So so far I've signed Rakitic and Zarate for a total of 21m and I'm allowing Lucas to leave for 5.5m and loaning out Babel becuase nobody would pay for him :lol: I'm also negotiating a 10m deal for Cardozo...I'll probably have to sell someone like Kuyt or Maxi to get the deal done.

So it's now 5am and in the last 5 hours I've managed to negotiate my way to the sale of Ryan Babel for 15m, Lucas for 5.5m and Kyrgiakos for 8m...

I've brought in Rakitic for 5m (bargain IMO), Zarate for 14m, Dzeko for 15m and Cardozo for 10m and I've got a swap deal in place for Ngog +5m for Cassani with Palermo to sure up my fullback problems.

I'm thinking a january raid for Kjaer should have my squad pretty strong.

Who are the bargains that you have noticed thus far?
Most of the good FM10 bargains like your Veloso's, Di Maria's and VDV's have moved on since so they won't come cheap

In my first season, I took Central Coast into the finals. Finished 6th, was knocked out by Brisbane in the minor semi losing in the 118th minute when Rose gave away a penalty.

Have already picked up Adam Griffiths, Jamie Coyne and Matthew Leckie for next year, so I think I should do a lot better next season. Hopefully get into the ACL.

is Leckie any good on the game?

Yeah, you can't get them at all. The agent cuts things out from under you. I tried with Veloso. And I forgot to turn on the Portugese League so there's no Moutinho.

Ummmmmmmm...so far I'd say Rakitic for 5m and Cardozo for 10 are reasonable deals.

Simon Kjaer is only rated at 5m...so I think I could pick him up reasonably cheap in January...but he just moved from Palermo so there's no chance right now.

Neven Subotic is only rated at 4.1m but Dortmund don't want to part with him for anything less than 15m.

You can pick up Fred for about 12m, Likewise for Luis Suarez.

You can pick up Fabian Coentrao for around 8m.

There aren't any real 'bargains', but there are a few players around for a reasonable fee.

He is pretty good. Won young player of the year. Most assists in the A-League. Will get a better idea once he starts playing for CCM. Starting that season tonight.

Can I ask a question that may sound really noobish but I have never played a FM game before and I just bought FM11. My question is, how can I find out the overall rating of a player? My assistant coach recommended I sign 2 strikers but I'm not sure how to compare them :?

Players don't have overall ratings in FM. Basically, you have to work it out based on the attributes shown. So for a striker, you'd want high finishing, high composure, and other stuff depending what sort of striker you want (High heading/strength for a Target Man, High speed/acceleration for a Poacher). So you compare the Key attributes for each player, and work out whose better from that.

Ok I have one already: Are the attribute rating shown rated out of 100 or something? Also, how can I find out the attributes of a player that has everything blank? (I'm assuming I have to scout them?)

Attributes are out of 20. I generally look at it as:
1-5: Crap
5-10: Average
10-12: Decent
12-15: Good
15-17: Great
17-20: World Class

Yeah, blank players, you have to scout. Scouting won't show you all the attributes, but it'll show you the key ones for his position. Most of the time anyway, depends how good your scouts are, etc.

Another one: How come I can see all these players I want to buy from the Maltse Premier League and their name is there but greyed out, and when I click on them there is no option to make an offer or even to scout? Am I able to sign these players?

Grey players don't exist in the DB and are there to 'make up the numbers'.

Yup. Occasionally you might get a grey player in your squad, if you have a run of injuries or something, and FM decides that you're short that kind of player. But otherwise, they're just filler.

It's just because those teams are there. If you check out the German National side, it's filled with Grey players because SI can't get the rights to the German National team.

Ok for some reason Rostyn Griffiths is set as the Mariners' marquee player. Am I able to change this?

I haven't played the A-League in ages, but IIRC, Your Marquee is jsut instantly set to your highest paid player. This might have changed though, someone else whose played there recently can tell you for sure.

I assume so, but yeah, I'd get confirmation from someone whose playing in the A-Leauge recently first.

About to start my 2nd season with CCM and the board expects me to qualify for the ACL as I have brought in Jamie Coyne, Adam Giffiths, Gol-Gol Mebrahtu, Matthew Leckie and just got Matt McKay. Have sold Brad Porter, Nick Mrdja, John Hutchinson and Adam Kwasnik.

Hopefully can qualify for it. Have a strong enough squad.

The game won't let me sign players from the A-League for some reason. Even when those coming off contract soon :(

How do I make subs at half-time and though the match without just doing a quick sub? Like can I sub half the team in a friendly at half time?
