Starting as GCU again as I type this. I habitually save after each match so I don't have this problem. COULD THIS GET ANY CLOSER TO THE BOX AND NOT BE A PENALTY?! Jennifer Robinson in the top right corner ;)

If you click FM12 and it says the game is currently unavailable you can verify game cache and it works again.

After becoming familiar with the new layout/tactics etc, I've decided to start my first 'proper' game where I'm actually looking to go for a while. Will start in the BSS/BSN, or maybe in the eight tier, depending on the teams I find.

Got over BF3, back to FM.
Up 4-1 at Atletico, already qualified for the CL, 92nd minute (of 1 minute injury time), Rooney chases the ball for no apparent reason, does a hamstring. Out three months.
Did you really need to chase the ball Wayne?
Neymar going to have to play up front.

3 from 3 in League 2, beat Bristol Rovers 5-1. Should be an easy league with my squad.

You know how you can got to facilities and check out your stadium and pitch condition...And you can actually see the pitch condition in the match system. Can you see stadium condition in the match system?

Stadium condition would be reflected by attendances I'd think.

Took over Lincoln United in the eight tier of English football. Why this team? I used to play for their Under 14s. Class team that was, won the league undefeated with me as the top scorer. Those were the glory days. :P
As you would expect for this tier of football, the players are crap. It's no use looking for technically gifted players, better off searching for smart players who have pace or strength. The only problem with the squad is that all the players are on non-contracts, so other teams can come and take them whenever they want. It's the same for the whole tier though, so I can also steal some top players.
Playing a 4-4-2 formation, with a AML and AMR. Two centre-mids are box-to-box and ball-winning. Aim is to outmuscle the opposition midfield, get the ball to the pacy wingers and then, with some luck, get the ball to the strikers who even though have terrible finishing attributes, seem to be doing alright so far in pre-season.
Club was in the red when I arrived, so I might have to arrange some high-paying friendlies during the season and play my youth/reserve team to generate some cash. At least I don't have wagebills to worry about.
Predicted 15th in a 22-team league, but the teams are so close ability-wise, there's no guessing where I'll end up.

I got Wrexham to League 2 with a few free-transfer technically talented players. It's quite easy...

The Berisha - Covic incident got my thinking. How many times in your FM career have you had to sub off your keeper for a red card or injury. None for me and I play for a shitload of hours. This brings up another question: Is there a need for a keeper on the bench then? A few leagues require it but I might start replacing my sub keeper with a more needed outfield one...Also maybe FM should implement that kind of incident into their match system. It's quite common.
How about you?

I've had a few injured goalkeepers. It always seems to happen when I have used all my subs early in the match.

Yeah, i've had to sub a keeper once or twice. Think I posted a video of it in this thread once, where Ochoa collected the ball on the edge of the box, and then stepped outside of it and was red carded.

But is there a real need for a keeper on the bench...? It's risky but...

Edited by nhub24: 6/11/2011 10:34:01 AM It's entirely up to you. I always do, but that's out of habit more than anything, and because the SPL declares you have to have one on the bench.

Put it this way, my top scorer in the league has an attribute of 2 for finishing, first touch, dribbling and long shots. His composure is 12 and his pace 16. He's so quick he just gets behind defences into positions where anyone could score.

Season 2012/13
I say any season we win the league is a good season. After a less that stellar start, we stayed top 3 the entire year, with a dip around the 25th game, before surging ahead to win the title with 3 games to spare. 1st: Us 2nd: Blue scum. 3rd: Chelsea 4th: Arsenal then Tottenham, Liverpool, West Brom. Fulham, Blackburn and Ipswich for the drop. FA Cup: We came up against Chelsea in the 3rd round, absolutely horrid game, lost 1-3. We then beat them 2-1 in the very next match in the EPL, so I guess the more important result for the better. Blackburn beat Liverpool on Penalties despite being relegated from the EPL. Carling Cup: Played kids, lost 3-2 to Barnsley. Tottenham beat Middlesborough in the final. Champions League:Cruised a group stag with Atletico, Lorient and Napoli, then a 7-1 Agg win vs Marseille. We got knocked out with a dire 4-1 agg loss to Lyon, just another horrible match. Probably one of our worst for the season, we got dominated for no apparent reason, none of the tactical switches worked, and we ended up with 10 men after Hazard came on then broke down again. Rio is probably going to leave as well, he's 34 now, he only played 10 games this year, and his wages are quite big. Financially we're in the *******, buying all these players + the loans is neverending debt, Glazers going to have to put up some cash hopefully. Even after CL and EPL money, we're still £62m in the red :D Oh, nevermind. Gill has given us £80m, with the sponsorships coming in at the same time, we've got £104m in the balance. Transfers: Out:De Laet, Hendrie, McCullough, Lawrence, Michael Owen, Tunnicliffe, Daehil, Evans, Amos, Giggs, Liverin, King, Keane: Free Transfer Clevery - West Brom - £5m Macheda - Palermo - £2.5 Lindegarrd - Stuttgart - £2.8m Park Ji Sung - PSG - £1m Wellbeck - Southampton - £5m In:Yaan M'Villa - £32.5 Eden Hazard - £40m Neymar - £35m Mats Hummels - £40m An assortment of about 10 or so good youth prospects for around a million each. Squad (Includes many of the youth prospects, because they played a few games at the end): http://i41.tinypic.com/20a6r0i.jpgFirst post of the page - can we not have a page stretch? Thank you kindly.
