So we're linked with Smeltz, Culina, Kevin Phillips and Michael Owen. Methinks it's a good time to be a Newcastle fan \:d/ \:d/ \:d/ Oh and fuck the gypos
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Oh and fuck the gypos We've celebrated early in the past and have walked away very disappointed. I'll wait til any of these players sign on the dotted line before I rejoice.

I'm getting on the 2:43pm train from Broadmeadow. Supposed to get in at Gosford at 3:50.
Next season hopefully (assuming Bridges is injured and Branko will continue playing 4-2-3-1):
---------------Owen------------------ Abbas---------Culina--------Zadkovich -------Kanta---------Wehrman--------- Dapuzzo-----NTS---Regan--------Elrich --------------Kennedy----------------
My best guess anyway.

Would like to see Kanta given a run at CB if we don't sign anybody, can really see him turning into a true libero

I posted this on the Newcastle Football forums but thought I would post it here incase there were jets fans that don't frequently visit those. _______________.
Newcastle United Community Ownership Supporters Trust - NUCOST
I have been working on this Idea for a while now, since I started this thread infact. I have done reasearch using examples from overseas, St Pauli, Exeter City, Brentford FC, Etc. Also been looking at legal requirements of such a group from a national and a state perspective, with the obvious Idea that this "Trust" would be a Non-Profit organisation, but also how it would fit in the Australian business landscape as we don't have laws that make provisions for this type of specific group (as they do in England).
However this research lead me to starting a mock up constitution for OUR Supporters Trust. It is going to take me a little while longer to complete, but hopefully If I can gauge interest here and it might be possible to start holding meetings and begin the process of registering our Supporters Trust and gaining legal recognition.
I will Post the objectives that are listed in the mock constitution (it is a 'mock' one because obviously I shouldn't have the sole right to approve it as the Trust's model). These objectives are those that will make the group, non-profit, pro-football, and pro-Newcastle United Jets:
-The objectives of the Trust are through itself, for the benefit of the community and acting under its control:
- To encourage the Club to take proper account the interests of its supporters and the community it serves in its decisions
- To benefit present and future members of the community served by the club by promoting encouraging and furthering the game of association football (soccer) as a recreational facility, sporting activity and focus for community involvement
- To provide and maintain facilities for the enjoyment of professional football in the area
- To promote and widen interest in association football (soccer) regardless of the sex, religion or ethnic origin of those involved
- To further the development of the game of association football (soccer) nationally and the upholding of its rules
- To encourage and promote the principle of supporter representation on the board of any company owning or controlling the Club and ultimately to be the vehicle for democratic elections to the board
- To promote, develop and respect the rights of members of the community served by the Club and people dealing with the Trust, and having regard in particular to the need to provide information to members and conduct the affairs of the Trust in accessible and appropriate ways.
___________________________.
I hope that there can be some constructive conversation as to what people think and who would be interested in moving forward from here. I understand that the main demographic on this site is those that belong to the Squadron and I would like a wider audience to be involved in this as it should and will be open to all supporters of the club. In saying that I am glad that I have this Forum of some very passionate and active supporters to gauge the interest of such a trust as this, and I thank you in advance for your input, suggestions, and constructive criticism.
Just on a timeline note, my aim is to have a first meeting as the 2011-12 A-league season is starting and that Hopefully this first meeting will be just that a meeting where we can show our objectives to a wide audience and hopefully start signing up members. From there the First AGM Could be held mid-season to elect a board, secretary, approve the constitution, and a 12 month - 5 year plan.
Thankyou,
Blackmac.

All this good form without Kanta, Wehrman or JC. Once they're in the team we will be far more fluent

Quote:Jets menswear supplier signs on Friday, 5 August 2011 The Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce Gentlemen’s Outfitters Charlestown (GOC) have re-signed as the Club's Official Menswear Supplier of the upcoming 2011/12 Jets season. Gentlemen's Outfitters Charlestown will provide suits, shirts and ties for the Jets Hyundai A-League squad, coaching staff and management. “We are delighted to continue our association with the Jets as the Club's official menswear supplier,” said Andrew Roberts, former Jets player and GOC Managing Director. “The Hunter Sports Group has brought a new level of stability and ambition to the Club and we are excited to be involved in what promises to be a great season for the Jets. “As ex-Captain of the Jets I am really happy to see the Club moving in the right direction.” The Hunter Sports Group believe GOC are the perfect fit as the menswear partner. 'We are very pleased to sign this partnership with Gentlemen’s Outfitters Charlestown,” said Mark Duffield-Thomas, HSG General Manager Sponsorship. “The Hunter Sports Group are committed to supporting local businesses and Andrew's strong history with the Jets and excellent range of menswear makes Gentlemen's Outfitters Charlestown an ideal partner. “We are raising the professionalism of the Club and want to provide the players with everything they need to be successful.” HSG will work with GOC on the design and fabric of the suit. This preseason is one of the best we've had in our history tbh. Everything is going to plan so far, and hopefully we see the returns of JC and Kanta in the coming weeks (Kanta will be back once he returns from the WC). Can't wait for the actual season to start, although I hope Wehrman is over his injury by then.

Having been to each of our sydney based pre-season games. Am going to say that serious improvement is going to be needed. Hopefully having Wehrman, Kanta and Jason in the mids will create something but to be honest despite results we arn't looking good enough for the A-league.

I'll head up there if I don't have work that day, but my own team might also be having our end-of-season party that night so if that's on I can't make it unfortunately.

Im coming from sydney to go to this game... Excuses boys.
This is sydney. Would like nothing more that to beat them. Glad the club has learned and are not playing the CCM during the pre-season nothing dullifies the rivalry more.

Quote:Newcastle Golf Club sign on with HSGFriday, 9 September 2011 The Hunter Sports Group are pleased to announce a new three-year partnership which sees the Newcastle Golf Club become the Official Golf Club Sponsor of both the Newcastle Knights and Newcastle Jets. HSG are delighted to partner with this prestigious local brand and hope this sponsorship will help attract more visitors to Newcastle Golf Club, which is one of only two courses in NSW recognised in the World's Top 1000 Golf Courses. "This partnership allows us to offer our corporate partners the unique opportunity to play a round of golf with the Knights and Jets players at one of the country's best courses,” Mark Duffield-Thomas, HSG GM Sponsorship said. “We are very grateful to Newcastle Golf Club for their support - we know these events will be very popular throughout our partnership." The Newcastle Golf Club are equally as pleased to be partnering with the Hunter Sports Group. "The Knights and Jets are so important to the community and businesses of the Hunter region, we are delighted to be able to host both Club's official golf days,” said Michael Mulvaney, Newcastle Golf Club Captain. “The players of both teams visit the Club regularly and we are pleased to formalise this long term partnership as sport in Newcastle enters a new and exciting era" This year on November 25, the Knights will hold their annual corporate golf day at the world class course in Fern Bay, just one week after the course has hosted the 2011 NSW Open. The partnership also sees the Club become the Player Sponsor of keen golfer and Jets goalkeeper Ben Kennedy and host of the Jets Club Golf Day, which will take place in March 2012. http://www.newcastlejets.com.au/default.aspx?s=newsdisplay&id=40896
