So I got bored, decided to download a few England saves that go up to 2025. Pretty funny looking at 2020 and seeing Fabregas still at Arsenal. West Ham winning the title:lol:
So lets see what FM predicts:lol:
According to FM Spain will beat Portugal 2-1 infront of 95,000 people at the Maracana at the 2014 WC. Mexico will host the 2018 WC with Spain going down to Italy 2-1 thanks to a Mario Balotelli double, but will be hosting the 2022 WC:lol:
Japan will win the Asian Cup next year beating Iran 1-0 and then defend their title in 2015 against South Korea, who then will beat Iran 1-0 in 2019:lol:
Argentina will beat Brazil next year in the Copa America, but Brazil will in in 2015 with Argentina winning in 2019 5-3 against Chile.
Holland will beat Russia 3-0 in the Final of Euro 2012. England will finally make a major championship final in 2016 but lose 2-1 to Spain, who will defend their title against Scotland in 2020. Yes Scotland:lol:
Here's the Champions League winners: 2011 - Barcelona 2012 - Juventus 2013 - Real Madrid 2014 - Man City 2015 - Chelsea 2016 - Chelsea 2017 - Atletico Madrid 2018 - West Ham 2019 - Juventus 2020 - Benfica 2021 - Sevilla
Europa League winners 2011 - Inter Milan 2012 - Villrreal 2013 - Atletico Madrid 2014 - Werder Bremen 2015 - Man Utd 2016 - Real Madrid 2017 - Juventus 2018 - Real Madrid 2019 - Man Utd 2020 - AS Monaco 2021 - Bordeaux
Man Utd will continue their dominance in the Premier League taking 6 of the next 11 titles with the other 5 being shared between Arsenal, West Ham, Chelsea and Man City.
In 2020 Mesut Ozil will be playing in the West Ham reserves:lol: Fabregas will still be at Arsenal. Messi will still be at Barca as will Ronaldo at Madrid. Rooney will still be at United, as will Jonny Evans and Danny Welbeck.
Mancini will be managing Man Utd:lol: Zola will still be managing West Ham. Ancelotti will still be at Chelsea. Hugo Sanchez will be managing Arsenal:lol:  Robbie Keane and Fernando Hierro will be on the coaching staff at Liverpool As will Steven Pienaar and David Nugent at Man City. Paul Jewell will be managing Sp*rs:lol:

I recall someone posting a thread on the SI forums with a save that had been done 200 years ahead.

Yeah I found a save that was like in 2143
Just went ahead to 2025, and Australia have just won the Confederations Cup after winning the 2023 Asian Cup, but are ranked 100th in the world

Only lasted 2 pages coz people realised he had take control halfway through for a few seasons instead of just simming it all. Under his management some bloke ended up with like 250 goals in a season

I played Everton at Goodison, and after the 60th minute I only had 10 players on the park because they injured Coentrao, Koncheksey, Jovanovic AND Aurelio so now I have NO fucking left sided players (except Cole) for the game against United mid-week. RAGE

Inter just offered me Wesley Sneijder for 15m...I don't have the budget...I've never cried at FM before, but this could be a first...

Haven't really gotten into any game yet, really need a new challenge.
What is a game that you have, that has stood out above the rest? Or what is a game that would pose a real challenge?

Short-term challenge with long term potential: take over at Sunderland.

Yeah, maybe North QLD... but also looking at long term challenges?
Thinking of taking over a 2nd division Turkish, or Spanish club.

Long-term you want to take over somewhere in the brazilian second division...you're talking a 20+ year career to get to the top flight, do well enough to get a chance in europe and progress up europe.

I quite like what he has to say regarding some things...but he's playing a heavily outdated version...

He makes some extremely good points regarding the usage of Genie Scout. Yeah, and youth prospects/player knowledge. He also makes a good point about contract renewals with staff, the media and international development, and personalised keyboard shortcuts...you used to be able to do that...I dunno why you can't anymore.

So, I started game with Las Palmas in La Liga Adelante (2nd division Spain). Pretty pathetic squad, and have a transfer balance of $0. So I have to now revert to free transfers.
So far I have signed Andy Van Der Meyde, Edgar Davids, a young Colombian called Edixon Perea, someone called Boris, and am on the verge of securing Jorge Soto- a 37 year old Peruvian.
Squad is still relatively weak, but do have around $200,000 to spend because of the sale of a few players.

IIRC, Perea is quite useful. There's a few decent free transfers floating around at the start of the game.
I don't think you can sign south americans in the second division though unfortunately.

Tried to find a hot key list on the Sega FM10 ste, but there isnt one.

Anyway, how do you guys actually play the game? I mean, do you guys view games in whole, extended highlights, or just key moments? Does anyone actually scout opponents matches prior to playing them? I tried it once when doing a world cup, but didnt get much success from it. I generally try and stay away from downloading tactics and getting tips on who the wonderkids are, as I find it more fun to find it all out yourself. Do you guys start off at your favorite club? I usually try and start off at a weak club (sometimes in the A-League) and my ultimate goal is to develop a reputation that gets me offers from Barca, etc. I'm currently at a cross roads as I'm playing with Boro, and have taken them from a mid championship side to a mid EPL team (and on the up), and have just now got a job offer from Liverpool. I think I'll shy away from the new job though, as I still have a lot more to do with Boro, and if all goes well, the cunts will be naming a stadium after me.

In order of your questions:P -Key Moments for me. Although when I'm first using a tactic I'll watch extended highlights, and analyse the game more, to see if the team are following instructions, etc.
-I never bother scouting opponents.
-Ditto, I like to create my own tactics, feels a lot better when they're succesful.
-I always start at Celtic, to try and win the ECL. After that is Bristol Rovers, to get them to the Premier League and become champions. I generally move on in these saves though, and manage 3/4 different clubs.

Key Moments, i use to do extended but took too long, like Funky with analysing new tactics i go to the analysis screen to check out general positioning and passing etc etc
always have the scout opponents on, not that it's always useful but just get into that routine, find it useful in Europe and when i'm playing big teams in the league
create own tactics, Diamond 442 which changes into a 451 for the win
normally start at Liverpool or Sydney and just have them as my generic saves which i always have running, but i sometimes start in the Scottish 2nd Division with Gretna or Stratnear and work my way up to Celtic, then see where that leads me... my last one of that i went to PSG then to West Ham and won the league and then to Valencia...
what do people have on there profile, do you start with ex-international, thought it was abit bullshit when i got offered the Barca job when i was at Sydney FC after Barca had won the european cup, abit ridiculous so i've set it at ex-pro for awhile

I like starting in lower divisions and working up to the Newcastle job. Currently in Dutch 2nd division.
