Is Amazon the cheapest place for a PS4 atm?

Mate posted this Reddit Thread on FB and it covers a lot of the concerns people have stated about the Xbone. It's certainly toned down my dislike of it, and the features as described there actually sound neat.


They've obviously trapped themselves a bit, with how they've put things in. They wanted disc-less gaming, but it's forced them into the DRM and restrictions on trading/used games. In the end, while their system of doing things may still work on that front, and does appear as an improvement on others, it still seems to be adding far too much hassle where there doesn't need to be.

I'm still well and truly in favour of the PS4. Everything about the console/controller looks better in my eyes, and I don't think there's a single Xbox exclusive that truly interests me. But I could definitely foresee picking up an Xbone one day if there are future exclusives that catch my eye.

It's just a classic example of third console syndrome. After two consoles complacency becomes apparent and they take their fanbase for granted.

NES, SNES, N64 (no where near as big as playstation because it kept with cartridges)

SMS, SMD, Saturn (too much diversification for this poorly supporte platform)

PS1, PS2, PS3 (way too expensive on launch with a limited selection of games for a long time)

XBOX, 360, Xbone (DRM, limited sharing and on selling Iof games)

Was a reading a recap of the Sony press conference earlier today and have to admit it was hilarious seeing Sony so clearly and directly attacking their direct competitor :lol:

I was loving 2k12 and then my xbox got the red ring and I never played it again. Maybe I should pick up 2k14, any new features?

Just ordered Grid 2, I hope it's as good as the original.

im a bit cynical about fifa 14 for me the changes they are making could easily be patched to fifa 13

Same goes for BF3->BF4.

Smart move. I might get one now based on the disc sharing being enabled alone.

As a game developer said earlier this week - it's hard enough to make a game that works without the extra barrier of always online being one extra thing that can make your game fail. A single player game shouldn't even know if you're online or not.

I dunno where I stand on this. For me, the Xbone had 2 Features I disagreed with (Always Online, and Kinect Requirement), and one feature I was really keen on (The Family/10 Friends sharing). Now they're removed that one good feature, and one of the bad features. But that just leaves it with one feature I really dislike, and nothing to make it stand out.

For me now, the two consoles are pretty much level, except one is cheaper, more powerful, and doesn't force me to use some shitty camera function that I have no interest in.

the disk sharing change has made Xbox look stupid but it is a smart move. I think this problem will fix itself anyway as more people move towards getting their games digitally.

This. All this has changed for me is now I'll probably get an Xbone a year or two down the line after a price drop or two.

Herb really doesn't seem to know much about the product. He's just a pr stooge. There was another thing during e3 where he announced it as Xbox exclusive, then went back and retracted.

Cost difference will be $50 in Australia. My wife is into the kinect and my kid is starting to take more notice of the games I play so will be into it as well, so this change has probably swung me back over to #TeamXbox.

I guess it's good that they've listened to feedback. But the fact they didn't foresee this in the first place fills me with great concern. :?

They were banking on people being used to, and accepting, the steam model of business.

Interesting to see the rumours floating around that the 'Family Share' wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Lots saying that those 10 friends would get access to your games for an hour per game, and that was it.

The more I read about Watch Dogs the more psyched I am for it.

Also rumours around that PS4 will be released, in Europe at least, on November 13.

People were waiting for more first party games from Sony for PS4 it does it look like they will deliver. In response to Microsoft's announcement of 15 exclusives, 8 of them being new IPs, in the first year for the Xbone, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe CEO Jim Ryan has said there will be 20 exclusives in the first year, 12 of them being new IP's. He also announced that there would be more game announcements at Gamescom in August.

This isn't any really big surprise considering Sony owns way to many studios for them not to have a whole bunch of exclusives.

What is? They both look butt-ugly.

Ps3 controller always felt a bit small. Assuming the Xbone controller is same size as 360 controller, that will have been fixed. Only concern I had about the PS4 controller.
