No chance in hell. I rate this as 0/10.

Tasmania would be lucky to get a franchise if we had 14 teams.

Western Sydney should be certainties to a 11/12 spot, preferably out here in the true Football heartland around Fairfield/Wetherill Park, building a new stadium and club around a true united western sydney community (bringing together all the ethnic groups, aussies, serbs, iraqi, italians, lebanese etc etc).

Wollongong is no chance. It's just not big enough.

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Tasmania and Wollongong the 11th and 12th franchises [RUMOUR]?

Have your say.

Wollongong is defintely big enough. It has history to prove it. Hobart has its advantages, like no football code, anyone remotely interested would follow it. Having said that, 3/10, i agree that Sydney and Melbourne are more likely to get 11/12, then Geelong (no im not counting it as Melbourne) and then Wollongong and Canberra.

I wouldnt be suprised if wollengong get it, cause they got a reasonable team, and they do fairly well in the old NSL. but Tasmania...thats like saying Football will be the #1 sport in America, by next year. It wont work. It Wont Happen, Trust me

They both (tas and wollongong) will join one day i hope but i think west sydney and geelong will be next. I also hope darwin will get a chance in the future with canberra to make 16 teams max.

Hey Nico maybe that dude that came in before going on about a team was thinking Tasmania. He said it wasn't 'QLD or VIC or NSW' teams. What a clown.

Tasmania would be a good idea i think. Split the home games between Launceston and Hobart. There is no other national team down there except for the Tassie Tigers cricket team. The Hobart Devils basketball were dreadful but still put bums on seats cuz there was nothing else to do, except eat apples and try to chat up your attractive cousin.

OK, the writer of this probably made this up to get in the mill but we all know a group from Woolongong have been making noise in the past and the Tassies Gov't have said publicly they will throw their political weight in to get an A-League team.

The 1 team 1 city concept of the league is the courner stone of the product but the derby matches attrach crowds so I see another Sydney and melbourne team first?

Blacktown City Demons have been pushing for inclusion since the A-League started up. I think Marconi would then have the next best chance and then Wollongong. But who knows ...

I thought of the same thing, let's extend football to all states of Australia. We could be the first sport to do so. However, do these states have the money to put up for a team ??? We don't want to include teams that are going to fall through anyway.

I think Tassie all da way
Think of the name: the Tassie Apples
Then Canberra because they could be like the AIS club

Northern Territory won't get one because the Thunder will represent them and if a WA team gets in it will be Broome

Tasmania would be good, except I don't think it will come for a long time.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Gong got one of the next sides.
Belief factor - 5/10.

NT wont get one theyve got a pop. of about 150k theyd need to get 20% of their pop. into the games to keep it going.

Canberra should be in but not as the AIS, we are not building a development league.

Wollongong is no chance. It's just not big enough.

nah you are wrong wollongong is the same size as central coast and bigger than townsville. I am from wollongong and there is an impressive bid to be submitted in 2010, the illawarra has raised players like Chipperfield, Sterjovski and wilkshire , so wait untill they are in the league and see how good our local players are.

I think you'll see second teams for Melbourne and Sydney in 2010... Then sides from Wollongong, Canberra and Tasmania over the next 3 or 4 seasons.

I think the bigger priority is ensuring that Perth stay alive otherwise we're going to end up with the East Australian league.

Obviously adelaide city or sumthin. You were the noob that came in here saying they would be the most financially viable club in the league, but you would not disclose the details. Could be adelaide city but i will believe it when i see it.
