Thanks alot Seth Efrika for ruining the game with this awful sound. Honestly it terrible. The TV networks need to work out a way to filter the sound or I am watching the rest of the WC on mute.

well if you want to watch on mute, then by all means.

what does everyone expect. you give the world cup to south africa, you must take all that comes with the game. vuvuzelas are part of the culture and taking them out would ruin the cup.

i love the vuvuzelas, my tv wouldnt go loud enough for me to hear them. the atmosphere is awesome and they are part of football in south africa.

damn this messed up eggball country. if only qantas were cheaper, id be on a flight tomorrow to south.

Maybe they should just allow them to be played at SA games. My housemate went to bed because the sound just annoyed him. I have been trying to get him to love football for ages. It takes away the natural rythm of a crowd, the ooh's ahh's and singing and chanting. I will have one more whinge, Craig Foster talked for far too long, shut up and let us soak it up when players are about to walk out, the SA players were singing, hated listening to Craig Foster over that.

They are ridiculous.

Any suggestions on a good radio commentary stream? I have been told BBC are good. Will try them tonight. Will listen to ABC grandstand when aussies play.

It honestly didn't bother me as much as I thought it would, and you'd think it'd be at its worst for the South African games.

everyone should know that this is africa, this is what you get for being in africa.

its part of the culture and part of the world cup. imagine if people had to complain with a european culture. you cant take them away.

get used to the things or its going to be a long month for you. they dont even affect me any more.

:lol: If you watched the France Uruguay game, the crowd got shit bored - so did i- and for most of the match they wern't too bad. They were quiet, only a handful were being blown, but another notable thing about that match, half way though the first half i noticed there were some gaps in the crowd. Patches of empty seats here and there. These grew halfway through the second half.

Really who wants to watch Uruguay and France though :P

Vuvuzelas are awesome in my opinion. Create a different atmosphere.

Being very much part of the culture, I think they are fine.
I think Australia needs it's own way of showing appreciation that doesn't always have to COMPLETELY follow the English in this game.

Mickyoo, I couldn't agree more. They are absolutely killing the atmosphere. Just the sound of a demented swarm of mosquitos in the background and nothing else. Where are the drums, the trumpets, the boos, the chanting ! Shit, Mexico were playing and I never heard one trumpet. Being English, I just hope the supporters smash every Vuvuzela within reach. Then we can hear the Engerlands, the chanting, the Great Escape, the full nine yards......

p.s. For all you "this is S.A. football culture, get over it". What happened to diversity ? Let the rest of the world supporters do their own thing.

They annoyed me during the start of Mex vs RSA...but withing 10 minutes they grew on me, and I love the sound of them...plus theyre not annoying, they fade to background noise soon enough and you get used to it.

They ban vuvuzelas and the like at the MCG and other AUS stadiums. Where is the diversity there?
Not sure of the rules in the UK. Are they banned there too?
Sick to death of the English chants in soccer being replicated elsewhere.

Who said anything about banning anything. Just respect the English supporter's rights to be heard. And if you don't, hopefully they'll take the bloody things off you and smash them.

Didn't find it that annoying - I think I'd built up a bit of a complex since the Confed Cup and remembered it as something far worse.

The MCG is where they play all the blockbusters, cricket and the Grandfinal :-" .
They also play soccer there. When they do, vuvuzelas are banned.

Actually, I just asked if they were banned and I don't know why they would take them off me to smash them. I don't own one and wouldn't personally use one. It's not my culture.

I do respect the supporters rights. But in this case they are in a foreign country, so should respect the rights of supporters there too.
Maybe the English just need to sing a little louder. Put your hearts into it people !

It was definitely more annoying during the games I saw at the confederations cup last year. What his face from the african team even said they were not loud enough.

It'll get worse when the fans start getting use to them and start pimping them out of their arse.

Either that or they placed the mics in a better spot ;)

either way, i respect the culture and if this is part of them celebrating the sport then so be it but i know these buzzing sounds don't respect my ears :P
