Im sitting second in La Liga now with Atletico in October only one point behind Villareal but with higher goal difference. Ive only lost the one match and the team is looking very good I am really happy with how they are performing but my only problem I think is a lack of defensive depth which I will try and solve in January. I just qualified for Europa after beating Young Boys 8-1 agg and I am lining up like this.

Veloso and Moutinho have taken a while to find their feet in a new league but their last few games have been excellent and have seen them averaging 7.5's while Veloso has scored some important goals Moutinho leads my assists. Gignac is top scoer in La Liga with 7 goals in 9 games while Aguero has 9 in 9 in all comps. Mascio has made some cameo appearances and I started him in an experimental squad in the second leg of the Young Boys match and he scored a brace and picked up an assist, he has six goals in all comps

Dunne is gun for me, for Ireland. Petrov could probably be improved as well.

Mighty Gunners: Pretty strong squad but have to agree with imno about the weak areas. Scott Carson is a great goalkeeper so he could be a possible replacement for Given when he retires. RB you wouldnt wanna look past Glen Johnson, another option could be Jerome Boateng. LB i can personally recommend Alexander Kolarov, been one of my best signings, doesnt have the best stats but always delivers. For LM Yuri Zhirkov is a must

Just spent the last half hour taking screenshots of all the details of my new tactic from FM10, to transfer it over to FM09, because the actual tactics files aren't backwards compatible. If this tactic doesn't work in 09, gonna be shattered.

Finished the season on top of the table by 20 points and unbeaten all season in the league. There really is no one good enough in the league to take me on at the moment. Dortmund are the last ones to take the title from me, and before them it was Bayern. This is my 7th title in a row, not to mention all the cups in between.

Onlu down note on the season is losing to Barcelona, my arch nemesis in Europe (I've lost to them to twice in the UCL final), in the Quarter finals on penalties. We were cruising at 2-0 up after a 3-2 loss at Camp Nou, but after half time my team fell asleep and Barcelona fought back to 3-2. We should have won that tie but my goalie made a fatal mistake and barely recovered from it. I'm thinking I might have to replace him soon as he is 33 now. My Kiwi keeper has done well.

But jesus christ I'm hating Barcelona. The bastards are the only real threat I have in Europe at the moment particularly seeing as how I have some of the best players in the world now, not to mention they try to nick my players perenially. Albeit failing to do so, but it's still annoying.

Totally not worth it. In the next couple of days I'll be getting a phone call from EB telling me that my copy of FM10 has arrived and that I'm all set to rock socks.

Yeah, probably because there's more emphasis on the 'rock/paper/scissors' thing where certain tactics beat others.

Is Juan Manuel Mata the gun player in FM09 which everyone refers to?
