Lot of money...but he's worth it. Top 5 WR for me.

Peyton Hillis is now a Chief, and Chad Henne has moved to Jacksonville.

That deal is ALL KINDS of fucked up. The Lions salary cap is going to be fucked if they have to spend big to hang on to guys like Stafford and Suh.

John Carlson has been signed by the Vikings to a 4 year 20m contract. Looks like Shiancoe is leaving then.

Manning to be a Titan in next 24hours. You heard it here!

Mario Williams > Bills = 6yr/100M
Steve Hutchinson > Titans = 3yr/16M

We lost Scott Wells to the Rams. Shattered as. One of the best Centers in the league. And I know McCarthy is just going to draft a replacement. Big blow.

I know that the Packers just don't go nuts in free agency and their method seems to work, but it sure is frustrating as a fan to watch all these good players moving and not hearing a peep from Green Bay. Sure was some defensive free agents we could have used.

We were talking to him. Would have made our front line as strong as its ever been.

Shocked to hear that. Harbaugh kept saying he had faith in Alex...looks like he's gone back on his word. Could backfire if Peyton opts to go elsewhere though.

Manningham has gone to the 49ers, and we've signed Brandon Lloyd.

Matt Flynn to Seattle for 26mill over 3yrs. Did not see that coming. I thought he was a lock for Miami. Turns out one of the former Packers front office guys who drafted Flynn is now at Seattle.

I expect Seattle to be much improved this year. Should compete for a wildcard spot IMO. Flynn should take some pressure of Marshawn Lynch, who is one of my favorite players to watch. The guy just keeps on running, despite getting hit by the defense.

Hillis and Charles in the backfield. Potential to be very potent on the run as well with Bowe and the like. All they need is someone better than Cassel

All over ESPN today that Manning has chosen the Broncos. F*uck knows why, except maybe the 95mill over 5 years.

Still, I don't get it. He's hardly the QB of the future for Denver, he'll be over 40 at the end of this contract. Tennesee had the feel good factor, homecoming of the conquering hero and all that and he's ditched it play golf with Elway on his days off?
It's very confusing to me. But at least he stays in the AFC.

Only things that counted against the Niners for me was the fact that they are in the NFC. No other reason, they were his best chance of another ring.

Since missing out on Manning we've arranged meets with Kameron Wimbley, Jeff Saturday, Jamaal Anderson, Joel Dreessen as well as Tracy Porter this week.

We really needed a DE and a SS and there was some real talent on the market in those positions this season.

I know that drafting and developing your own players from the ground up has worked for us over the years, but sometimes you need to bring in some experience, especially at Strong Safety and Center.

first round, second round and two third round picks will get us a top DE, a solid RB, and a DB, but a lot of teams are looking for o-liners and I think it will be a bad year to be looking for a Center.

I did. I was a little surprised they didn't try harder for Manning, Flynn was the next best option and he'll make them play-off contenders, no doubt.

a five year deal represents a massive risk for the Broncos and is up there with a Redskins-esque level of mismanagement. I have no idea why they offered him that kind of money, but a fit Manning would no doubt make them championship contenders, especially with the Denver D. But he's definitely got targets there in Thomas and Decker. It's a bit of a shame that Royal left, and they'll take a TE early in the draft to play underneath.

Not the fact that he moved, but that Seattle beat some other teams to him, especially with Philbin in Miami. I thought that was a done deal till I heard that former Packer front office dude is now in Seattle. You just can't predict Miami. I bet they trade for Tebow next.

That's the rub, ain't it? Whether he's actually 'fit' or not. Everyone in Denver is going to hold their breath the first time he's sacked.

In other news, I heard the Packers mentioned as possible suitors for Tebow as well. He might actually be a better running back that Grant at this point.

Seattle were always having a look at him. And the second he got a chance to play for a team that doesn't trade THEIR BEST WR for two third round picks, he's going to take it. I think the Seahawks were the only team to make him an offer that wasn't laughable. Mind you, a 23m deal for a guy with two career starts is pretty hectic.

It'd be pretty awesome to see them open the season against someone like the Ravens, where you know they'll at least knock him down on the first drive.

We don't have anything to offer for him though. Anything they would want for him, we'd want to keep. And as for being better than Grant - Grant at least has some lateral movement, Tebow's rush is all straight lines out of the pocket. Put him in the RB position and he's going nowhere fast.

Saints' Coach Peyton banned for 2012 season.
The NFL announced Wednesday that New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton will be suspended for one season without pay for his involvement in the team's bounty program. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis has been suspended for eight games. Former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has been suspended indefinitely.

The team has also been fined $500,000 and will have to give up its second-round picks in the 2012 and 2013 NFL Drafts.

The league said in a news release that the involvement of individual players in the program is still being reviewed, and that any discipline will be announced at a future time.

In addition, Saints assistant head coach Joe Vitt has been suspended without pay for the first six games of the 2012 season.

Payton's supension is without pay. It will begin April 1 and last for the entire 2012 season. Loomis' suspension will be for the first eight games of the 2012 season.

Tim Tebow was on the verge of joining the Jets overnight before Denver demanded that the Jets reimburse them some $5m in advanced salary paid to Tebow. The deal agreed to in principle sees Jets trading a 4th and 6th round pick for Tebow and a 7th round pick but could hit the rocks because of Denver's demands.

Benjarvis Green-Ellis has joined the Bengals (great pick-up).

Alex Smith has signed a three year contract with the Niners worth around $24m.

Ex-Patriot DE Mark Anderson has joined the Bills on a 4 year, 27.5m deal. The Bills have now signed Williams (5 sacks) and Anderson (10 sacks) when they only had 29 sacks all last season.

You might have more faith in what Grant has left to offer than I do. He's not been the same since the injury.
I can't understand why Jacksonville isn't all over Tebow. If nothing else, he'd pay his own salary in jersey sales and bums on seats. Someone there is seriously deluded if they think Gabbert is the answer.

I can understand why we aren't keeping Grant. You're right, he hasn't been the same since the injury and RB's slow down after they turn 30, but I don't see what Tebow has to offer. I don't know why we didn't make a move for Green-Ellis.

Jacksonville aren't all over Tebow because they just signed Chad Henne.

Tebow would just be a waste of time. Two dud QB's is enough, let alone three.

I have no idea why the Jets have made a move for Tebow after signing Sanchez to a long-term big money deal.

The thing is Tebow isn't just another dud QB to Jacksonville, he's from there. He played he's college football there. When Denver played in Miami last year there were 30000 people there in Denver Tebow jerseys. He's the man in Jacksonville. Playing ability aside, he would sell tickets and merchandise for a struggling franchise that needs just that kind of big boost.
Playing wise, I reckon Maurice Jones-Drew would love running in the option where the middle linebacker has to keep and eye on Tebow all the time. Then play Henne or Gabbert as a change of pace. It's not like Jacksonville has anything to lose. They already lay a tarp over a bunch of seats to avoid the NFL's TV blackout policy, and Tebow would make them relevant for the first time since Tom Coughlin left.
Put it this way, what have they got to lose?

They made the play-offs twice since he left. Jus' sayin'. There's more to it than that.

Honestly, Jacksonville should never have existed in the first place with the Bucs and Fins already in Florida (not to mention the Gators, Bulldogs and MU).

While Tebow might get bums on seats, it's a short-term solution unless they find a way to start winning games. But with the way Jacksonville are going, they're headed for a Detroit-esque run of mediocrity.
