Destiny looks amazing. Sony won the hardware battle, Xbox winning the game showcase (imo). Because of Halo 27 and Gears of War 14? Please don't say it's because of Call of Duty 12 :-s I don't like either, but Xbox will never have games like Uncharted or Last of Us. -PB Theres been what 3 uncharted games on the PS3? 4 Gears of War games current gen 4 Halo's current gen Whats the big difference, that you allude to but not state? Please don't say its because they're all the same, because then I genuinely worry that you're coming from a Video Game 'hipster' point of view, as opposed to someone who genuinely believes this stuff. Fuck off I'm a hipster, I'm just someone who played games when games were good and NOT just cash cows like your Halos and CoDs. That's the point I am making, stupid people buy shit like that when nothing has changed. Halo 1-3 were good and it should of been left there, Halo without Bungie is not Halo. So yeah, when I see the some old re-hashed shit like CoD Ghosts being peddled and the retarded 14 year old kids who get their parents to waste money on that shit, yeah I shake my head. The difference was and why I used a game like Last of Us is because they are genuine AAA titles. Games like Halo 27 etc are games that are just living in the shadows of their previous popularity. -PB

I can think of plenty of times it's happened to me in the past. I had my Internet go down around the middle of last year, and it was down for 2 weeks. Why should my console be locked from playing games when its something I can do nothing about? I just honestly can't think of a single reason for always online being a good thing.

Although I agree that its not a good thing, i don't think it's as bad as some people make it out to be. A simple solution to internet being out is just to hotspot your phone quickly, authenticate, then turn it off- all the xbox needs to do is have a connection to check, it's not that big of a deal.

The phone hotspot idea is good, but the whole thing seems to just be a needless hassle. It's a feature thats bringing absolutely nothing positive to the table, while causing nothing but hassle and impacting on people's freedom to play games whenever and wherever they want to. It's fair enough people are so against it IMO.

It bring nothing to the table for us as gamers, but you can see why debs/publishers were pushing for a DRM system to be included. Rumour has it that the big publishers were demanding DRM on the PS4, but backed down after Sony threatened to sever ties with (EA) I think the rumour has it.

Yeah for sure, I was speaking purely from a consumer perspective.
Anyway, consoles aside, some of the games announced look sick. Dark Souls 2, The Division, Order: 1886 all look amazing.

A recent EU Court decision held that Steam must provide a means to allow the selling and purchase of used games. Yes, Steam.

Industry insiders say it was MS who pushed the DRM ideas to the publishers, EA loved it, but oddly enough, activision didn't.

For those interested in the PS4, you can reorder it from Amazon for $420 delivered, as opposed to the $549 au.

does e3 remind anyone else of the stark convention in ironman?
xbox or ps has never even been a question for me. i started my gaming life on sega, have consistently kept up with nintendo (snes, 64, gamecube, wii) as a fun thing, and i had a ps1 when it came out. the people who got into xbox were the people who jumped ship imo - traitors that got caught up in the hype of halo. i'm loyal, and i've never had an issue with playstation. nothing xbox-related has ever even caught my attention enough to switch tbh.
my only problem is i can't see myself forking out for the ps4 too soon. i stuck with the ps2 for ages, and eventually got the shits at how different the fifa releases were to the ps3 so updated.
does someone have a link on the $100-cheaper ps4 i can buy, though?

In the last few days we have seen some great press by Sony with their 30 second how to share PS4 games and terrible publicity for Microsoft here both going to the hardcore gamers which are the minority of gamers but make majority of the noise.

I've always been a Microsoft/Xbox person but I have 0 intention of getting the XBone to be honest.
