The change to transfers looks really good. I don't know whether it will make things better or worse though.
played my ECL quarter against Inter last night and after clinging to a 0-0 draw in Milan I managed to scrape a 1-0 win at home. I was so stoked...then I drew Arsenal.
So far I've knocked out: Napoli and Manchester United and defeated Dynamo in the group stage, pumped CSKA Moscow 4-1 in the 1st KO round and defeated Inter 1-0 in the Quarters...Even if I can't beat Arsenal I'm stoked that we've made it so far.

Got completely over FM for a while, but decided to do something fun and sell my entire squad and buy a new one
Finished 7th in the league when I holidayed pretty much all through it and made it into Europa. Got an easy group and I'm going to make it out of it.
Struggling in the league though, 12th or something.

Travelled to London to face Arsenal, went 2-0 down inside of 19 minutes and was far from happy but Formica and Vela struck in the space of a minute to get us back on parity just before the break. We took the lead through Lukaku on 54 minutes but Nasri struck back to make it 3-3 four minutes later. And then things went pear-shaped, after 62 minutes Vidal got himself sent off with a straight red for a silly tackle (now my ELEVENTH red card this season - four of those have been Vidal) and I've set the tackling to 'cautious'. What the fuck can I do?!). I parked the bus and managed to cling on until the 86th minute when Bendtner headed the winner home. I'm pretty stoked to have 3 goals to our name and the home leg to come, I think I can get us through! Still disappointed at the way we lost and that I'll be missing Vidal in the second leg...and the final.

Despite Vidal being out for the second leg, Arsenal didn't even show up and Azofeifa and Lukaku scored a brace each to beat them 4-0 at Grolsch Veste. Stoked.

The English language just had a fatal aneurysm right there. I'm up to the ECL final against Zenit...trying to convince myself to get on with it.

I havent played a pc based management game for nearly 8 years. I was playing 4-3-3 the online football manager until it shut down a couple of years back. i wanted to ask you guys if you knew of another decent online management game other than hat-trick (i just couldnt get into it) otherwise ill look to either football manager or fifa manager as long as i can create my own team.

Most of the online ones are either too basic, or you're managing a team in the tenth tier of english football.

FM12 will be the most in-depth, comprehensive and entertaining Football managing game ever. You should get it.
I'm hooked on my new save with Southampton (my brother accidently deleted my FC Twente save that hadd 10hrs worth of gameplay on it). I've taken the to the prem with b/2/b promotions and look to consolidate them as a mid table club, whilst shaking off the debts I've raked up signing Michael Owen, Johnathon Woodgate, Owen Hargreaves, Michael Chopra and David Nugent and all the physios I've had to hire to look after them...hahaha.

Looking to bring in Adriano, Muntari and Granero on free transfers and move along Correa, Jansssen, RVN, JVOH and probably Toro, spent 10m to bring in Paolo Henrique from Santos. Could be bargain of the year there. I've also got Sergio Romero coming in on a free transfer because Marco Amelia never really hit his straps as second choice.

Summer signings going swimmingly as always.
In: Paulo Henrique - Santos - 10m. Sergio Romero - AZ Alkmaar - free. Adriano - Roma - free. Esteban Granero - Real Madrid - free. Sulley Muntari - Inter - free. Artem Milevskyi - Dynamo Kiev - free.
Out: Toro - Le Mans - 2.5m (signed for free). Gale Adbossoumonde - Roda JC - free (signed for 425k). Cristian Ortiz - Randers FC - 1.1m (signed for free). Correa - Panathinaikos - 600k (signed for free). Genaro Snijders - Panathinaikos - 1.7m (signed for free). Oussama Darragi - Porto - 2m (signed for free).
Chris David, Wouter Dronkers, Steffen Hibbernik all also released. I'm still looking to offload a couple of players, the depth in my squad is amazing right now though.
Casual 2m spent this summer with Marco Almunia currently in negotiations to depart the club for 3m with a dozen teams.
Full Squad:
b]Keepers: Sergio Romero, Vincent Enyeama, Nikolay Mihaylov. Defenders: Angelo Ogbonna, Cristian Chivu, Oguchi Onyewu, Rafael Toloi, Carlos Diogo, Leo Den Breejen (regen), Bart Buysse, Roberto Rosales Midfielders: Matias Schelotto, Wout Brama, Suley Muntari, Arturo Vidal, Theo Janssen, Jonathan De Guzman, Adam Rorke (regen), Esteban Granero, Simon Vukcevic, Randall Azofeifa, Paulo Henrique Forwards: Carlos Vela, Adriano, Humberto Suarzo, Romelu Lukaku, Artem Milevskyi.
So the question is...who do I sell on? I don't really want Brama or Janssen, but I need them for the HG players in the ECL. Now more so than ever with Van Nistelrooy and JVOH retiring. Conundrums.

I brought in Muntari to cover for Vidal because Arturo got himself sent off FOUR TIMES last season...and now just 35 seconds into the new season he gets shown red again. Unbelievable. I don't know what to do with him. He's got tackling of 16, composure of 16, aggression of 14, positioning of 15, bravery of 18.
What the hell do I do?

Bored with it now, just fucking around with the editor. Made Heart, Victory, Jets and Brisbane financial powerhouses but they still can't sign any players (?). Crowds and staff are very, very good but. Also made my fave FM player, Alberto Paloschi, to have a CA of 250, absolutely fucking dominant; 49 goals in 32 premier league games. Ballon D'or 10 years straight Also I hate it when my assistant says that I can sign a player for 17.75 million but bloody Flamengo want 25 million. Happens every fucking time
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Quote:Career Mode (aka adding/removing leagues)
Although we release a version of Football Manager each year, there are always some features that take longer than the one year cycle to get right. The 3d match viewer introduced in FM2009 was being worked on in various guises for 3 years before it was unleashed onto the world. Last year’s competition editor was in the works for a long while, as was dynamic reputation.
With FM12, we introduce something that has also been worked on for a few years, and it’s something that’s been requested a lot in the last couple of years, particularly amongst those that tend to have long term career games.
It’s always been the case that the more leagues you have running in the game at any time, the slower time will seem to move, due to all of the extra matches to be played, and data to process. That meant that, for people who want to be able to move around Football Manager’s 50+ playable countries leagues, they would be getting a slower experience than those who, say, just want to manage in the Scottish Premier league.
You now have the ability to add and remove countries to your saved game each season.
For those of you who have been following the different announcements for Football Manager 2012, you’ll know this already, of course. But we’re still getting lots of questions about exactly how it works so, hopefully, this blog will explain that!
Essentially, at any time during the season, you can go to the “add/remove” league, and choose a countries league, or a level of a countries league, and, err, add or remove it.
If you add a new league, or a new level to a league (and by that I mean that if you’d started a game running just the top division in a country, and wanted to add the next level down should it be available in the game), it tells you the date that the league will become active, which tends to be a few weeks in game before the league is due to start.
But where do all the players come from? Anyone who has played the game in the past will know that with inactive leagues, not all the teams have full squads like they do if the league is active. So if you’re 5 seasons into your career, and decide to add another league, surely those teams won’t have enough players and the whole game world will be imbalanced?
That was probably the hardest part of adding this feature in to crack, but crack it we have. What happens is that when the league is added, it works out exactly how players would have progressed in the game should they have been playing in active leagues. It doesn’t play out all the previous seasons’ matches, as that would make it a very slow and long process, but the players skills will change as though they were there all along – including youth players being released by clubs if they aren’t good enough, and players retiring if they get old.
Also, if you add a league some 20 years into your game, it is unlikely that many players from the original DB still survive, so the game also knows how to fill such teams with older newgen players, to simulate newgens that would have come through the club youth scheme if the league had been active all along.
Taking leagues away is also easy, so if you aren’t happy with the speed of your game, you can remove a countries league, or just a level of the league.
You can also use this feature with custom leagues, ones that you can make with the Football Manager data editor, or download others edited leagues online, although they need to be in place when you first start the game.
And if you are someone who plays the demo before release and then like to continues their demo saved game with the full game, you'll be able to add leagues to this save too.
