lol. Jobe Wheelhouse? That means he'll be on the pitch most of the time, doesn't it?

At the season launch tonight, I doubt we will get many pics, and they won't come online until at least >9:00 I bet even if there are any. Will be interesting to see though.

Hey all. Just wondering what time does the youth league game and the main game kick off today at Darling Street?
I can't find anything on the internet and speaking with a few people, none of them seem to be certain about kick off times.
Edit: Never mind. Today's Herald article to the rescue.

Quote:Europcar signs Official Supplier Deal with HSG Tuesday, 27 September 2011 The Hunter Sports Group are pleased to announce Europcar Newcastle and Hunter Valley as the Official Rental Car Supplier of the Jets and the Knights. This is a two-year contract and expands a previous Newcastle Jets sponsorship to encompass both Clubs under the Hunter Sports Group consortium. Europcar Newcastle and Hunter Valley will provide rental cars to staff and players from the Jets and Knights and HSG management. "We are delighted to secure this sponsorship agreement with Europcar Newcastle and Hunter Valley,” HSG General Manager Sponsorship Mark Duffield-Thomas said. "The HSG strategy is all about focusing on the Hunter, partnering with local businesses and increasing support for Team Newcastle and as the Jets season approaches its good to add another brand to our sponsorship portfolio." Europcar are excited to kick off this new sponsorship across both the Jets and Knights. “It is great we can continue our previous Jets association and also add the Knights into the mix,” Todd Holden, General Manager Europcar Newcastle & Hunter Valley said. “We are a proud family-run business with strong history in the Hunter and it makes perfect sense to join the Hunter Sports Group at the exciting time.” For more information on Europcar please visit http://www.a-league.com.au/default.aspx?s=newsdisplay&id=41144

Con opened it and it was open for the first season or two of the A-league I believe. Newcastle United existed before 2010. Don't forget our history like the new ownership has.

Also we are getting the Jetstream fanzine back into circulation this season with monthly issues. So make sure you do your best to get your hands on a copy as there won't be many going up for sale however we don't expect to sell that many but you never know.
It will be issue 17 (there have previously been 16 issues), and it is the first one that I will be contributing to and distributing. It should be going on sale at the F3 derby on the 23/10/11. So come find me or any of the other distributors and for a gold coin get a piece of Jets fan history.
If you would like to contribute see Newcastlefootball.net/forums, and register or follow the links to the jetstream reborn page for details.

People seem to forget that he put about $20mil out of his own pocket into keeping the club alive. Without Con, there would be no Newcastle football club in the league.

 Brb going for a meeting
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Quote:Jets W-League welcome Ariane Hingst Wednesday, 5 October 2011 3:04 PM
The Newcastle Jets W-League squad continues to strengthen with German defender Ariane Hingst the most recent member to join the Club on a one-year contract.
Hingst is a German international and W-League Head Coach Clayton Zane is looking forward to the 32-year old joining his squad, pending a Visa being granted.
“We are delighted to have obtained Ariane's services for the coming W-League season,” Zane said.
“She comes with a wealth of experience at international level having won two World Cups, four European Championships and winning 3 bronze medals at the Olympic games.
“She will provide leadership on and off the park and will help strengthen our team defensively.
“With such a young squad, containing six 'Young Matildas', Ariane will help our players understand the requirements to become better professionals.
“All parties are aware that her signing is fully dependent on a Visa which we are working hard to obtain.”
Hingst will join her new teammates later this week to commence training ahead of the Jets W-League first game on Saturday October 29 at Adamstown Oval.
