chamakh says nasri and cesc are leaving.

Quote:
“I think both are close to leaving,” said the Moroccan international striker. “The manager is looking for replacements, has not found them, and before letting [Fabregas and Nasri] go, he wants to have someone to fill each of their positions.

“Nasri has just one year left on his contract. If they do not sell him, he will leave for free in the summer. Is the club disposed to reject £18 million to keep a player that good for just one year? It is strange that a club like Arsenal has not made him sign a contract earlier.

interesting i read a post saying arsene is going for speed now. they were saying gerv and alex and miyachi are very fast sprinters, and add walcott and we have pace.

i always remember arsenal countering impossibly fast during the invincbles years. the opponents would take a corner, and 10 secs later arsenal scored. :D maybe hes trying to do that again.

Of course, the ultimate driving force of that was Henry who could run a hundred several times quicker than any defender or midfielder in the EPL! That helps alot! But certainly i've always loved watching Walcott just take off with the ball like he did against Liverpool. Pace is the way to go it seems, we can't match City or United or Chelsea for power in midfield only for skill passing and pace we own every club in europe!

Yeah there does seem to be a pattern to our buys in the attacking third. Seems Arsene wants to go back to having some genuine pace and the players that scare defences with their pace. Will be good to have Gervinho, Chamberlain and Miyaichi as well as Walcott who all have that pace.

What Miyaichi's work permit, and us wanting it so badly, does seem to signify, imo at least, is that Samir Nasri could be on his way very soon. Add to that the signing of Chamberlain and him going straight into the first team.

I think he's trying to create a new team with an English spine.

Jagielka/Cahill (make it happen!), Gibbs, Wilshere, Ramsey (We'll let Wenger off with this one), Walcott, Chamberlain
The best teams do seem to have a good mix of domestic and foreign players, perhaps that's what Arsene is doing.

Then there's Benik Afobe, Kyle Bartley and Emmanuel Frimpong all on the brink of the first team.

It's clear in terms of finance, Arsenal's debt is being payed off easily and so whilst we probably wont have too much of a chance at winning any silverware for another 4 or 5 seasons, by the time that comes we will have the best financial position of any team! Man City already owes their owner 500m pounds, though he converted it to equity, and man u owe over 700m pounds. in comparison, Arsenal's is down to the low 100m from more than 300m after the Emirates was built. Then when the bonds are payed off the emirates will be expanded again to fill in some of the gaps and sink the pitch apparently so that the fans are closer, and then that will be ridiculous - revenue would be something like 100m pounds a season! imagine having most of that to spend on players and we will just be unstoppable in 10 years. manu and liverpool will be a decade behind us and God knows what will happen to city by then, and chelsea cant do anything about their stadium or anything because of Stamford bridge restrictions and stuff so they will basically be out the picture altogether. It's scary how much money Arsenal make.

i like the idea of having a pacey forward line, the best example of that counterattacking football is displayed by Germany i think, with the quick one twos, pulling it down the wing and then cutting in. The only thing im not too happy about is, arsenal seem to want to walk the ball into the net, i understand we play unbelievable football, but we need more players to be shooting. I just really want to be back to our greatest and dominating the premier league, i miss those days.

And why would we buy Torres

I'd rather spend the money on a relacement for Cesc(most likely Mata), and a top class CB and maybe another striker if Bendtner leaves like expected.

jokes. torres is shit now, he is the new schevchenko. there is something about chelsea that destroys peoples souls.

you wander tho, if wenger had the cash would he even buy an established player for mega bucks? inside you kinda want him to go out and buy sneijder and benzema and any other crazily expensive player for sale.

If Cesc leaves I think he will be straight in for Mata. Whether he's established enough for some people I don't know

Also lets say nasri leaves within the next week, unless we've bought a CB by then I can see Wenger just stumping up the cash for either Cahill or Jagielka. He won't worry about spending money on a replacement for Nasri.

Of course now with Cesc most likely leaving there is rumours linking us to every midfielder you can think of

Reports in Spain that there is already an agreement in place with Mata to sign him as soon as Cesc leaves.

Also reports that we've expressed an interest in Shakthar midfielder Jadson who would be an excellent signing.

Depends if we buy Mata. If we do like I think we will then he will play Cesc's role. If not I think it'll be more Ramsey there than Jack.

and this Jadson character i saw on the BBC website that they could pick him up for around 8-10million pounds. Is he any good though? I just youtube'd him and he seems like a pretty decent pick. And whats this news were trying to get our hands on Bryan Ruiz or something like that

From what I've seen of him for Shakthar he's been great and if we can get him for 8-10m plus Mata it would be excellent.

Apparently we've declared our interest in Ruiz. Would be very happy with signing him.

But even if we do get Mata, then he'd still be playing on the wings you'd think wouldnt he? Hmm i think as a player Wilshere is better then Ramsey for that position, but you never know, because i see wilshere as not only a great player but a strong player even for his size

Mata will most likely be bought as a replacement for Cesc, not Nasri. Ramsey has shown during pre-season that apart from Cesc he's the best player in that position at the club.

As for Jack, he's a better tackler than Ramsey and works so well with Song in the middle that I wouldn't wanna break it up.

As for Ruiz, he's got a great scoring record for Twente and is very versatile, can play anywhere across the front line which will add some serious depth upfront.
