, except hes my assistant here at Celtic too, not a youth coach.

I play Veloso in CM where he dictates the play and 99% of his goals are long range screamers or free kicks, I don't think he has ever scored from inside the box. I just signed a GK coach from Brazill who has stats of 20 for Keeping and high stats for younsgters and tactical knowledge. I have him on 550 a week lol. I am aiming to sign some quality shooting and defensive coaches now just to improve things a little. A quick search of some FM sites says that Nedved is a 7 star shooting coach so I might make a bid for him too

I think I have a shot at winning the league however.

-------Lopez--Macca-------- -------------Tales------------ Jurado------------------Mcgeady -------------Edinho------------ Pineda-Wagner--Mosquera-O'Shea -------------Boruc-------------
I think Im going to drop O'Shea though. He got injured, and Cadlwell replaced him, and since then, I've gone 5 games without conceeding.

Awesome regen who has come up from my youth ranks: Arrigo BaldiniIn 5(2) appearances he has scored 4 goals and got 2 assists. Also a MOM. Only 17, soon 18. I've seen players with better stats though, not saying his are bad, and he is playing great. Next season I'm gonna look to him to fill the left mid position, as Maxwell will be 33/34.

My current lineup --------Asenjo--------- -Santon-Vidic-Sakho-Evra -Valencia-Veloso-Fletcher*-Ronaldo -----Tevez------Rooney--- At the moment Fletch isn't that fit due to internationals so Fernandez and Anderson have been filling in for him. Ferdinand is also struggling for fitness so I have Sakho in replacing him. Subs: Marquinhos Nani Fernandez Anderson Mata Ferdninand Keirrison

I got bored with Brighton, so ill keep it going and start it back up later.
Wanted to start with a mid-EPL team, so I picked Newcastle United. I have 18mil to spend, any recommendations?

Luigi Bruins is an excellent AMC, can get him for cheap, he's young too. Gabriel Tamas and Gonzalo Pineda are very good defenders.
EDIT: Finally getting around to starting a new game. Going to start at Aston Villa.
DOUBLE EDIT: Just out of interest, how many leagues do people choose when starting a game? I've got 26 leagues from 18 countries atm.

I don't do 18 countries. Usually England, Australia, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Turkey, Scotland and maybe a few more. Too much I think would slow the game down.

I always went just through the wizard, so I had 3 leagues, but this Newcastle game I've started I picked about 15, it's a lot better player wise, and tbh it hasn't slowed down a lot more for me.

Santon is available for like 2 mil at the start, Keiriosn for 5, Lavezzi goes for 1.6 to Hertha Berlin. I don't know how much money you will need but see if you can sign De La Red from Madrid, I think he is relatively cheap at the start but now in season 4 of my game he is by far madrids best player and one of the best in the game. Vagner Love goes to Villa for just over 5 mil in the first season of my game as well

NOVEMBER UPDATE
Dunfermline 0-2 Celtic (League Cup Qtr) Celtic 4-1 Queen of Sth (SPL) Porto 3-0 Celtic (UCL) Aberdeen 0-1 Celtic (SPL) Celtic 1-0 Hearts (SPL) Hamilton 0-1 Celtic (SPL)
AWARDS Edinho: 1st in Player of the Month Liam Rorke: 1st in Manager of the Month Lisandro Lopez: 3rd in Goal of the Month.
So, with that, my winning run in the league goes to 8 in a row. Rangers dropped 3 points this month, so the table looks like this:
Rangers 37 Celtic 36 Hearts 24 Motherwell 22
That bullshit loss to Porto leaves the UCL table like this:
Tottenham 12 Porto 6 Celtic 3 Stade Rennais 3
I play Rennais next, at home, so I should win that and get into Europa League.
Ireland moved up two places, and I only had one game with them, a disappointing 3-1 loss at home.
